2019 Steps for Life recap When someone asks you why you do what you do, what’s your answer? “Why” questions can be hard because they ask us to articulate our core values and motivations. But sharing our “why” helps inspire others, connect communities, and build relationships. Those “whys” are what drive our annual Steps for Life – Walking for Families of Workplace Tragedy events across the country. Every year in Canada, close to 1,000 workers are killed on the job or die as a result of a work-related injury or illness. Thousands more are injured or become ill as a result of their work. Each of those families knows exactly why workplace safety is so important.
