2010 Anzac Day Services Sunday 25th April The march starts at 8am from the Girl Guide hall in Nepean Street, Emu Plains and walks across to the Cenotaph. All welcome. The Penrith RSL dawn service leaves the RSL club in Lethbridge Street at 4.45am to march to Memory Park for the service at 5am. There is also a RSL march on Sunday 18th April, lining up at 2.30pm adjacent to the fire station in Evan Strret Penrith. This is an alternative to the dawn service on Anzac Day.

Charter Signing Year 10 students at Nepean High school have taken on the reponsibility of signing the Beacon Foundation ‘No Dole Charter’ for the 7th year running. The Beacon Foundation is a national not-for-profit organisation that seeks to influence the attitudes and culture of Australians so that each young person develops an independent will to achieve personal success for themselves and their community. The Beacon Foundation works with 115 schools and Nepean High is recognised in the top 16 across the country. This is due to the leadership of the

Closure of Mitchell’s Pass Mitchell’s Pass, between Lennox Bridge and Emu Plains, is remaining closed until further notice in the interest of public safety as a result of a rock fall that occurred on a section of Mitchell’s Pass due to heavy rain on the weekend of 6 and 7 February. The investigation is likely to take up to 6 months., Mitchell’s Pass remains open from Glenbrook Road to local traffic only. See page 4.
