Mastery Camps have been teaching dancesport classes since 1992. Taught by some of the most widely recognized and successful teachers and competitors in the industry, these intensive training sessions are guaranteed too improve your dance skills, regardless of your level of experience. The Dance Camp schedule offers classes in American Rhythm & Smooth and International Latin & Standard, from beginning to intermediate and advanced as well as technique and club dance classes. Whether you’re just starting out of looking for that extra something to add to your competitive routine. Dance Camp Las Vegas is sure to provide the challenge and inspiration you won’t find anywhere else!

Meet the 2019 Dance Camp Instructors Nazar and Irina started to dance at the age of five in Siberia, Russia. They started competing with different partners at the age of six at the various Dance sport Championships in the Krasnoyarsk region, throughout Russia and internationally, winning numerous prestigious titles. In 2001 they started dancing together. After relocating to Florida in 2007 they turned professionals and continued their competitive career. Dancing International Latin, they achieved significant results, such as winning titles of North American Rising Star Champions, Grand National Champions, The Ohio Star Ball Rising Star Champions, United States National and Open to The World Rising Star Finalists and winners and Grand finalists of many more prestigious events around US. They are also United States National Professional 10 Dance Finalists.

Slawek & Marzena were 4 times US & World reigning and undefeated Open American Smooth Champions from 2010 - 2013. Their achievements also include: • • • •

After switching to American Rhythm style of dancing in March 2013, they immediately had great success by winning every single Rising Star event they participated at, including 2013 United States National Professional Rising Star Championship. Currently they are United States National Professional American Rhythm Champions and World American Rhythm Professional Champions.

Slawek & Marzena have coached all around the country as well as own and operate their own studio, Dance United LH. In 2017, they became the new directors of the Las Vegas Mastery Camp.

Nazar and Irina are the coaches to many great dancers in Russia and the United States. Among their students there are National and World Pro-Am Champions, Finalists of the British Open Championships and Italian Open Championships, members of the United States Team, Winners of the WDSF OPEN events. Nazar and irina are proud owners of the beautiful Dancelife. Florida Dance Center, located in Bonita Springs, Florida. Nazar is also a member of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing.

Decho Kraev was born in Bulgaria and began his competitive dancing career at the age of eight. His dedication, talent and determination brought him to the highest levels of recognition. He enjoyed a successful amateur career followed by coaching junior couples who also experienced great success. Decho moved to the United States in 2003 where he continued his career as a professional dance teacher and competitor. There he met his professional partner, Bree.

Gherman Mustuc & Iveta Lukosiute

For 30 years they have owned and operated the Academy of Ballroom Dance in Phoenix, AZ. Jim & Jenell travel throughout the country coaching, judging and demonstrating Ballroom Dance.

ACHIEVEMENTS •

Born in Ukraine, Gherman grew up in Moldova. He started dancing as a young boy back in Moldova where he became National and World Champion. He moved to USA in 2000.

Jim & Jenell were 2 time undefeated United States National Professional American Smooth Champions in 1993 & 1994 and top International Standard couple in 1999. They have held every major North American title and represented the United States worldwide.

Bree Watson was born in Savannah, Georgia and began dancing ballet and tap at the age of two. She strengthened her background at the North Carolina School of Performing Arts. Her introduction to the ballroom world started in 2002 in the Theatre Arts division. She quickly decided she preferred to have her feet on the ground and went in search of a partner in the American Rhythm style. In 2003 she moved to Phoenix where she met Decho.

Iveta Lukosiute began learning the art of ballroom dance in her native country Lithuania at the age of 6 where she was accepted as a student at the prestigious “Zuvedra” Ballroom Dance School. At the young age of 17, Iveta moved to the US with her mother and settled in Chicago where she continued to train with top coaches and also began her teaching career. Iveta moved to New York in 2003 to form a professional partnership with Gherman Mustuc. Aside from dancing with Gherman, she coaches other competitive dancers in New York and around the World.

They miraculously find time to have a full teaching schedule. Additionally, Gherman very often competes in the pro/am division with his students, and Iveta not only creates costumes for herself and others, but she also organizes their complicated schedules.


