NEWS Bites

G

ood news for first time buyers! According to the Council of Mortgage Lenders (CML) in December 2010, the amount of deposit required for first time buyers to secure a mortgage is at its lowest level since the credit crisis hit. This is good news for first time buyers in a market which has severely restricted lending levels. The CML also reported that total lending is at its lowest level in nearly a decade. Despite this, lenders have continued to gradually relax their criteria, making it easier for first time buyers to get onto the property ladder.

which indicates that the market expects an increase in interest rates soon. This would explain why we have seen fixed rate mortgages increase by about 0.2%-0.5% recently. If the interbank lending rate increases so does the cost of funds for lenders, hence the increase. For those borrowers who have been sitting on the fence waiting to secure a long term fixed rate, now would be a good time to reconsider your options. Please note that this article is based on personal opinion and cannot constitute advice. We strongly recommend people seek independent financial advice when reviewing their mortgage. YOUR HOME MAY BE REPOSSESSED IF YOU DO NOT KEEP UP REPAYMENTS ON YOUR MORTGAGE

Lenders to face a tough year. Far be it for me to take pity on the banks, but, they do face some real challenges this year. The Special Liquidity Scheme (SLS) was introduced by the Bank of England in April 2008; its main purpose was to enable banks to swap their mortgage backed securities with more liquid assets (treasury bills) so that they could use these to raise the required funds from the market. The bad news is that the scheme was only for three years and the Bank of England now wants its money back, adding further pressure on lenders to raise the required funds. Whilst support mechanisms like SLS are being withdrawn, lenders will struggle to increase lending.

Landlords take note - banks write off debt for landlords The Financial Times (page M1 - 15.1.11) has recently reported that several UK and Irish banks that received government bail-outs are offering to write off up to 25% of a mortgage debt for professional landlords and developers, just to encourage them to move to new lenders. Anglo Irish Bank, Bank of Scotland and Royal Bank of Scotland have been known to arrange similar deals. Also, Bradford and Bingley and Mortgage Express, now owned by the Government, are still advertising to waive any early redemption charge for borrowers who remortgage elsewhere. Although the banks do not tend to publicise these incentives, it’s always worth making enquiries.

Will inflation force interest rates up? This topic has dominated the headlines. Rising commodity prices and a weak pound mean that the cost of living is increasing too fast. The general consensus seems to be that rates will rise between 0.5% and 1% this year, with a similar increase next year. However, if commodity prices continue to rise at the same pace, the interest rate rise could be accelerated. The interbank lending rates have all increased recently

We each chose a relaxing and a ‘proper’ massage treatment’ to test both ends of the spectrum of treatments on offer, and of course the capabilities of the therapists. My Sports Massage was not for the faint hearted but, my goodness, did my body feel amazing afterwards - plus I then rewarded myself with a beautifully relaxing facial and a snooze in the quiet zone afterwards! LUXURIOUS SPRING FASHION ESSENTIALs

O

nline women’s retailer, Sotto e Sopra, are offering a range of luxurious eco friendly tops in a variety of essential basic styles and colours, which are the perfect foundation for this season’s latest looks. The range of tops has been developed by Christine Foden, who runs a fashion colour consultancy business. It includes a beautiful Rosa colour that works as part of this year’s key spring colour trend for pink/ coral shades. The cooler family Mountain Blue, Aquamarine and Soapstone shades are also ideal for inclusion in a spring wardrobe. Sotto e Sopra tops are a year round wardrobe essential with a perfect selection of core shades including black and white, a soft classic bleached oatmeal, the soft mid-toned slate grey and taupe which will continue into the spring / summer seasons being extremely popular and versatile staple colours. The tops are made from Lyocell, a soft and luxurious fabric which fits like a second skin. It is an eco friendly fabric harvested from sustainable eucalyptus forests and manufactured using a closed loop system to minimise use of chemicals. Sotto e Sopra also offers a range of beautiful corsages, which are the perfect spring accessory, making the tops look that little bit more special. Christine Foden, co –owner of

Sotto e Sopra, said: “My business partner Pauline and I launched the range of tops as we feel passionately that good quality basic tops are wardrobe essentials which can often be over looked. “Our range of tops offer the perfect foundations for a stylish outfit and are ideal for layering with the season’s latest looks. Our tops fit perfectly and feel like a second skin, helping women feel good from the inside out.”

Editor’s Review I can highly recommend this beautiful range of fashion essential tops having tested one in taupe.

