Monogram Pumpkin

Materials:

- Pumpkin (either Fresh or Plastic) - Spray paint – Solid Colour & Glitter - Finishing Spray - Monogram Stencil

Directions: First start by cleaning drying the surface of the pumpkin. Then, spray paint pumpkin any colour that you wish. You will need to paint a few coats to get a full even look. Leave about an hour in between each round. To make sure the paint is fully dry before moving onto the next step, let it sit for 24 hours. Trace or print out a monogram stencil (you could even buy one if you’re pressed on time). And just use a glitter spray paint to fill in the stencil. Before removing the stencil wait 2-3 minutes, so that you’ll be left with crisp lines free of any paint bleed. Then, finish it off with a finishing coat! Young, Broke, and Fabulous: The 20 - Something Guide to Audulting Whether you’re still in University or living a ‘grown up’ life out in the real world; ‘adulting’ can definitely be a bit of a drag. It’s especially difficult with the added pressures of balancing your desire to cut loose and at the same time, staying on top of your responsibilities.

Since you’re fabulous, here are some tips to help you along your way: 1. Cut Out Toxic People From Your Life

Let’s face it; being in your 20s is tough. You’re trying to find your place in the world – which is scary! A lot of young adults find themselves lost (yes that was a purposeful oxymoron).

Like the favourite top that’s all worn out and faded, but you refuse throw away –old toxic friends are like that too. Sometimes, we struggle to distance ourselves from old friends that do more harm than good. Like that raggedy top, these people no longer fit!

First things first, if you are one of the 99.9% 20-somethings that feels like you have no clue what you’re doing, you’re not the only one.

In your twenties you are not only finding your way in life, but you are in a time of tremendous growth. It’s essential to keep people that help you pursue your goals as well as

distancing or even cutting off people who do not. 2. Start Making More Friends That Share Similar Passions With You Even though you may have tons of friends in school, they may not all stick when you’re out in the real world. Ensure you surround yourself with a circle of people who have similar goals as you. When you’re outside of campus and in the workforce, it’s quite difficult to make new friends. Even though the process of meeting new people has changed, focusing on you first is crucial. You need to pursue your own passions and figure out which direction you want to head in. Once you have that sorted out, don’t be afraid to reach out to people doing

what you’re doing, networking through mutual friends, and making the first move! 3. Don’t Wait To Be Taught, Teach Yourself Your 20s is a great decade to learn and indulge in the knowledge your

heart desires. The great thing about being an adult is that you make your own decision and strut to the beat of your own heart – so do just that! The beauty is: you don’t have to wait for someone to teach you what you want to know – you can

young, broke, and fabulous Status seek out the resources and teach yourself. Especially in this digital age, often times almost everything you need to know on a subject, can be found Online. 4. Put your Eggs In Multiple Baskets Life never goes how you plan it. That’s the bottom line. Have plans, back-up plans, and back-up back-up plans. You need to have several different ideas of what directions you see yourself going.

Of course it’s much easier said than done. But it’s important to seriously have a goal and have several different alternate paths to get there. There is no ‘one way’ when it comes to goals; being inventive and adaptive can make or break it. 5. Create a Vision Board This is a great technique if you’re not sure where to start in achieving your goal. Organiz-

ing your ideas in a physical visual representation, allows you to face your dreams face-to-face. Whether it is your dream job, fitness goal, a luxury vacation, or even a person you idolize – put a picture on your vision board and look at it every day. This will help you set your goals, visualize them, and go after them – acting as a daily reminder. The wonderful part of a vision board is that you can change your mind. You can even re-do your vision board as often and however you want. 6. Stay Positive It’s hard to smile when you can’t find a job; you are not where you had thought you’d be at the age you are, or you are going through the motions of adulthood. But it’s important to keep a positive outlook on your future. Every single person has their own journey. Comparing or beating yourself up over failed expectation isn’t going to do any Page 11
