THE YORKSHIRE CLINIC

Doesn’t every woman? Well I have discovered a fantastic facial treatment at The Lodge, located adjacent to The Yorkshire Clinic, called Crystal Clear. There’s Crystal Clear Microdermabrasion, Crystal Clear Oxygen Therapy and Crystal Clear Total Skin Care.

What I enjoyed the most was the application of the Crystal Clear Mini Mask Lift; I was so impressed by this product that I had to buy some! It felt like a thick rubber mask as it set on my face and it lifted off in one complete rubber face, but my skin was left like pure velvet.

I chose to experience the Oxygen Therapy Facial, favoured by many of today’s celebrities, and if it’s good enough for them then I definitely needed to try it!

The whole treatment started with a deep cleanse, followed with revitalising tonic to energise the skin. My face and neck then received the Crystal Clear Oxygen Face Polish to stimulate skin repair, this was followed with the brightening complex and skin repair serum, helping to reverse the damage caused by everyday living in today’s hectic and toxic world. Then came my wonderful mask, and finally the Crystal Clear Oxygen Serum that treats the skin from the very core. My treatment was complete. I couldn’t wait to look in the mirror – oh my goodness! My skin truly looked much younger, fresher and rejuvenated. I was told the results would be visible immediately but I never believe the hype until I see it for myself...and here it was, the proof was staring back at me in the mirror!

I was warmly greeted by therapist Georgina Womersley. Georgina was extremely knowledgeable about the treatment I was about to have and explained why Crystal Clear is so popular. Oxygen Therapy replenishes lost oxygen to the skin, and the active ingredients in the serum restructure the skin from the inside out, visibly plumping lines and wrinkles while firming the skin around the eyes, face and neck. I could hardly wait! However, as excited as I was to see the results, I have to say that Georgina expertly relaxed me and put me to sleep within minutes of the treatment starting. I was just so relaxed, and my skin felt as if it was drinking in moisture and plumping up as I dozed...sounds ridiculous I know, but that’s just how it felt.

Yes, I’ve booked a course of treatments! Well there’s an offer on, if you buy 5 treatments you get the 6th treatment free and by that time I will no doubt look 20 years younger! Even if I don’t, The Lodge is one of those wonderful retreats where you experience complete peace and relaxation and 10 years younger will suit me fine!

To book your own course of Crystal Clear facials on the offer, call Georgina today on Tel: 01274 550590. Oxygen Facial £45 per Treatment Microdermabrasion and Oxygen Facial £55 per Treatment Buy 6 Treatments and Get 7th Treatment FREE!

Sole2heal Reflexology Stressed? Finding it difficult to relax? Hard to control your anger? Lack of motivation or concentration? Can’t sleep? If you have answered “Yes” to one or more of these questions, then like me, you need to visit Jaine Tideswell of Sole2heal Reflexology. “I was definitely stressed and having difficulty sleeping and would never have thought that reflexology could be the answer, until I met Jaine. Through having fortnightly reflexology sessions with Jaine at her practice in LA Fitness, Yeadon, my whole mind and body seem to have been completely rebalanced. Gone are the fitful sleep patterns and my stress levels and feelings of anxiety have reduced dramatically. Jaine was also able to identify certain imbalances and ailments I had been suffering from and the symptoms of these have also completely disappeared! I always time my visits for the end of Friday as the treatment is so relaxing I always fall asleep, then go home, relax and sleep like a baby, able to enjoy the weekend ahead. The wonderful thing about this treatment is that it can be received by anyone, any age and I recommend Jaine at Sole2heal Reflexology without hesitation, in fact most of my family are now with Jaine, we wish we had discovered her years ago! Now you know about her, what are you waiting for?” Angela Riches, Editor of Here & Now

when teamed with black or animal print accessories. No designer does this better than Fever London! One shoulder Empire line cocktail dresses with a shaped, self supporting bust line will flatter any figure and will also lend themselves to other occasions throughout the year ahead, such as weddings, proms and balls. Bustier dresses with full chiffon skirts emphasise the waistline perfectly and give the illusion of an enviable hour glass figure and for all out glamour you can’t go wrong with a full length, block colour gown. Teamed with a stunning piece of jewellery you will look and feel a million dollars.