Available in a range of colours and styles the tops are priced between £35 and £60 and are available from www.sottoesopra. co.uk.

I purposely chose this warm, neutral shade as it teams up with most things and the styles designed by Sotto e Sopra are perfect for dressing up or down.

Further information about Sotto e Sopra’s range of tops can be found at the company website: www.sottoesopra.co.uk

My top teams with jeans for a casual look or with tailored trousers and accessories for a more formal occasion. The material is also possibly the easiest to care for I have ever come across and feels truly like a second skin.

Many compliments later - I would recommend that you visit their website and see what you think. I have already made my second purchase!

E

verything you need to know about The New Ellington in Leeds is right here in this review. Tucked away in York Place, a short walk from Wellington Street, you find a sleek, stylish, warm and friendly hidden gem, the kind you discover very rarely and you want to tell everyone about!

Everything about this place was so much to our taste, from the tasteful contemporary decor and the large wall hangings of Duke Ellington and other jazz icons of that era, to the great jazz music in the background and the warm welcome and easy atmosphere; it made us wonder why we hadn’t heard of it before.

We discovered The New Ellington, a boutique hotel, is the perfect meeting place to unwind over a few drinks with friends or colleagues; get away for a weekend of shopping or to experience the Leeds nightlife; or, as we found out, to enjoy their amazing restaurant which offers a fabulous dining experience. Plus being only a ten minute walk from the centre of Leeds, you are far enough away from the noise and hustle and bustle of a busy city centre yet near enough to cut enjoy every aspect of what Leeds has to offer. We started our evening in their Gin Bar; the only one in Leeds. As a firm gin drinker I was in my element - however, their menu is so impressive that I needed a bit of guidance as to which one to choose. We were to discover over the course of our visit that every member of The New Ellington team is fabulously slick and very knowledgeable. I was recommended a gin from the USA called Death’s Door and it was sold to me so succinctly that my husband Dave opted for one too! We were not disappointed and were it not for the fact that we were driving we would have polished off the bottle!

We chose our meal while enjoying our gins and tonics. For the starter i chose the Pan-fried queenie scallops, clam and spring onion risotto, smoked bacon and herb bread crumbs, while Dave opted for the Pie and Mushy Peas as starters (this was unbelievably good and to put your minds at rest – it was a miniature size as a starter so whetted the appetite perfectly). For our mains I picked the Moroccan Style Lamb Three Ways, deep fried spinach, red peppers, apricot & toasted almond couscous and Dave went for the pan fried Breast of Mathison Farm Duck, braised cabbage, honey roasted turnips, thyme jus & orange reduction. We also decided to sample their monster homemade chips fried in goose fat!Sounds delicious? It certainly was, and we each accompanied our meals with a glass of different wine as recommended by the restaurant manager, Tom. We were also served delicious homemade breads. It was truly hard to fault, but we can’t let them get off with a perfect review so our one bit of feedback for improvement is that their portion sizes are too generous and we could not manage one of their fabulous puddings! This does of course mean we will have to make a return visit, and I think next time we will stay over so that we can polish off that bottle of gin!

Fish & Chips The Webster family have been producing quality fish and chips for over 25 years and, rebelling against the recession, chose 2010 to open their most exciting venture yet. In Idle on Bradford Road they opened an 80 seat restaurant with separate take-away and coffee and ice-cream lounge attached. The premises are light, modern and airy with a relaxed, welcoming feel. There is disabled access and facilities, ample parking and large parties can be accommodated for. The restaurant menu has traditional fish and chips but also offers modernity and diversity in its healthy options, vegetarian alternatives and gluten-free batter. They also have free wi-fi and a carefully selected wine list - fish and chips have never been so grown-up!

Ann Webster, co-owner and the force behind ‘Websters’ said of the new site: “I have always wanted to present fish and chips a little differently to our traditional restaurant in Baildon but have never found the time. My son Andrew showed an interest in taking on a bigger project than the take-aways that he was used to running and my husband, Michael and I jumped at the chance to support him. In addition to the new restaurant we wanted to add something different to this new project. All of us coffee lovers, we decided to provide freshly-ground speciality coffees in a relaxed environment, welcoming families and business people alike. We also wanted to recreate the lovely ice-cream parlours that you see abroad. There is no reason why our weather should put people off eating ice-cream. Ours is sourced from the Yorkshire Dales and is 100% natural. We have created a fresh, bright environment in the coffee shop and take-away and we hope people will want to use them as a casual place to meet, greet and eat.’

