PHILOSOPHY

Devon Prep was founded by the Piarist Order under the motto of “Pietas et Litterae”, or “Piety and Learning”. The school promotes the Piarist fathers’ mission of preparing young men for the rigors of twenty-first century life by modeling, in word and deed, the Piarist values of charity, humility, patience, respect, and simplicity.

MISSION

Devon Prep is a private, Catholic, college preparatory school, grades 6-12, focused on the holistic education of young men for life.

“Devon has not only prepared me for college, but also for my future in the world.” – PATRICK ROHR, ‘15

ACADEMICS

“Devon Prep is an environment where anyone can learn their true potential.” – KEVIN MCCAULEY, ‘03

Devon Prep is a rigorous, exemplary academic institution. Our focus is on offering a comprehensive education through a challenging, cutting-edge curriculum taught by a highly qualified faculty with a deep personal alignment to the Devon Prep Philosophy and Mission. Faculty and students concentrate on the learning process, not just the outcomes, to help students increase attention and focus, develop critical thinking skills, and practice true learning. We foster an environment where students challenge themselves and hold themselves to high expectations and standards.

SPIRITUALITY

6,000 HOURS

OFCOMMUNITYSERVICE PERFORMED SCHOOL-WIDE YEARLY

Students are encouraged to develop an intellectual curiosity about the world, with a strong moral and ethical compass to both anchor and guide them. While we welcome families of all faiths, the virtues and values of the Piarist Order inspire student life at Devon. Each student is required to perform community service throughout the school year, but many exceed those requirements. The Christian Action Program is a driving force within the school, and members donate their time and energy to give back to those in need.

“Devon produces men who are academically strong, value their faith, are ethically formed, and are invested in their communities and the world.” – REV. GERALD OLINGER, CSC, ‘97