The Classic Court and Autumn Must Have Boots No one does footwear better than Moda in Pelle. From footwear staples to turning heads seductress courts and killer heels, this is what will complete every individual fashion look and make sure you are bang on trend. Court shoes whether flats or the highest of heels will complete your autumn/winter outfit and nude, black, red, animal print and diamante are the colours of choice this season.

Day Wear This season there are lots of dresses around. Knitted dresses feature heavily and not only will you be kept warm and cosy, you can adapt the look of these dresses very easily by teaming with one of the latest knee length boots and lovely thick tights, or wearing over leggings with an ankle or shoe boot. Fever London has some fantastic knee length dresses, plus a range of Empire line cotton shirt dresses that fit the bill perfectly.

Ankle boots and shoe boots are also this seasons ‘must haves’, however if you prefer a full leg boot then there is lots of choice and this year more than ever before, everyone will want to take advantage of the huge selection of gorgeous boots available.

Office to Evening With our busy lifestyles it’s often the case that we need to go straight from work to an evening out, and once again Fever London have some of the best adaptable designs to take you straight from the office to the restaurant! Pencil skirts and dresses are going to be huge this season, worn with a jacket for work; you can lose the jacket and add a chiffon bolero, some killer heels from Moda in Pelle and finish off with your Suzy Smith handbag and you’re set for the evening.

Party Fantastic The party season is just around the corner and shades of Nude are still very strong as is coral, both impressively dramatic

ow far are you prepared to travel to discover a fantastic boutique that stocks exclusive designer brands yet doesn’t charge city centre designer prices?

To be honest, we ladies will travel far and wide and remain loyal to those unique, independent boutiques that offer fashionable designs with realistic price tags that don’t break the bank; and if that boutique also provides each customer with their own unique shopping experience, then we are guaranteed to be loyal customers for life! Let me introduce you to Flouncy Flouncy, Bingley’s latest exciting addition. Flouncy Flouncy was started two years ago by local resident, Rebecca Mallinson, although the original concept was one focussing on designer and fashion jewellery and handbags which Rebecca sold to customers, their family and friends in the comfort of their own home, or by going into large corporate organisations and selling to their staff.

Opening on the 15th October at 4 Park Road, Bingley, Flouncy Flouncy’s new home has been transformed, with no expense spared, into a spacious, exclusive boutique where you will find affordable, straight from the catwalk designs by Fever London and Desigual, fantastic footwear by Moda in Pelle, jewellery by Nour London and Guess, Ted Baker watches and IceWatch, plus handbags by Suzy Smith and Littlearth! Rebecca’s vision for Flouncy Flouncy is to provide a city centre designer boutique that is accessible to everyone without them having to travel out of town, and to also have the luxury of lots of parking immediately outside the door. With exclusivity on all designer labels being stocked at Flouncy Flouncy, you are guaranteed an exciting, unique shopping experience, and the latest addition is Wedgewelly which was recently featured on Dragon’s Den and invested in by retail magnet, Theo Paphitis! The ladies of Bingley and surrounding areas are going to be the best dressed in Yorkshire! See you there.

However, two years on, Rebecca’s reputation for the highest quality products at realistic prices has seen her business grow

Step By Step Guide To Decorating A Christmas Tree By Sara Tuckey Of Aqua Florist

It’s always best to purchase your tree from a local British Christmas Tree Growers Association (BCTGA) grower, where you can personally select your perfect tree, freshly cut to your specific requirements. Try to avoid purchasing pre-netted trees as you won’t be able to see their shape or gauge how fresh they are. Look out for a nicely shaped tree with good strong branches and an even colour. Make sure that you have measured the space where your tree will be placed in your home there’s nothing more stressful than arriving home with a tree that barely fits through the door, or appears lost in a large room. Don’t forget to purchase a good quality metal tree stand, preferably with its own water reservoir. On arriving home, place the tree in a deep bucket of water for at least 12 hours and leave outside until you are ready to decorate it.

