LETTER FROM THE EDITOR

HELLO DLA JELLIES!

Mya Reyes 20-21 DLA Key Club News Editor

04

Welcome back to another addition of THE JAM! I hope this letter finds you all doing very well. This month’s newsletter theme has me super excited! Spirited Away (other Studio Ghibli Films too) holds such a special place in my heart, so I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it. This month we have also made our transition into the new school year online, which may be difficult for some of us, but I know we will get through it. We will also be offering many at home service events to best accommodate you. Please remember that our top priority is your safety, so in the case of an in person service event occurred and you don’t feel comfortable attending, we deeply understand. Without further ado, please enjoy your read!

HELLO EVERYONE “The Jam”, I’m glad you’re taking the moment to read. I hope you are all finding yourselves well along with your families. We have officially started the 2020-2021 school year :D. Despite this being the first time ever we have a different first day of school, please stay motivated, keep your head in the books, and use all resources that are provided to the best of your ability. As we finish off the first month of August and begin September, please remember to practice social distancing and wear a mask when in public places. Please take care of yourselves and others in order for this pandemic to end soon. The sooner this ends, the sooner we can see each other and do all the things we haven’t done :’).

With an immense passion for service, - Irma Gonzalez 20-21 DLA Key Club President

SERVICE AMERICAN LEGION Volunteering at American Legion is a very fun experience because you get to do good for your community and hangout with friends. While volunteering we make and serve meals to veterans and clean dishes. My highlight from serving at American Legion is getting to hangout and food after. - Kira Ruotsalainen 20-21 DLA Junior
