Deepings Camera Club As one of the region’s most popular and active photography clubs, the season at Deepings Camera club starts on September 9th and runs through until May. Due to Covid-19, they will not be meeting at their usual venue although they do have a diary of online events including competitions, sessions to develop your skills and presentations by guest speakers such as the ex-picture editor of The Times newspaper and the sports photographer for the Mail on Sunday who covered the Olympic Games in 2012. Before Covid…. There would be a number of planned photography outings where more experienced members are always on hand to offer help and advice if needed. Some members have also planned photographic holidays both in the UK and abroad. They would love to offer a warm welcome to any new members in September. Local Folk Singers and Players Keeping Their Arts Alive Sept. 4th - Zoom singing and playing session with Dean Hardy, from Morton. This features people singing and playing tunes, and others, also sitting in their own houses, listening and tapping along. Contact Dean Hardy on 01778570115. Sept. 8th and 22nd - Pete Shaw’s Zoom “Slow and Easy Tune Sessions,” 7.15pm -9.00pm, are designed for beginners in easy folk tunes, anyone can join on whatever instrument, or just listen in. Call 01778 571563 for an invite. Sunday afternoons at 3pm at the Hare and Hounds, Haconby. Traditional tune sessions are at present running outside in the garden there. Burghley House The House is now open from Wednesday -Sunday with timed ticket slots between 10-30am -4pm. The gardens are open daily with two time slots, from 10-30am -1pm and 2pm – 4pm. The Garden of Surprises will be open, although there will be limited access to certain areas and no contact with water features. To maintain your safety, the children’s paddling area, maze and viewing mound will be closed. 66