Step 1 - Prepare the tree Firstly, set up your tree stand, having conditioned the tree overnight in water. Next, don some gardening gloves and lift it out from the bucket and lay it on its side. Cut off the lower branches of the tree and put these to one side, leaving a clean bare stem to fit the depth of the stand. Lift the tree upright and drop

the base onto the ground several times - this tapping action will help the branches to drop slightly allowing you to choose the best ‘face’ of your tree.

decorations and sort them into groups of similar shapes, sizes and varieties before you start your display. Cut several lengths of green twine to help attach decorations to the tree.

are secure and carefully add some water to the reservoir in the stand. Plug the lights back on and stand back to admire your work and reward yourself with a glass of festive cheer!

Place the stand in the desired location away from any heat source to help preserve its indoor life and carefully secure the tree in place, making sure it is straight and showing its best side.

Step 4 - Adding the decorations

Final thought…

Step 2 - Let there be light There are an amazing array of tree lights available on the market and I would recommend the LED varieties as they are more economical to use and far safer than the old fashioned bulb lights. Plus you won’t waste hours checking which bulb is stopping the whole string from working! Having said this, always unwind the string of lights and plug in to check they are working. Unplug the lights and start by attaching the first bulb to the uppermost branch – which will act as an uplighter to your tree topper. Continue to work the lights through the branches in a downwards spiral making sure the bulbless spare wire ends up somewhere near the back of the tree and within easy reach of the plug socket.

Start by selecting the biggest items from your collection first and attach them to the ends of the larger branches, making sure to space them evenly around the tree.

Step 5 - Building up the layers Once you have added all the larger items, repeat the technique with the rest of your decorations, placing smaller items on smaller branches and making sure any important sentimental items that you may have are given pride of place. Keep going until you have built up layers of all the different shapes and sizes of decorations.

Step 6 - The finale

Step 3 - The decorations

If you have any garland style decorations, now is the time to add them to the tree. Attach them to the tips of the outer branches and loop them in between. Now you are ready to add the fairy (or topper of your choice) to the top of the tree.

It’s best to unpack your

Check all the decorations

When the festivities are over for another year, remember to dispose of your tree responsibly. Look out for local council recycling schemes or why not shred the tree yourself and use on your own garden as mulch?

Christmas bonus! Remember those lower branches you cut off the tree earlier? Here’s a great idea for making your tree even better value for money. Cut a selection of seasonal foliage from the hedgerows or garden - use ivy, berries, mistletoe and other evergreens. Trim the tree branches into assorted lengths and layer them on top of each other. Start with the larger flat branches from the tree and work your way up to the smaller pieces. Tie the whole bunch tightly together with strong garden twine to form a fabulous sheaf. Wire on some cones, bunches of cinnamon sticks, maybe even some fruit and add a bow. You are now the proud owner of a beautiful Christmas door decoration that will give a warm welcome to all your guests over the festive season!

Economic Overview

Market Overview

The economic rollercoaster ride continues. The politicians are really pinning all their hopes on the private sector to grow the economy out of its current troubles; there is no doubt that we are going to have a real struggle on our hands. According to JPMorgan, banks will have to hold more capital by January 2015 under new regulations introduced as part of Basel III. They estimate that banks need to make up about a £114bn shortfall in order to meet the requirements by 2015. The Independent Banking Commission goes one step further than this, putting more pressure on the banks. Critics of the Commission are concerned that this will have an impact on banks’ willingness to lend more. If banks don’t start lending, businesses will struggle to grow. Whilst I am in favour of improving financial stability, I can’t help but think we should defer these changes. It’s difficult to see how the economy is going to grow whilst these reforms are being pushed through in the midst of the planned spending cuts, high inflation, rising unemployment and sovereign debt concerns.

