Sinking of the Titanic
“What was the event?” and “How do I know what happened?” Wednesday, 12 March, 14
What happened in this Event? How do I know what happened? • The titanic sunk because it hit an iceberg in the Atlantic. It was closest to Ireland when the Titanic sunk. The Titanic took 2-3 hours to sink. The Titanic sunk with the stern
bobbing out the water and then snapped in two pieces. The
Titanic was meant to be an unbreakable ship, when the news came through at around 2:30 everyone was very surprised. Many people died because there wasn’t enough life boats
for everyone to survive in the freezing cold water. There were around 400 people on board and only 200 life boats.
• I know this information from a movie called ‘The Titanic’ Wednesday, 12 March, 14

What happened in this Event? How do I know what happened?
• World War 2 was a devastating time for many people. Hundreds and thousands of people lost there loved ones and many came home with
injuries that will effect them for the rest of their lives. It was a time when the Germans and Adolph Hitler tried to rule over many countries.
During WW2 there was also a race to build the Atomic Bomb, The Allies were always trying to find out if the Germans were building faster and sent out lots of spies. World War 2 was going on for 4 years and the Allies won the long battle. WW2 Started in 1938, it was started by Adolph Hitler.
• I know this information because my Grate Grandpa was in WW2 and I did a project about him which involved learning about WW2. I also know the Atomic Bomb Information because in book club I’m reading a book about the race to building the Atomic Bomb. Wednesday, 12 March, 14
