The look I am going for is that of exploration and discovery. It should reflect a curiosity for shapes and forms and the spaces in between.

It is a process of peeling back the layers and discovering. Hence the reason for the extra flap on the cover and the tuck away folder. The illustration on the cover is my digital final from practical 2. It shows steps, direction and redirection revealing my personal methodology

This my process book for design methodologies, 705. What I am trying to show throughout the entire layout of the book plus the look and feel is my process.

I want each page to reflect what I am trying to say about how I begin a project and the steps I go through to complete it. I have reiterated several words that outline my process.

The book is made from 110lb. cover stock with a matte finish. It is perfect binding with tape. The biggest challenge was compensating for the center gutter. InDesign does not seem to allow you to control that other than margins.

This is the introductory spread. It is a contained folder that opens up to reveal the word discover and the final passage I wrote about this class. It finishes with a quote by Dr. Suess which I used in Practical 4 to explain the uniqueness of the individual – “youer than you.”

I begin each section with a separation page that has one of my solutions for that practical blended with the section title. I want to keep the look consistent throughout the book. I don’t want each section to be a new look. I like consistency. I am trying to reflect my methodology, and it is all about trying to follow a plan. This entire book should read as a map, not just a visual free for all.