On a more positive note, rates continue to get even better! Have a look at the best buy table below. I have cherry picked some of the most attractive rates for residential remortgage customers. A free valuation and legal service is offered on all the products listed. It’s also pleasing to see a number of high loan to value products which have been introduced onto the market recently; this is welcome news for first time buyers and house developers. Skipton Building Society recently launched a product up to 95% loan to value and Aldermore has just released a 100% loan to value product. Although 100% finance is available, Aldermore do require an additional guarantee of 25% secured against the parents property. Please note this article is based on personal opinion and is intended as information only. It is recommended that you should seek independent mortgage advice personal to your circumstances. Deals can be withdrawn with little or no notice. YOUR HOME MAY BE REPOSSESSED IF YOU DO NOT KEEP UP REPAYMENTS ON YOUR MORTGAGE Thornhill Solutions Ltd prefers not to charge a fee as we are usually paid commission by the provider. However, as we are independent you do have a choice whether to pay a fee for the mortgage advice we provide or not. Typically this would be 0.3% of the loan amount and any commission received would be refunded back to you. All mortgage calculations and APRs are based on borrowing £150,000 over 25 years on a repayment basis.

JJB Reviews -

Jack Bottomley on Film

Out Now: Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy (15) This hugely complex and enormously fulfilling adaptation of John Le Carre’s, boasts a stellar British cast who each partake in some well written and executed roles. Gary Oldman is the forcibly retired British agent George Smiley who is invited back to solve the mystery of the Russian double agent, who is hidden in the high sector of the British Secret Service. Oldman is superb as an epically represented and consuming central figure and with any justice should be collecting his overdue Best Actor Oscar this upcoming year. The film also stars Colin Firth, Ciaran Hinds, Toby Jones and David Dencik as the lead suspects in high positions and if you are unfamiliar with the material the mystery is not an easy one to solve and leads to a gripping conclusion. Also co-starring are the game Benedict Cumberbatch and ever reliable Mark Strong, among a whole host of other talents, including equally top notch performances from Tom Hardy, John Hurt and Kathy Burke. The film wastes no name and with its slower and meaningful take on the Spy/ Thriller, this is a back-step to vintage thrillers where characters, story and substance came first. Possibly this year’s finest film.

The Inbetweeners Movie (15) After gripping the UK Box Office with a strong hand for four weeks at number one, this comedy has broken records. The awaited movie adaptation of the hugely successful TV Series, unites all the original cast for what is one heck of a crude and extremely rude riot. The plot is pretty by the books with the set of love struck lads on holiday for drink and girls and you have an idea where it’s going. Yet watching Will, Jay, Simon and Neil go on a disastrous holiday really has some great moments (an awkward dance, swimming pool controversy) and the writing is of the same calibre as the show, even if repetition wears things down. That said if you were not particularly a fan (like myself) or if you think of the Inbetweeners as puerile, juvenile, rubbish then this film may alter your perception none. However as an adaptation of a popular series, the film remains a faithfully strong profanity and sexual activity filled comedy romp, that fans will absolutely love.

Warrior (15) Tom Hardy and Joel Edgerton star as two brothers who each enter a Mixed Martial Arts tournament and each have their issues with their ex-alcoholic father, played by Nick Nolte. This is another Sports Drama that treads familiar ground and is often conventional, but what raises it into far greater territory are the performances. Both brothers are opposites with Hardy playing the hard faced army man with a conflicted interior and Edgerton playing the appealing family man with the heart of a lion. Also look out for an Oscar nomination for Nolte, who hasn’t been this good in years. This is a well filmed and gripping Sports Drama, that boasts stellar acting and in turn is entirely justified of some of the high praise it has received.