L

ocal brothers Nick and Jean Paul, run Armour Glaze, a double glazing repair specialist company. Their family business leads the way in replacing sealed glass double glazing units in either UPVC, wood or alluminium frames and they can supply the very latest in energy-saving window technology. If you want to improve your carbon footprint, have you considered Low-e glass? Low-e glass varies from normal clear glass in that one side of the glass has a special metal coating, technically known as a low emissivity coating. This increases the energy efficiency of windows so that in the winter your house stays warmer, and in the summer it stays cooler. Nick said: “Many double glazing companies on seeing misted glass units will tell you that it cannot be fixed, and will then try to sell you a new conservatory or new windows. At Armour Glaze we specialise in replacing only the misted units at a fraction of the cost.” A customer of Armour Glaze, Ann from Bingley, tells us about her experience.

“I called two reputable companies to look at the misted windows in my conservatory, both said the problem could not be fixed and both recommended a new conservatory. After hearing about Armour Glaze, I asked them to take a look. Thank goodness I did, my conservatory now looks as good as new and the cost was over £5,000 cheaper than the nearest quote! I was very happy with their work and thought they were wonderful,” she said “There are many other reasons why you might want to call Armour Glaze, apart from having steamed up windows,” said Nick. “You might be bored with your leaded windows and want more light, or you might want to freshen up your front door. Just like the windows, we can change the door panel at a fraction of the cost of a new door.” Sue from Gilstead agreed. She commented “I was so happy with the way Armour Glaze transformed my conservatory and bedroom windows that I recommended them to a friend who was also very happy with their work.”

Exceptional Performance + Breathtaking Dynamism A

udi presents the R8 Spyder 5.2 FSI quattro. Its lightweight cloth top opens and closes fully automatically; several body parts are made of a carbon fiber composite material.

composite. Two arched cowls, which extend to the spoiler lip and include large, integrated air vents, give the rear of the open-top two-seater a powerful profile.

The V10 engine produces 386 kW (525 hp) and launches the open-top two-seater to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) in 4.1 seconds on its way to a top speed of 313 km/h (194.49 mph). Featuring technologies such as the Audi Space Frame (ASF), quattro permanent all-wheel drive, full-LED headlights and with an innovative seatbelt microphone available as an option, the R8 Spyder 5.2 FSI quattro is the new top-of-the-range Audi.

Like every open-top Audi, the R8 Spyder 5.2 FSI quattro has a cloth top - an uncompromising solution for a high-performance sports car. The soft top’s approximate weight is a mere 30 kilograms (66.14 lb); it thus keeps the vehicle’s total weight and center of gravity low. The top takes up little space when open and is a harmonious design element when closed. It tapers off to two slim fins extending to the trailing edge of the car, emphasizing the elongated silhouette.

The Audi R8 Spyder 5.2 FSI quattro makes a powerful statement. The sculptured lines of the emotion-packed, high-performance sports car are a fascinating and unique interpretation of its dynamism. Unlike the Coupé, the Spyder does not have sideblades behind the doors. The side panels and the large cover over the storage compartment for the cloth top are made of a carbon fiber

The electrohydraulic soft top opens and closes in 19 seconds, even while driving at speeds up to 50 km/h (31.07 mph). When opened, it folds like a Z into its storage compartment over the V10 engine. The compartment cover opens and closes automatically. The heated glass window, which is separate from the cloth top, is lowered into the bulkhead. It can be independently raised and

lowered at the press of a switch, with the top up or down. An additional net-like wind deflector comes standard and can be latched into the bulkhead behind the seats in two easy steps. The top, which comprises an outer skin of a leakproof textile fabric and the headliner, is fully compatible with highspeed driving. When driving at moderate speeds with the top up, interior noise levels in the R8 Spyder are barely higher than in the Coupé. The bulkhead includes integrated rollover protection in the form of two strong, spring-tensioned plates. Head/thorax side bags in the backrests protect the passengers in the event of a side impact. Full-size airbags stand at the ready in the event of a head-on collision. In a rear-end collision, the integral head restraint system reduces the risk of whiplash injuries. In the version with manual transmission, the R8 Spyder 5.2 FSI quattro weighs only 1,720 kilograms thanks primarily to its aluminium Audi

Space Frame (ASF) body. Despite reinforcements in the area of the sills, the center tunnel, the rear wall, the floor pan and the A- and B-pillars, the body weighs only 216 kilograms (476.2 lb) - just 6 kilograms (13.23 lb) more than that of the R8 Coupé. The high stiffness of the ASF body, which includes an integrated engine frame of ultra-lightweight magnesium, provides the foundation for the car’s dynamic handling and superior safety.

