Soccer
On Tuesday, the Varsity Tide soccer team hosted the Neumann Goretti Saints in their last home game of the season as the Tide celebrated their Seniors. It was a great ceremony where we recognized Seniors, Ryan Samms ‘25, Matt Pascale ‘25, Reid Anderson ‘25, Luke Hodlofski ‘25, and John Barnhart ‘25. As for the game, the Tide played some of their best soccer all season by keeping a clean sheet and running away with a well deserved victory. Goals were scored by Blake Hostetter ‘27, Matt Pascale (3) ‘25, John Savage ‘26, Charlie Finnegan ‘26, Scott Cunningham (2) ‘28, Brendan ‘28, Ryan Samms ‘25, and Jason Kleiner ‘26.
On Wednesday evening, the MS Tide soccer team traveled to Great Valley to take on St. Norbert’s. The Tide played very well but continued to struggle to get the ball in the net. The Tide did a great job moving the ball and making the game competitive. Unfortunately, the Tide fell 2-0 to St. Norbert’s.
On Friday evening, both the JV and Varsity soccer teams traveled to Northeast Philadelphia to take on powerhouse, Roman Catholic. The Tide since joining the PCL 7 years ago have never come close to beating the Cahillites. The Tide had a new plan this year which put them them into a 0-0 double overtime thriller in which Drew Yusko ‘27 took advantage of a late breakaway opportunity to lift the Tide to a 1-0 shocker over the Cahillites. Braeden Fisher also played great between the pipes, adding another shut out to the season! This was exactly what the Tide needed to close out their final regular season game before PCL playoffs start next Wednesday!
Also, on Friday, the JV team played their last game of the 2024 season against Roman Catholic. Everyone played close to half the game but it was 0-5 at halftime. The Tide came out determined to perform better in the second half and they did but allowed 2 more goals. Losing a 0-7 game is tough to end the season with but the Tide played their best against a strong opponent and never gave up. Xavier Smith ‘28 made a couple of nice saves in the defeat. agains