Coming Soon/Also Out Now: Johnny English Reborn (PG) 7th October The inept but charming agent is back, as Rowan Atkinson returns in this action-packed sequel as British Spy Johnny English. As English emerges from exile and back into the service to foil a plot to assassinate the Japanese Premier, costarring Dominic West and Gillian Anderson.

Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark (15) 7th October Guillermo del Toro produces this adaptation of the 1973 Horror, as a young girl experiences strange creatures that dwell in the dark, in her new home.

Paranormal Activity 3 (15) 21st October The third film in the Horror franchise, details are being kept secret but we do know that the film shows how Katie came to be haunted by this presence since childhood.

On this site you will see the Temporary Unoccupied House (TUH) form that we have re-introduced from a number of years ago. The idea of the form is to give householders, whilst away from their premises, peace of mind, and allowing the police to show an active uniform presence around houses that are temporarily unoccupied. The forms are available by calling in to Eccleshill Police Station or by clicking on the link below and e-mailing to us at hanpt5@westyorkshire.pnn.police.uk. The website will give you dates for forthcoming forums which are always attended by me or one of my sergeants. CONDENSATION PROBLEM SOLVED! n a series of exclusive articles for Here & Now readers, Michael Foster CSRT MIWSc Dip Surv, a qualified property defects surveyor with over 25 years experience in diagnosing and eradicating property defects explores several of the most common property problems homeowners experience. What they are, how treat them and where possible, how to prevent them…..

I

Michael is happy to offer all Here & Now readers a free telephone consultation if they have any questions about this or any other property care, repair or renovation problem. Please call him on 01943 877009

The second topic in our series is Condensation... In broad terms condensation is the formation of water in its liquid form from water vapour. Warmer air has the ability to carry moisture in the form of water vapour, when this air comes into contact with a cooler surface the water is released resulting in condensation. This occurrence can be exacerbated in areas where there is little or no airflow (such as the corner of rooms or where there are no open windows) or where there is increased moisture in the air – bathrooms and kitchens. Building designs, heating systems, poor ventilation and modern lifestyles combine to create high levels of humidity in our homes which contributes to condensation. Washing-up can release 1 litre of water vapour into the air in a Kitchen. A family of 4/5 people can create 1.5 litres of water vapour through 8 hours of sleep. This humidity is also an ideal habitat for dust mites, a major cause of asthma. Common signs of condensation include water on walls and windows. If left untreated, this can lead to unsightly and damaging mould growth across these and other surfaces including furniture. It can also produce an unpleasant musty odor. If you suspect you are experiencing condensation problems I would advise that you get a qualified surveyor to perform a survey. Consult the services of a specialist rather than a builderwho may misdiagnose the symptoms as damp leave you footing the bill for unneccessary work. Follow these simple tips to reduce condensation in your property. Dry clothes outside when possible and only use tumble dryers that are vented outside. Close bathroom/kitchen doors when bathing/cooking/drying clothes and open a window. Install and use extractor fans in high moisture production areas such as the bathroom and kitchen. Ventilate your property to ensure even consistent airflow (including wardrobes and cupboards which if overfilled do not let air circulate). Keep furniture away from exterior walls to allow air circulation Regulate your heating. Keep the property evenly and constantly heated If you require any further information on condensation or any other property defect matter, please contact Michael Foster at Pure Property Care on 0800 0320750 without obligation.

Finally, At Long Last, It Makes Hot Sexy Sense!

B

MW X6s and InďŹ niti FXes of the present, AMC Eagles of the past--the coupe-like crossover vehicle is a trend that's been in gestation a long, long time. And man, has it produced some ugly offspring.

