Wall of Achievement Congratulations to the six local residents who have been honoured in the 2009 Wall of Achievement Awards. Karl Preuss and Michael Soper are Sport nominees. He still qualified for the final of the AA open mens cruiser finishing 7th and the semi final of the AA men open. Ben Clarke from Emu Heights also competed in the AA open mens. The Crutch family from Emu Heights had dad Jason finishing 12th in the men’s cruiser and 7 year old Reece receiving a trophy. See page 5

Bushcare News A Green Corps team has been working in Huntington Reserve, Emu Plains for 6 months and they have made a huge impact within the Reserve. A group of local residents are planning a new Bushcare group to work on the Nepean river bank and are looking for volunteers.

Watch out for snakes Snakes are around again. If you see one, don’t panic because on most occasions, the snake will be trying to get out of the way as quickly as possible and will escape rather than attack. However, if you feel threatened or really need help, the Fire Brigade are now trained to respond to snakes and all wildlife and will be able to attend more quickly than contacting WIRES. See page 3

Post Box Removed

Emu Heights Residents have been patiently waiting for their red street postbox at the Emu Heights Shopping Centre to be replaced after vandals damaged it several months ago. A resident rang Australia Post this week enquiring about its return to be told it has been permanently removed. See page 5