BEST FOUR YEARS OF MY CAREER A

n emotional Andrew Hughes bid a tearful farewell to Leeds United by describing his time at the club as the “best four years of my career.”

It made me appreciate playing in teams that fans expect to win all the time. The pressure of playing for a club like that is something a lot of players never get to experience.

Hughes joined Scunthorpe United on an 18 month contract in January and his departure severed one of the final links with the infamous ‘minus 15 season’, leaving only Jonny Howson and Ben Parker remaining from the start of that 2007/08 campaign.

A lot of players go along their career happy to play mid-table football and maybe enjoy a good cup run, but to go out every week knowing you had to win, that you were favourites to win, and every team you were playing against - it was their big game, is something that as a footballer I’ve never experienced before.”

He made 137 appearances for the club - his only goal came at Millwall in April 2008 - and he started 38 of the 46 league games during our promotion winning season last term “Leeds United brought me the best, most turbulent, up and down, four years of my career,” said Andrew. “Last year was the best year of my career. My wife and I moved here, having had a lot of bad luck off the pitch trying for a child, we came to Harrogate through the world of doctors a miracle happened, and we had a child. My wife has got closer to her family in Manchester and what Leeds has done for me, my wife and my daughter I can’t thank the people of Leeds and the club enough. Off the pitch I never want to leave Yorkshire it means so much to us. I would love to come back one day and help the club. People say that clubs ‘save’ players and I would say that Leeds saved my career and gave me the biggest kick up the rear. It changed me.

30

Hughes admits he was disappointed in the first instance when time was called on his Leeds career and a deal was agreed for him to move on to Scunthorpe United. While excited about the new challenge at Glanford Park, the 33 year old says leaving Leeds was a massive wrench. “I’m upset, I won’t lie,” he said. “The training ground and the facilities…Scunthorpe is in a similar position to when I came here, near the bottom with a lot of young kids, and it’s a challenge. I’ll still come to Leeds games. I like the staff there, I got on well with everyone there, and I believe Leeds will get promoted. When Reading got promoted, the players were on a par, but I believe the players at Leeds will be better. Reading had the Steve Sidwells, the Kitsons, and here you’ve got Jonny Howson,

Rob Snodgrass, Lloyd Sam, Max Gradel… there’s the experience of Andy O’Brien, Kasper Schmeichel, George McCartney. You’d be surprised how many players want to come to Leeds. I believe the club will get promoted 100 per cent. I feel it has momentum and this club deserves it. They have the facilities, the players, and the manager. They deserve it.” And Hughesy’s final message to Leeds United fans? “My message to the Leeds fans is that this club has been the most amazing four years,” he said. “It’s been ups and downs and it’s been emotional. My wife was upset because she knows how much it meant to me. To play for Leeds United after what this club has done and to win something with Leeds United, okay it was a promotion from League One, but to say I won something with Leeds United, and to do in front of these fans in that way is the biggest honour.” * Eddie Gray is urging all Leeds United fans to join him by taking part in the Leeds 10k run this summer. The race takes place on Sunday June 19.

Toughest Pre-Season Yet For The Rhinos

R

hinos star Lee Smith says that this pre-season has been one of the toughest in his time at the Club and he says he feels great on the back of it.

training camp least year we were delighted to be invited back once again.”

Rhinos in the PINK on the road Leeds Rhinos revealed a new look for their alternative kit for the new 2011 season and for the first time have released a full leisurewear range to accompany the design of the kit.

Smith missed out on last year’s pre-season after his brief sojourn into Rugby Union with London Wasps but says he and his team mates have really been put to the test in their preparations for the new season: “Preseason has been great, if I am honest it has been one of the toughest I have ever had. I played on New Year’s Day and again against Featherstone and Crusaders and getting some game time under my belt before the start of the season has been really good for me ahead of the new season,” added Smith. The hard work appeared to be paying off as the Rhinos looked in impressive form when they took on fellow Super League side Crusaders in their pre-season fixture in Wrexham and new Leeds Rhinos Head Coach Brian McDermott said he was pleased with his side’s progress. The Rhinos led the Welsh side 14-0 at half time thanks to two tries from Ryan Hall and one from Keith Senior. They wrapped up the win with a further two scores from Ben JonesBishop and a late effort from the impressive Carl Ablett.

