Win for Emu travel office

Emu Plains Harvey World Travel office has just won the NSW ACT Metro Agency of the year award. The annual Harvey World Travel conference in Hong Kong saw over 200 offices from all over Australia, all hoping to win the prestigious award which is based on 25 different critera. Joint owner managers, Kim Owen and Gay Julian, were so excited to win. Kim says “we want to thank all our clients for helping us to achieve the award and look forward to helping

Glenbrook Youth Representative Emily Hill from Glenbrook has been selected as Penrith’s youth representative for this year’s YMCA NSW Youth Parliament. Emily, aged 18, is one of the 110 young people given the chance to voice their opinions on issues that are important to them and their local community. There are 10 committees representing the most important issues facing the State and Emily will be investigating health and medical research. Congratulations Emily.

Penrith City Council honoured five community members with Australia Day awards. Jill Huber has been a local of Emu Plains for more than 35 years. Jill is blind, yet despite the daily struggles she faces, her determination to make a lasting contribution to her area has made Penrith City a better place for people with a disability and the wider community. James Tiberi, of Emu Heights received his community award for promoting Italian services and culture for older people. Penrith City Mayor Kevin Crameri OAM said the Australia Day Award recipients were shining examples of the dedicated, multitalented individuals in our community. See page 3
