ROLL TIDE!

Soccer

The coaching staff is very excited for the 2024 season to begin. The boys have been working really hard throughout the offseason and preseason. The Tide expected both the JV and Varsity teams to take big steps this year. The goal is to put some respect on our name throughout the PCL, which for us means that teams will have to plan for us in each of our games. The Tide plans to continue to work hard so that each opponent struggles to capitalize on us. The Tide return nine starters from last year’s team and brought in a few newcomers that are pushing for starting positions. It should be an exciting year for Devon Pre soccer and we can’t wait to entertain our supporters.

Golf

Devon Prep’s 2024 golf team has a very high bar set for themselves. Coming off of a State Championship, this team returns five golfers and adds three new faces, all ready to make another run. The team captains (John Curran ‘25 and Andrew Carroccio ’27) have stepped up to lead a team that includes a steady group of underclassmen: Chris Pullano, ‘26 Pat Manion ’26, Jude McCann ‘26, Scott Cunningham ’28, Gavin Schraegle ‘28, and Ben Veith ‘28. This 2024 DP Golf Team is excited to compete and improve every day, and hopefully by the end of the season, they will contend for yet another PIAA State Championship.

Cross Country

The Devon Prep Cross Country Team is all set for the 2024 season! The team consists of 14 student-athletes that have recently started getting ready for the fall racing season! The Tide is led by captains, Pierce Rohlfing ‘25 and Sam Kleiner ’25, along with seniors Charlie Krug ‘25 and Wyatt Theissen ’25, the Tide has many returning runners and a few new to the sport as well! We will kick-off with a fun preseason race in West Chester on August 24th at the Oakbourne Relays. The official racing season, consisting of PCL meets at Belmont Plateau, plus several invitationals, will begin on Saturday, September 7th at Kutztown University. We are looking forward to an exciting season ahead!

Cross Country

Crew

The Devon Prep rowing team will return to the Schuylkill River in late August for the fall season. Led by seniors Chris DeMaio ‘25, Matt Norton ’25, and Nishan Shamlian ‘25, they will be complemented by returning rowers who are eager to build on their success from last spring's season, including a second place finish at the Philadelphia City Championships. This fall they will spend most of their time in small boats focusing on technique and endurance.

Our new rowers learn to row in our quads and focus on building an aerobic base for the spring season. The entire team will have the opportunity to race at the Head of the Christina (10/6), Navy Day Regatta (10/13), Head of the Schuylkill (10/27), and Hidden River Regatta (11/3).

Good luck to all of our studentathletes and coaches on their upcoming 2024 seasons!