Now it's spawned the 2012 Range Rover Evoque, and finally, at long last, it makes hot sexy sense. The Evoque may be the first truly sensuous SUV in history. It's a captivating stiletto heel in a closet full of Land Rover earth shoes. Some loose family features are appliqued on its taut, angular body--one that, you won't be surprised to hear, has a fan in the form of taut, angular hominid Victoria Beckham. But those are mostly for show, little geocaching leftovers of Range Rover's past. This soft-roader is all about tomorrow, and it lives to be seen with every hair in place, not covered in muck. Erase some of the Rover-bred notions you've applied to the Evoque's performance, the ones that imply trucky handling and rustic V-8 torque. There's even less Landie here. Derived from the LR2, the Evoque throws down an entirely fascinating new

30

gauntlet with its 240-horsepower, turbocharged four-cylinder. It's coarse on the go, with plenty of drivetrain noise and noticeable turbo lag, but the smallville drivetrain gives up nothing to the heavier, less strong LR2 and it sets the Evoque apart from the bigger Rovers that luxuriate in eight-cylinder streams of torque. It's an urgent, attention-craving piece, as whizzy as an Acura RDX, with similar fuel economy of 19/28 mpg. All-weather traction is a forte, given its Terrain Response dial-amode all-wheel-drive system, and the Evoque's steering does a great imitation of the units in compact Volvos and Fords. The light touch follows through to the most dynamic model, with its magnetically-controlled suspension and muted, supple ride. And it still has more than eight inches of ground clearance, should you get high-centered on some of the last-season stuff stacked on the curb at Saks. If you expect to give up a lot, other than extra cash, to fit into the Evoque lifestyle, you may want to try one on for size first. There's less room than the LR2, but the Evoque is wider, so overall interior volume isn't intolerable. Up front it's quite comfortable for adults, a little less so in the back seat but not

objectionably so, so long as you've bought into the coupe-like premise. What's not easy to swallow is a big adult gut, if you have to clamber into the back seat of three-door Evoques. Meanwhile, the car itself can tote almost a couple dozen cubic feet of luggage, no matter which body you choose. Land Rover's tackling the brand-stretching Evoque launch with three models and those two body styles. The five-door comes in Pure, Prestige and Dynamic models; the two-door skips Prestige trim. All versions have the standard-issue power features, entertainment features like Bluetooth, USB, and an LCD touchscreen to drive the Meridian audio system as well as phone and optional hard-drive navigation systems. Opt for Pure or Dynamic versions if you want splashy colors with twists of Alexander McQueen; get into a Prestige if your turn-ons include libraries, mahogany paneling, and anything by Laura Bennett. By any means possible, spend up for the panoramic roof, and let it light up the cocoon-like cockpit. It's toyed with hybrid concepts, but now Land Rover can lay claim to the greening of SUVs, since the Range Rover Evoque's slimmed-down body and downsized drivetrain pay it forward with better gas mileage and, by extension, a happy planet. But the Evoque does something even more historic: it shifts the whole Range Rover brand out of the SUV muck, and pitches it into the future on a savvy, fashionforward bias.

BULLS BEAT 10,000 BARRIER!

A

lthough on-field the action has finished for 2011, the Bulls have been very busy since the end of the season..

On Tuesday 20th September, the Bulls were delighted to announce, following another hugely winning campaign, that they had successfully attained over 10,000 pledges for the second year in a row through the “Bulls Pledge MMXII”.

busy as supporters rush to buy their 2012 membership at the phenomenal prices of £85 for the Terrace before 31st October – making the Bulls’ memberships the best value in Super League. For details of all Bulls events and to buy Membership Packages for 2012, call in at the Bull Ticket Office at Odsal Stadium or go to www.bradfordbulls.co.uk

Paying tribute at that time to the Bulls supporters, Chief Executive Ryan Duckett said: “We are once again delighted with our supporters’ response to our Pledge initiative. Following a very busy weekend the final Pledge total was confirmed at 10,243.” Duckett continued, saying: “With the players we have brought into the squad for 2012 I hope our supporters will be rewarded on the field with the squad showing the passion and commitment that the supporters’ loyalty deserves.” This means the Bulls Ticket Office is remaining extremely

RHINOS SET FOR SUPER LEAGUE GRAND FINAL eeds Rhinos secured their place in the Engage Super League Grand Final with a win over League Leaders Warrington Wolves. Brian McDermott’s side will now face St Helens at Old Trafford for the fourth time in a Grand Final. after his side’s dramatic win. Hall scored an interception try just after half time to get his side back into the game and then finished off one of the tries of the season when he took Danny McGuire’s offload after a sensational break by Rob Burrow. Speaking after the game he said: “Our supporters have been awesome throughout the play offs and I am speechless this is an incredible achievement. To reach a Grand Final from fifth when everyone has been writing us off all year is massive.”