The pink and navy kit will be worn throughout the 2011 season with fans also able to purchase polo shirts, t-shirts, hooded tops, hats and scarves all featuring the pink theme. The Club has extended the range of sizes available for the replica shirt following feedback from supporters. The shirt is priced £42.50 for adults, £32.50 for junior shirts and £27.50 for toddler shirts. Away replica shorts are £19 whilst juniors are £17 and socks are £6.50. Rob Burrow have added extra spice to their pre-season training schedule on the eve of the new Super League season by fine tuning their culinary skills in the kitchen at Trio in Headingley. The Rhinos team will ensure they have all the right ingredients for a successful campaign when they are put through their paces at a training camp near Bedale, North Yorkshire, this week.

Speaking after the game McDermott said: “It was pleasing to keep them out and for us to finish off some good opportunities. There are some things we still need to work on before the season starts but that is good, that will keep our feet on the ground. I thought the scoreline was not a reflection on how tight the contest was and Crusaders made us defend desperately at times.”

In addition to making their final preparations on the pitch for their showdown against Bradford Bulls at the Millennium Stadium on 13th February, they will also be actively involved in preparing, cooking and serving their pre and post-training session meals under the guidance of Arc Inspirations Food Development Manager John Richold.

Rhinos Stars Conjure Up a Recipe for Success Leeds Rhinos players Kevin Sinfield and

Martin Wolstencroft, Managing Director of Arc Inspirations, said: “I’m very proud of our partnership with the Rhinos. After hosting their

The kit features main Club sponsors Leeds Building Society on the front of the chest as well as on the shorts with LSS remaining across the shoulders, Berry’s on the front chest and Leeds Metropolitan University on the sleeve. There are two new sponsors on the shirt for 2011 with Hesco Bastion on the front collar and O’Hara & Co on the lower back. The shorts once again feature the logo of GRK Construction. The kit has been produced by the Rhinos official merchandise partner ISC for the fourth year running.

DEFEND, DEFEND, DEFEND, DEFEND, DEFEND...

W

hat an ironic and sarcastic chant drifting from the City faithful at the new surroundings of the Kassam Stadium Oxford. This pretty much summed up one of the most defensive displays I and many others have witnessed watching Bradford City, indeed with more than 50 seasons under my belt I can’t recall a more one sided game of football ever. This also sums up the way our manager sets up his teams to play and to the average supporter it really isn’t an attractive way of playing football. Some may say that football is a results industry but surely in that equation entertainment should figure somewhere. We did see a two game spell where the team played the type of football the fans require, this against Lincoln City and Bury, however these results were soon forgotten as defeats against Barnet, Oxford and Aldershot quickly followed. The game at Lincoln was on New Year’s Day and what a great sight it was to see the Bradford City Assistant Kitman Graham Duckworth finish his 24 hour, 73 mile non stop walk from Bradford to Lincoln with one hour to spare. A great effort by Graham which helped to raise over £5,000 for the Bradford Burns Unit.

Now languishing in the lower reaches of the 4th tier of English football with a -9 goal difference, supporting Bradford City isn’t easy and you may well understand any City fan questioning his or her loyalty to the Club. Talking of loyalty, rumours were circulating around Valley Parade throughout the Bury game that our manager Peter Taylor had been approach by Newcastle Utd to take up a role working for their manager Alan Pardew. This turned out to be true and apparently the Bradford City board had agreed to talks taking place between Taylor and Newcastle. At one stage it looked as though Taylor would be heading to the North

