How are you all, Red Pandas? Â

I hope your first month into school has been a smooth transition, and that homework hasn't smothered you yet. Have your club meetings started yet? Bring a friend to a meeting and introduce them to the family you call  Key Club! Now, it is also getting closer to one of the most exciting times of the Key Club experience: Fall Rally! As it gets closer to Fall Rally North, please keep in mind that it does become quite costly to attend, so remember to fundraise with your club or on your own to cover cost! I hope you don't lose motivation to attend service events, though, as the top priority of Key Club is service. I'll see you around at upcoming service events! Division 46 North Lieutenant Governor

LETTER FROM THE LTG Division 46 North | Page 4

Member of the Month Erica Langpaap, Grace Davis This member worked hard to get people from her club to attend events and help out the community whenever there was a service opportunity. She herself served the community for over 10 hours in the past month alone, and is always up for the task to help others. She, and two others, personally helped me out in planning the Picnic for PTP, which took a lot of work to plan. She is always reliable in asking for help and attending events.

Officer of the Month Kyle Amaral, Beyer This officer served over 8 hours for the month of July and is always helping out at events with a positive mindset. As a role model in the club, this officer has been there for the club and its officers when no one else is and offers their help a lot too. I'm sure this officer will do well in helping out the club and recruiting members for the upcoming year, too. Accepted by Jason Leung, President

Â

Club of the Month Thomas Doney As a club that was on the verge of ending, the appointed officers of this club did a great job in learning what their respective duties included and brainstorming ideas in how to recruit members for the next Key Club year. Although there aren't any members in the club as of now, the appointed officers are doing a wonderful job in attending division events and turning things in on time. I hope they will do well in recruiting and retaining members throughout this year.

Advisor of the Month Nan Cohan Jacobs, Gregori As a new Kiwanis Advisor, this advisor has been doing well in helping out the club she advises, and sometimes she offers rides to members as well. She always attends the board meetings and is always helping to think of ideas of how to approach an issue. I'm sure this advisor will guide the club she advises well in the future as well. Accepted by Christine To, President

Hetchy Hetch Trail Cleanup By Kyle Amaral, Beyer Beyer Key Club hosted another cleanup along the Hetch Hetchy Trail, and we picked up trash alongside the trail. Key Clubbers from other clubs showed up to participate as well, and the Modesto Parks and Recreations Department lent the supplies to us. Overall, we had a lot of fun cleaning up the community, while doing it with friends.

Modesto Gospel Mission By Crystal Cheng, Gregori From Thursday, July 28th, through Saturday, July 30th, several Key Club members gathered at the Modesto Gospel Mission Center to organize Back-to-School supplies in a donation drive. Members put together school backpacks, with respective school supplies, using recommendation lists for each grade, that were to be donated to low-income families. We organized school supplies, such as pens/pencils, rulers, notebooks/binder paper, and binders, into separate boxes/piles in order to put together the backpacks more efficiently at a later time. Many volunteers from other organizations had participated as well, and all in all, it was a great event to spend the last few days of summer break before school started again.

Kiwanis Take-Over By John Gorges, Beyer On Tuesday, August 2nd, Beyer Key Club had their Kiwanis Takeover fundraiser. Our club raised over $200 for our club, and a portion of the funds raised will be donated to support PTP. We had 5 members in attendance and 1 advisor. It was a really fun event in which we got to raise money for our club, as well as for a great cause.

August DCM + Dog Toys Â

By Jason Leung, Beyer It was really fun attending the August DCM! I was very excited to be able to attend this event because we got to finish the dog toys that we have been working tirelessly at the last DCM. This was a really great service project, which is also very fun, as I got to do this with friends. I hope we can do this again in the future.

Picnic for PTP

By Philip Gergis, Enochs The division picnic was held at Beyer Park on July 23rd, and it was first division fundraiser we have had for PTP. At the picnic people were served a meal with their choice of a hot dog or hamburger, a bag of chips, a dessert, and a drink for $5. In addition, for another $2 one could purchase themselves a bag of popcorn. After everyone was finished eating, we had started the Pie for PTP. Presidents and DLT members volunteered to be pied in the face to raise money, with every pie they got hit with costing a dollar. Then, to end the day members had played the balloon games, which had a $3 entry fee.

The balloon games included a balloon stomp, a water balloon toss, and a water balloon fight.

“I

can say without a doubt that

everyone who had attended had a marvelous time and the picnic turned out to be quite successful, considering the fact that we raised a profit of $170!” In conclusion, the division picnic was an amazing event and I look forward to the future PTP fundraisers the division has in store for us!

What’s Poppin’, CNH District?

My name is William Zhang from the Eastern Canada District, and I am honoured to introduce myself as your newly elected International Trustee. It is the most amazing feeling to know I will work alongside so many strong, passionate volunteers and leaders. As International Trustee, my duty is to represent your voice and opinions on the International level, as well as act as a liaison to the three Districts I serve – West Virginia, California-Nevada-Hawaii, and Jamaica. My responsibilities also extend to participating in a maximum of two district visits, and I hope to see you at your DCON! A little bit about myself: I am an incoming senior at the International Baccalaureate School Colonel By in Ottawa, Ontario. I have a love for art, biology, travelling and photography. During my free time I’m usually playing around with my laptop or sipping green tea while watching YouTube. Other than Key Club, I join my best friends in anime club or for a bubble tea, where we fully geek out, but have the best of times! In conclusion, CNH District, I know that this year will be unforgettable, and that you will have many amazing stories to tell by District Convention. Throughout our time together, I will always be an accessible resource and an approachable friend, so if you have any questions or would just like to say hello, feel free to reach out to me. I would love to hear from you! I couldn’t be more excited for this service year with you all. It’s going to be a great year! Stay golden! Buzzing with service,

William Zhang International Trustee williamzhang.kci@gmail.com