Meet the 2019 Dance Camp Instructors JT Thomas is a two-time US and World Smooth Champion. She has been studying dance since the age 7, including earning a BFA in dance from the University of Arizona. With her former Professional parner, Tomas Mielnicki, they were featured performers on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars and in the Disney movie Enchanted. She was also a choreographer for the Fox show So You Think You Can Dance. JT is a national adjudicator, choreographer and produces shows throughout the country. JT currently resides just outside of Nashville, Tennessee.

Yuki was born in Tokyo, Japan and started music lessons at the age 3. Later she started dancing ballroom and moved to England to further her education in ballroom dancing. She graduated from King’s College London while she took lessons from world-class Latin and ballroom coaches. She moved to USA in 2007 to train and compete in the American Style Rhythm.

Danas is orginally from Lithuania and found success as an Amateur Competitor in that country in both the International Ballroom and Latin styles. He came to America to further his professional career and partnered up with Yuki.

J.T. Thomas

Eddie Simon is a former United States ballroom champion, world Showdance and U.S. theatrical finalist. Simon received a North American Dance Award for the “Favorite Couple of the Year”. He also returns to his hometown of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, several times a year to coach and offer workshops at Dance New York’s Iowa studio, as well as officiate at the annual Iowa Dancesport Challenge.

Jonathan Roberts Jonathan Roberts began his dance career at the age of 20, when he discovered his passion for ballroom dancing after viewing the famous tango scene in the Al Pacino movie, “Scent of a Woman.” He took advantage of the free ballroom lessons offered on the back of his ticket stub, and the rest, as they say, “is history.” While he is most well known for dancing on the United States version of Dancing with the Stars, he has also competed and won the following awards: • • • • • • • •

Registration & Pricing Registration Opens January 7th, 2019 | Prices increase $50 per camp after May 1st, 2019 The Las Vegas Dance Camp will commence on Sunday evening with a buffet style dinner, a special performance, orientation and general dancing. Classes start Monday morning. With four days of over 140 group lessons, we are sure you will find what you are looking for. Classes include: • AMERICAN STYLE - Rumba, Cha Cha, East Coast Swing, Samba, Bolero, Mambo, Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango and Viennese Waltz • INTERNATIONAL STYLE - Rumba, Cha Cha, Jive, Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango and Viennese Waltz • SOCIAL/CLUB STYLE - Bachata, Salsa, West Coast Swing, Nightclub Two Step and Argentine Tango The event concludes on Thursday evening with a Grand Banquet, Student Routine Showcases learned throughout the week, a Special Presentation by the Pros, a Jack & Jill contest, and general dancing! Non Package Items Private Lessons - All private lessons are taught during lunch breaks (1pm-2:30 pm) and in the evening after the last group class from (6:30 pm -10:15 pm). Each private lesson is 45 minutes. • $150 for regular attendees. • $145 for campers attending 5-9 years. • $135 for campers attending 10 - 15 years. • $125 for campers attending 15+ years. Toby & Harmony Munroe Toby began his dance career in 1990 after being dragged, kicking & screaming to a Country & Western Dance Festival. Since then he has gone on to become one of the most sought after coaches, choreographers & instructors in the World. His extensive background in dance includes Country, Swing, Hustle, Latin, Ballroom and Salsa. He has won countless titles in Swing, Hustle and on the UCWDC circuit. Toby won his first World Championship title in 2002 for ABC Choreography. He has been nominated for 9 Star Awards, taught at Stanford University and has been featured on the TNN and GAC television networks. Toby is also a four time Colorado State Swing Champion and a UCWDC Master Certified Judge. Harmony Munroe began dancing at the age of 8 and currently co-owns Denver’s premier school for Ballroom and Latin dancing, Colorado Dancesport. She has won numerous titles in American Rhythm, American Smooth, and International Latin dancing. ACHIEVEMENTS • • •

Toby Munroe is the 2004 & 2005 UCWDC World Champion in the Classic Masters division. January 2006 – “Best Male Couples Dance Instructor” at the Star Awards Gala held in Stockholm, Sweden. Harmony has been a representative at the World 10 – Dance Championships and the World South American Showdance Championships as well as being a finalist at the World Mambo and the World Salsa Championships.