“It’s very satisfying, this team has got integrity, courage and honour and even when things are not going in the right direction we haven’t once moaned. “I’m that proud of the players and glad for them that, for all stick they’ve copped this year, we find ourselves in the Grand Final,” he commented. After the game Leeds also announced that former Australian captain Danny Buderus will leave the club at the end of the current season to return to Newcastle Knights. Leeds’ double try scorer Ryan Hall said he was left speechless

IN OUT IN OUT SHAKE IT ALL ABOUT..... BUT DON’T MENTION THE RESULTS! hat a turbulent time we are having at Valley Parade at the moment. Some have suggested a Government health warning should be printed on every season ticket sold. What other club in England could have had such times over the last ten seasons.

W

We are now into October and already on our third manager after the shock news of Peter Jackson’s resignation. This piece of news rocked Valley Parade and all the followers of the Bantams. The following days and weeks were filled with rumours and speculation as to why Jacko had suddenly resigned. Some blamed the Chairmen or, to be more precise, Mark Lawn. Some blamed Archie Christie the man behind the scenes who gets things done. Others stories circulated but there is one thing for certain, only the people within the board room that day and Peter Jackson know the truth.I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of all City fans to say a big thanks to Peter for all his efforts and whilst the results may not have been great anyone who met the man would know he gave it his all. So for two games Colin Cooper took the reins and has the distinction of being the only manager this season to guide City to a win, even the Johnstone Paints Trophy game had a winning outcome against Sheffield Wednesday with City winning a dramatic penalty shoot out.

from both teams mingled together in the seating area. I suppose an air of acceptance descended on us in the second half and the banter was jovial, glad it wasn’t Elland Road.So the day could be summed up as nice place, nice people bad result. Back to Archie Christie a man behind the scenes at Valley Parade and head of Youth Development. This man is incredible and the work he does is immense, he’s even brought in two scouts who are ex Arsenal and ex Celtic, he is highly regarded throughout football and is responsible for many things behind the scenes. Now who had ever heard of George Green? Well City has sold the 15 year old youth player for £300,000 in a deal which could net us £2 million, George Green is described as a wonder kid and he is being compared to Gascoigne and Rooney. So good luck to the kid as he heads to Everton, let’s hope he has a bright future in the game. Also let’s hope the next time I pen this article our fortunes have changes and we’ve left Hereford and Plymouth well behind in the league.

The following week City’s third manager of the season was appointed and that man is Phil Parkinson, his playing career took in Southampton, Bury and Reading playing over 500 games whilst his management career started at Colchester before moving on to Hull and Charlton. With his appointment came another change in personnel and another shake up of the playing staff. Players in and players out the results are still the same but there does seem to be a glimmer of something when the football on the field shows an improvement. It does seem we have to score three goals a game to get a result but as Phil Parkinson says ‘we are evolving.’ Well let’s hope this evolving doesn’t take too long and the climb up the league will start, it’s not funny looking at the league table and thanking our lucky stars Hereford and Plymouth are in our league. Already this season we’ve had a taste of the many miles the ardent City faithful will have to travel on the road, Crawley being the first 500 mile plus round trip on a rain soaked motorway. However once the drag of the M25 was upon us the sun peeped through the clouds and brought us the only ray of sunshine that day.Crawley’s newly promoted team turned a one goal deficit into a 3-1 win and the long unhappy trip home began. We experience something that day not normally seen in football grounds and that was fans
