November: Monthly Member of the Month: Laura Gobel, Riverbank This member is doing a wonderful job by taking on several duties as chair of a club candy sales fundraiser and the coordinator for a new ongoing service project this club has started at their school called the Bruin Boutique. With the Bruin Boutique, the club collects clothing donations and then sorts them by age/gender groups to give them to those in need. This service project sounds very promising and I hope the club and this member herself keeps this going.
Officer of the Month: Jessica Doxey, Gregori This officer has completed 24 Key Club hours this month and exceeded expectations in her duties as secretary. With a treasurer vacancy, this officer took on the job to take care of dues and input member information into the Membership Update Center. In her secretarial duties, she has never failed to turn in the Club MRF Early-Bird status and is always on top of things. This officer has made me proud since the beginning of the term.

Recognition Club of the Month: Vanguard This club is doing a fabulous job retaining member activeness and passion for Key Club. They were able to take a whole bus full to Fall Rally, which they were prepared for since months ago. They are always on top of things, and if they are unsure about something, then they come straight to me or another advisor to clarify that issue. For the month of October alone, they accumulated 272 service hours in their club, which is truly amazing.
Advisor of the Month: Jason Hightman, Enochs This advisor has done a terrific job in aiding the club whenever time calls for it. He always communicates with the president and helps plan and finalize fundraisers for the club; he has kept money for safekeeping, opened his room up for club meetings, and attended Fall Rally as a chaperone. This advisor has been very hands-on with the club and we are very thankful for all his help.

This month we had our bake sale. We had many goods that were Halloween-themed. The bake sale allowed us to raise money for our club and get our students involved. Many of our members got involve, set-up and sold the bake sale items. Lexi, Monica, Lourdes and Melissa sold at break, while Gianna, Lisa, Michael and Helena sold during lunch. This was a great opportunity to raise money for our club and we can't wait to have another one.

Philip Gergis | Enochs The Harvest Festival is a downtown event held every year for families to bring their children and enjoy the many activities and meals at the festival. This year the festival was held on October 15th in front of Brenden Theatres and the whole division got together to help out at the event. Volunteers were given numerous tasks, such as being in charge of the bounce houses, craft booths, face painting, or selling pumpkins.
“The festival turned out to be really fun for all the members who went since the jobs were pretty easy and after we were done with our shifts we got to enjoy ourselves at the festival!” In addition, whenever the bounce houses weren’t busy volunteers were allowed to go inside of them and have some fun. Overall, the harvest festival was a great event and I look forward to volunteering again at it next year!

Our members helped Vanguard Community Council through the fourth annual Color Run. Members helped in any way they could, from counting laps to selling nachos. We all had fun hanging out together and having fun with the other students at our school. Division 46 North | Page 14

“My key leader experience was amazing! I never anticipated for this event to change my life so drastically. I made so many friends, in such a short amount of time! When I was there we learned about the values on how to be a better leader so we could grow as better individuals. For example, one day we went to the rope courses and were put into small groups. We did a few activities to help us break out of our comfort zones and learn new leadership skills. Later on afterwards we reflected on what we should have done to become a better team and listen to one another more. In just 3 days I was able to grow so much as an individual. I am very thankful that I was able to go to key leader this year and hopefully I can go to more later on!”

What is the Eliminate Project? The Eliminate Project is an effort to eliminate maternal/neonatal tetanus, an extremely painful disease, in underdeveloped countries. This occurs in underdeveloped countries mainly due to inadequate immunization services, limited or absent clean delivery services and improper postpartum cord care. Just $1.80 provides 3 immunization doses to protect a woman and her future babies from contracting MNT. Right now, a baby dies from tetanus about every 11 minutes--it used to be 9 minutes just three years ago. We are getting closer to our goal.
Eliminate Project
Since 1999, UNICEF and its partners have immunized nearly 100 million women with two or more doses of the vaccine and eliminated the disease in 40 countries. Countries that have recently validated the elimination of MNT include Sierra Leone, Gabon, Laos and Madagascar. MNT still remains a deadly threat in 19 countries. Help out the Eliminate Project today!

Candidate Training Conference
Interested in becoming the next Lt. Governor? On December 10th, the whole Cali-Nev-Ha District will be hosting Candidate Training Conference at several sites across the three states. Even if you are not interested in becoming Lt. Governor, attending CTC will give you much insight on the work that Lt. Governors do and help you refine your leadership/speaking skills!
What is Conclave? Conclave is when the election of the new Lt. Governor occurs. For CNH District, this happens in mid-January. The January DCM and Conclave will be held back-to-back on Wednesday, January 11th at Gregori High School. REQUIREMENTS FOR EACH CLUB: Each club needs to appoint two delegates and an alternate delegate (in the case that one delegate cannot show up from an emergency) who will be the club representatives voting for the Lt. December is Providing Basic Needs!
December is the time to reflect on what you have done for your community and how you’ve impacted them. Believe me, you have impacted at least one individual this past year. Say your “thanks” to individuals that have helped you and give back. Remember, giving is better than receiving!
Hold a fundraiser or collect donations to help out a family in need out this holiday season! Go shopping for warm clothes, food, toys for kids, and other gifts to help your adopted family feel warm and loved this Christmas!
Division 46 North | Page 31
Â
Make this as a club project! Ask members to bring in sanitary supplies and canned food to fill up the boxes to provide for the needy. You can even donate some warm clothing such as scarves, hats, gloves, etc. Ask for donations in your community or school!
Set up a supply drive at your school to bring in donations of school supplies. Many schools are not able to provide many basic supplies to their students, take this opportunity to reach out to a local school in your community!
Find a local food bank near you to volunteer! Food banks support those in need with food to support the community. Set up a food drive at your school to help donate to the food banks. A small help goes a long way!
Team up with a local ice skating rink to host a fundraiser with your club; let members know at your meetings, promote the event on social media, make fliers and post them around town. It’s the holiday season; people will be looking forward to a festive time at the rink!
Hold a Secret Santa opportunity at school for people to purchase small Christmas goodies for friends and loved ones. Post flyers around school and receive orders and collect money for about 1-2 weeks. Have a day to buy all products (e.g. small teddy bear, candy) and put together the goodies. Distribute the goodies during finals week to make their day!
