Le sere di... Triestestate

Una pacifica e positiva invasione di spettacolo, arte e cultura caratterizzerà l’estate di Trieste. Si chiama proprio così, Trieste Estate, la rassegna organizzata dal Comune che ormai da molti anni anima le serate in molti luoghi di questa città. Dal 9 giugno al 30 agosto entrano in scena oltre 160 iniziative –di cui 109 ad ingresso gratuito– con prestigiosi ospiti di calibro internazionale e numerose novità per includere nel circuito degli appuntamenti musicali di più ampio respiro. Il calendario delle iniziative è curato da Lino Marrazzo e Gabriele Centis e propone accanto a spettacoli di successo consolidate rassegne divenute negli anni una consuetudine delle estati triestine.

Uno dei tratti fondamentali della rassegna è l’ampia estensione: questa 19a edizione si sviluppa dal centro alle periferie, coinvolgendo anche alcuni rioni –Borgo San Sergio, San Giacomo, Opicina, Barcola e Servola– con appuntamenti di ogni genere e una rassegna dedicata alle formazioni bandistiche a cura dall’Anbima provinciale. Sarà un’occasione speciale per scoprire alcuni angoli della città lasciandosi sorprendere da scorci e particolari insoliti, magari accompagnati dalle note di melodie famose sublimate dalla professionalità dei musicisti degli ensemble che da queste parti godono di una tradizione risalente addirittura agli Asburgo.

I luoghi della rassegna sono anche vere e proprie icone cittadine. Protagonista è il Castello di San Giusto, dove è allestito un palco coperto con circa 1.500 posti a sedere. Il Giardino del Museo Sartorio diventa un sito “cameristico” con la messa in scena, una delle novità di quest’anno, della rassegna “Teatro Ragazzi”, a ingresso gratuito, pensata per un pubblico di famiglie con bambini e ragazzi. Anche la musica indipendente trova qui il proprio spazio, con i giovani artisti della rassegna “Secret Sounds Trieste”. Il Giardino de Tommasini è invece dedicato al cinema, con le rassegne #cinemanordest e ShorTs International Film Festival.

Coinvolti anche altri siti suggestivi, come il Museo d’Antichità Winckelmann, che fa da cornice alla rassegna “Archeologia di sera”, il Molo Audace, dove ritorna il Concerto all’alba, e la Cattedrale di San Giusto che accoglie il Coro della Cappella Musicale Pontificia. Non mancano le principali sale teatrali cittadine, il Politeama Rossetti e il Teatro Verdi.

Tre mesi fitti di appuntamenti e iniziative, fino a quattro spettacoli diversi in un giorno, per offrire una stagione artistica per tutti i “gusti”, una meravigliosa accoglienza per i turisti e un immancabile appuntamento per i cittadini che potranno vivere il grande ritorno della loro rassegna estiva preferita, più ricca che mai!

Apeaceful and positive invasion of entertainment, art and culture will characterise the summer in Trieste. That’s what it’s called, Trieste Estate, the event organised by the Municipality that has been enlivening the evenings in many places in the city for many years now. From 9 June to 30 August more than 160 initiatives –109 of which with free admission– will be staged, with prestigious guests of international standing and many new events to include in the circuit of the larger musical events. The calendar of events is curated by Lino Marrazzo and Gabriele Centis and features not only successful performances but also longstanding events that have become a fixture of Trieste’s summers over the years.

One of the key features of the festival is its wide extent: this 19th edition spreads from the centre to the suburbs, also involving some districts –Borgo San Sergio, San Giacomo, Opicina, Barcola and Servola– with events of all kinds and a programme dedicated to bands organised by the provincial Anbima. It will be a special opportunity to discover unusual sites in the city, being surprised by glimpses and details, perhaps accompanied by the notes of famous melodies sublimated by the professionalism of the musicians of the ensembles that in these parts enjoy a tradition dating back as far as the Hapsburgs.

The venues are also true city icons. Protagonist is the San Giusto Castle, where a covered stage with around 1,500 seats is set up. The Garden of the Sartorio Museum becomes a ‘chamber’ site with the staging of one of this year’s novelties, the ‘Teatro Ragazzi’ [Children’s Theatre] festival, with free admission, designed for an audience of families with children and young people. Independent music also finds its space here, with the young artists of the ‘Secret Sounds Trieste’ event. The de Tommasini Garden is instead dedicated to cinema, with the #cinemanordest and ShorTs International Film Festivals.

Other charming sites are also involved, such as the Museo d’Antichità Winckelmann, which is the setting for the “Archeologia di sera” festival, the Molo Audace, where the Dawn Concert returns, and the San Giusto Cathedral, which hosts the Pontifical Musical Chapel Choir. The city’s main theatres, the Politeama Rossetti and the Verdi Theatre, will also be present.

Three months full of appointments and initiatives, up to four different shows in one day, to offer an artistic season for all ‘tastes’, a wonderful welcome for tourists and an unmissable appointment for citizens who will be able to experience the great return of their favourite summer festival, richer than ever!