Christy Coté Christy Coté began her career as a Ballroom Dance instructor for Arthur Murray Dance Studios in San Francisco. 18 years later she saw the stage show Forever Tango which changed her dance life forever. She has now been teaching, performing and choreographing Argentine Tango since 1996 and is one of the most respected teachers of Argentine Tango in the United States today. Her teaching method has been published in the Argentine Tango manuals by Dance Vision which are complimented by a series of 21 instructional videos with partner, George Garcia. Christy’s popular Tango Boot Camps have attracted thousands of students since 2007. Christy’s approach to the dance has always been cutting edge with respect to the traditions of the dance and its culture which has earned her great respect from the the mostly Argentine community of Tango professionals. Christy is one of the featured teachers and performers for CITA, the annual International Tango Congress in Buenos Aires and in 2012 she became the first ever American judge for the Official USA Tango Championships, an annual event sanctioned by the Argentine Government. Christy is also one of the founding members, co-director and choreographer of the all female tango company, Tango Con*Fusion created in 2004. The company has performed across the U.S. and in Buenos Aires to rave reviews. Christy is based in San Francisco where she teaches weekly classes at La Pista and Boot Camps at various locations around the Bay Area.

George Garcia George Garcia has been teaching and performing a variety of dances for more than thirty years,. He has devoted his passion exclusively to the art of the Argentine Tango since 2001 and is a DVIDA National Examiner. George has studied with the world’s finest master tango teachers and is featured with Christy Cote’ in Dance Vision USA’s 24-volume Ultimate Argentine Tango Instructional DVD Series. He teaches and performs at various tango events in the USA and abroad. .As the founder of Hawaii’s Argentine Tango community, he presents his innovative Argentine Tango Boot Camps, runs weekly classes, workshops and milongas, offers private lessons and organizes workshops with visiting celebrity tango instructors. He organizes the Hawaii Paradise Tango Festivals.

Frequently Asked Questions Do I need a partner? No, you do not. Both single men & ladies attend. We encourage everyone to rotate partners, as this is a valuable learning tool. Remember, in order to be a good dancer you must be able to dance with a variety of partners. What level dancers attend camp? Our Mastery Camp is structured to offer something for the beginning social dancer to advanced competitors to instructors. How do you determine which level? We have four separate rooms – one each for level: Newcomer, Bronze, Silver & Gold. Our rooms are very close together, so it’s quite easy to go from one classroom to another. Newcomer classes are open to everyone. If you know at least 4 - 7 figures from a Bronze Syllabus, you can try the Bronze class. If you know at least 5 figures from a Silver Syllabus, you may want to try the Silver class. If you know at least 6 figures from a Gold Syllabus, the Gold Class is for you. Can you get me a roommate? Sorry, no. We have tried this in the past, and it was not very successful. It is very difficult to share a room with someone you do not know. What is the cancellation policy? A $50 non-refundable deposit will hold your spot in the 2019 Dance Camp Las Vegas. The final payment for Dance Camp is due in full no later than May 1st, 2019. After your initial deposit, 50% of your balance must by paid by February 15th, 2019. If we do not receive payment by February 15th we reserve theright to cancel your reservation without notice. Cancellations made before February 15th, we be assessed a $100 fee. The remaining amount paid will be credited towards a future camp. We will retain 50% of the total amount paid for cancellations made after February 15th but before May 1st. After May 1st, prices go up $50 per camp, due to late registration. Due to our commitments with the hotel in regards to room nights and food and beverage minimums, cancellations after May 1st will not be eligible for a refund or credit of any kind. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS, including medical reasons. Can I record the group lessons or take pictures? No taping/recording of group classes or the Grand Banquet Super Star Show is allowed. You may videotape your private lessons. You will be able to take pictures with all of the teachers at the Grand Banquet on Thursday. What should I wear? The most important item to bring is good dance shoes. Sorry, we do not sell shoes. Dress as you would when taking lessons in the studio.

What is a Jack & Jill contest? This is a dance contest in which you will be paired with someone you have never danced with before. The best dancing couple will win a prize.