32

East but then he did a U-turn and decided the job at Bradford hadn’t been finished yet and vowed to fight on - which left a few fans of the Bantams puzzled or seething. It’s fair to say Peter Taylor has split the Valley Parade faithful and in these very testing times it’s difficult to see why we follow our beloved team. A group of us were featured on the BBC Late Kick off programme travelling to Aldershot, it was a feature the BBC ran to ask what makes football fans want to travel to the other side of the country to watch 4th tier football on a cold January evening. Well that trip was certainly fraught with problems as anyone who watched the programme will know. The journey was going well until the vehicle we hired decided it didn’t want to go to Aldershot and promptly gave up around six miles from the M25. We of course were not beaten and a frantic dash by taxi at a cost of £90 from Hemel Hempstead to Aldershot saw us arrive with two minutes played in the game. Thanks must go to the City fans who returned us to Hemel Hempstead and to the RAC who delivered us home to Bradford around 4am the following day. I’m still trying to work out why we do it. I suppose it’s in our blood and we can’t help ourselves. Please if anyone knows of a cure could you please let me have the recipe? So what will be in store for the rest of the season? A quick glance at the fixture list shows we have some pretty hard games to come and it will take a big effort to climb the league. Even the most ardent City fan will be thinking the play offs are out of the question but we all know that fortunes can change dramatically in football. So here’s hoping the cries of defend, defend, defend, defend, defend are changed to those of euphoria and triumph. Here’s hoping for an upturn in fortune and a bit of luck. CTID

BY STUART DUFFY

New Look Bulls for 2011 I

t’s all change for the Bulls in 2011 with a new Coach, Assistant and a host of new players as the Club tries to put the lack of success over the past few years behind it.

Mick Potter is now installed as Coach making a welcome return to the Club he spent three years with as assistant to Matt Elliott in the late 90s. After spending the past four years in Super League, with Catalans Dragons and latterly St Helens, Michael is well schooled in what is needed to bring success back to the Club. Joining him, to work alongside Lee St Hilaire and Conditioner Geoff Evans, is former Leeds player and Coach, Francis Cummins. Francis spent 16 years at Headingley and developed as a Coach under Tony Smith and Brian McLennan. He is a welcome addition to the Bulls staff for this season. Mick Potter wasted no time in bringing in a whole host of new faces. French Captain Olivier Elima is well known to his new Coach having spent two seasons with him in Perpignan. A strong running Back Row Forward, he will be a big asset to the Club over the next two years. Joining him from overseas are Utility Back, Patrick Ah Van and Marc Herbert. Patrick, who has represented both the Junior Kiwis and Samoa, joins from the New Zealand Warriors and has size and pace whilst Scrum Half Marc comes to the Club from Canberra Raiders. He has plenty of ability and can run the side around the park. The Bulls were adjudged to have a lack of pace last year and that has certainly been put right in the close season. Mick Potter has brought in Shaun Ainscough from Wigan and Gareth Raynor who had a spell at Crusaders last season. Ainscough certainly knows the way to the try line and has plenty of pace whilst Raynor will be keen to get back to the form that saw him win International honours a few seasons ago. Also joining the Club this year is Centre Chev Walker. Chev had a great spell at Leeds and was in fine form for Hull KR, whom he joined after a disappointing spell with Bath RUFC – where he didn’t settle- but broke

his leg in the Play Off game, ironically at Headingley, in 2009. The injury kept him out for most of last season but he is now fully fit to resume his career at Odsal. Keeping up the Leeds connection is new Hooker Matt Diskin. The Bulls moved quickly when they were informed of his availability and he has signed a three year contract at Odsal. He is a high quality player and will complement the skills of Heath L’Estrange immensely. Also joining the ‘Engine Room’ are Forwards Bryn Hargreaves and Ian Sibbit. Sibbit is a very experienced Back Row Forward who has played for Warrington and Salford as well as spending a year at Melbourne Storm. He will be a great asset and will add strength in depth to the squad for next season. Bryn Hargreaves was quickly snapped up by Mick Potter when he became available from St Helens, his Coach having great faith in his ability to add enormously to the Bulls Front Row. Utility Back Shad Royston joins the Club from Halifax. He has been the leading try scorer at each of his clubs every season since coming to England and, although he came through the ranks at Cronulla Sharks, he does not count as an overseas player because of his time spent in England. He was the Championship’s joint leading try scorer last season with 30 and, with 103 tries in 102 appearances for Halifax, he is confident he can make the step up to Super League. The Bulls have also kept faith with their youth policy over the past few years and Danny Addy, Vinny Finigan, Cain Southernwood and Steve Crossley should all join James Donaldson, Elliott Whitehead and Tom Olbison in getting plenty of game time this season. Four more of the Club’s young players are in the First Team Squad and the Club has high hopes for Academy International, Adam O’Brien, Tom Burgess and 16Year- olds, John Bateman and Liam McAvoy. So plenty of changes for the Bulls this off season and everyone at the Club is certainly looking forward to the big kick off at the Millennium Stadium in February.
