Nik Rabinowitz: As you've never seen him before

We're almost a quarter of the way through the year already. Wow! Is it just me or have the first few months flown by? It seems like yesterday I was decorating my tree and now the shops are festooned with Easter eggs. The good news is that with schools breaking up and all the public holidays we should manage to take some time off. After the frenetic pace of 'back to school' and the usual start-of-the-year chaos; it's always a much welcomed break. We've put together some fun ideas of things to do and places to visit for inspiration. March also sees the Mother City host to the famous Cape Town Cycle Tour race. I'm sure no one could be oblivious to this, what with all the extra cyclists on our roads. As difficult and frustrating as it can be for rider and motorist (depending if you're on the saddle or off) lets try be a little more patient and respectful of one another. If that's too stressful then go and see our local comedian and cover star, Nik Rabinowitz', new production: “Power Struggle: A Force to be reckoned with,” showing at the Baxter this month for some good laughs and to blow off extra steam. Happy Easter and make sure to eat as many Lindt chocolate bunnies as possible!

Nik RabinowitzAs you've never seen him before By Danni Thunell Ende Nik Rabinowitz commonly referred to as Africa's funniest Jew, went to a Waldorf School, where (in his words) he learned to grow vegetables, express feelings through interpretative dance and crochet his own underpants. We met up with him to find out about his upcoming new comedy show, “Power Struggle: A force to be reckoned with” What's your new show all about? In essence it's designed to be a sustainability consciousness shifter. We'd like to create an experience that leaves people feeling good, but also delivers a strong message to keep them thinking once they leave. Predictably what they'll be thinking once they leave is 'How can I drive off without paying the car guard?', but maybe after that they might wonder about how to funnel grey water into the sprinkler system.” Who's the man behind the comedic mask? Would you ask Batman that? I'm a calmer version of my more manic on-stage persona. Aside from being a Son, Husband, and Dad, I'm also a lover of goats. Tell us one thing about yourself your fans may not know. I once shared a room with a goat, for a week, at the Grahamstown festival. Who is the funniest person you've ever met? It's a tie between Mark Banks & Peter de Villiers.

Have you ever had stage fright and couldn't perform? That's never happened (on stage). When you're not making people laugh what are your other hobbies? Are you suggesting my very serious career in the performing arts is a hobby? I enjoy surfing with great whites, I used to enjoy playing cricket (mostly also with great whites) and of course I have a soft spot for the occasional goatwhispering. How do you balance work with family life? I have an app for that. If you could wake up and be any celebrity (dead or alive) who would you be and why? Definitely Michael Jackson's pet chimp, Bubbles. Because you have all the fame, riches and recognition in the world but then when you take off your red, gold-studded military jacket you can walk around without being recognised.

Your favourite place to eat out? Our kids like it at Massimos in Hout Bay. So does the Dog. However, it's less about a place and more about people - I enjoy any place where I can eavesdrop on unsuspecting South Africans. Your perfect day would be spent doing… Early morning surf, followed by family unicornriding on Noordhoek beach. What's the biggest comedic faux pas you've made? I actually can't think of any. But did you know a Faux pas in English is a fox pass? William Webb Ellis invented the term. Because before they invented the rugby ball they used to pass a fox. It was very embarrassing, cause sometimes the fox would bite you and then you would drop the fox forward, the referee would blow his whistle, the fox would run away, and that would be the end of the game.

Is there a way to get rid of that

UNWANTED TATTOO?

BEFORE

The answer is yes! Many people get tattoos for various reasons and at different stages of their lives. However, circumstances may change and many people end up regretting their tattoo/s, especially those who had the names of their ex partner tattooed onto them in the heat of the moment. For anyone who can relate to this and has often felt helpless about their unwanted piece of body art, help is at hand and you needn't despair. RON HENDON from the USA is the developer of the revolutionary 123-TATTOO-FREE速 system. He is a world renowned Paramedical Micro Pigmentation Specialist and Tattoo Artist. He set out over 20 years ago to develop a simple yet effective method of tattoo removal and was motivated by the lack of accurate, painless and cost effective tattoo removal techniques globally. After years of extensive trial and error, he developed the perfect method and exact formula for a

successful tattoo removal and has been using this system in his studio for over 15 years and with unbelievable results. If you're wondering how it works, 123TATTOO-FREE速 system removes the Tattoo in 1-3 sessions, utilizing a mild exfoliating formula combined with their unique but virtually painless pinpoint abrasion process. There is NO other method that actually removes the ink from the skin other than 123TATTOO-FREE速. All other methods depend on the body to absorb or carry the unwanted ink into other parts of the body, creating possible allergic

14 DAYS

reactions and archaic laser methods are ink colour specific and can cause scarring, localized hair loss and burns. These other methods also take on average 12 to 24 sessions and can end up costing thousands. 123-TATTOO-FREE速 simply creates a mild irritation that causes the body to naturally reject the pigment. To see for yourself have a look at some of the BEFORE AND AFTER pictures. Unlike on most other tattoo removal sites, photos haven't been retouched and after pictures are of actual clients in different stages of the Tattoo Removal Process.
