Big School Here We Come! Starting Kindergarten for the first time can be overwhelming, not just for the children, but also for the parents. Every year in school yards all across the country, tears are shed as Mums and Dads pry their reluctant charges from their arms to wave goodbye on the very first day of school. This year, Regentville Public School students Brody Rolands, Bailey Watson and Kobhi Sanders walked through the school gates for their first time ‘together’, after attending preschool in each others company for the past few years. In this case, it was more cheers than tears as the boys were excited to join their older siblings at big school for the first time. “He’s been practically counting the days till school since last year” said Zavera, Brody’s Mum. For one small moment, there were clean, freshly pressed school uniforms complete with shiny, new shoes. This, of course, is before the rough and tumble of school life takes over. Bailey’s Mum Kim echoed a sentiment that was shared by many parents, “He’s my youngest child. I don’t know what I’ll do with my spare time now that he’s started school. I’m a little sad, but happy to get some me time back”. In a few short months, the 9:00am till 3:00pm day will soon become a routine. The memory of that first day will live on for many years to come. The magic of Kindergarten.

Mulgoa’s Local Woman of the Year Announced

Minister for Women Pru Goward was joined by Member for Mulgoa Tanya Davies to announce Frances Refalo as the 2015 Local Woman of the Year for Mulgoa. Ms Goward said there were countless outstanding women in NSW and the Local Woman of the Year awards are a chance for the NSW Government and the community to officially recognise the phenomenal contribution they make. “The Local Woman of the Year awards is something I look forward to each year because we get to share the inspirational journeys of a number of outstanding women in NSW, Ms Goward said. “It is the hard and often thankless work of women like Ms Refalo that make not only our communities great places to live, but defines who we are as Australians. Local award winners will be invited to join their Member of Parliament at the 2015 NSW Women of the Year award ceremony to be held at Parliament House in March. Ms Davies said she was proud to nominate Ms Refalo as the Mulgoa 2015 Local Woman of the Year. “It is truly a privilege to be able to acknowledge the great work in our community of women like Ms Refalo, Ms Davies said. “I am also pleased the Minister has come to Western Sydney to recognise Ms Refalo for her voluntary work within the community. “I am astounded that I have been recognised for this award. I feel so honoured and appreciative just to have been considered for this award and to have the Minister for Women come all the way out here to western Sydney to personally present this to me

has left me speechless. Thank you so much said Frances Refalo on receiving the award. Frances Refalo has dedicated the last 15 years of her personal life as a very active volunteer supporting her local football community. She has performed in a number of official roles, many simultaneously, culminating in her successful election last November as the new President of the Nepean Football Association (NFA). The NFA governs 32 football clubs in the Nepean District with over 11,000 registered players and officials. Frances is the first woman to be elected President of the Association since it was founded 54 years ago in 1961. From 1999-2005 Frances held various management committee positions of Glenmore Park Football Club, including the role of Secretary, Competition Secretary, Registrar and Women’s Coordinator. In 2003 Frances was elected onto the board of the NFA and has held various positions over the last 11 years, including Women’s coordinator, Treasurer and now as President of the Association. In 2008, Frances joined the coaching ranks of the Nepean Dragons, a Sub-Committee of the NFA, which provides football activities to children and adults with special needs, imparting the joys of football to both players and their families. Throughout these last 15 years Frances has also volunteered as a team coach, manager and club referee and still finds time to play as a registered player as well. Frances is a role model volunteer in her local community and is to be commended for her unwavering devotion, dedication and sacrifice to support her community in the field of football. Try something this year that will give meaning to everything else and that will give you hope and peace through all that lies ahead for you in 2015. Check out Jesus and get to know him. Knowing Jesus brings joy, peace and real hope. Jesus continues to be an intriguing person of history. Extraordinary things have been written and said about him, yet so many people have never actually checked him out for themselves. FAITH - PADRE PIO CATHOLIC PARISH Fr Robert Riedling A: 34-38 William Howell Dr , Glenmore Park P: 4737 9735 W: www.padrepioglenmorepark.org.au

Saturday: 5:30pm Vigil Mass with choir Sunday: 7:30am Mass and 9:30am Mass with choir and children’s liturgy.

Why Go To Church Regularly? “I don’t go to church but I believe in God.” “I don’t go to church but I’m a spiritual person.” These phrases are familiar to those of us whose occupation revolves around Church and organised worship. Of course, these words are true. One can certainly believe in God at an intellectual level without going to a church and we are all, by our very nature, spiritual beings. But in looking at the issue of church attendance and why it is necessary for Christians, we need to ask the question: What does my belief in God mean for how I live my life? It is here that the role of the Church, the people of God, is helpful, and, I would suggest, crucial. Whilst the image of Church for most people is that of a large, cumbersome and ancient institution, it is, in essence, an organised group of fellow believers. Obviously such a body needs to be administered and organised a particular way to be effective (always room for improvement there!) but to understand the Church solely as an “institution” (not an attractive image, I admit!) is to miss the point. From the earliest days of Christianity, believers have been meeting together to pray and praise and ponder what it means to be a redeemed people. For two millennia the Church has mused over the great questions about the nature of God and what it is to live as a Christian. It is therefore in a good position to assist those of us who are seeking answers to these vital questions. Certainly one can study the Church’s wisdom on these matters without visiting a church but such wisdom only comes alive

through regular contact with fellow believers. If we choose not to have any association with fellow Christians then our faith remains at a purely intellectual level and doesn’t bear fruit in day-to-day living. Only by regularly gathering with our fellow believers can we come to grasp what it is to truly “believe” in God for it is here that we find the loving support necessary for living as Jesus did. Belief in God is not simply an intellectual assent to an idea but demands an active response. In responding, what was an idea or nascent belief becomes active and fruitful faith. In summary, we cannot be Christians alone. We are made for one another and this becomes most clear when we meet together regularly as Christians have been doing for so many centuries. Why not make 2015 the year in which you commit to living out your faith more fruitfully by making time each Sunday to meet with your fellow believers? Wishing you and your loved ones every blessing in 2015! Our parish is a vibrant and active Christian community. If you would like to join us, particularly those who may not attend our Masses regularly or new residents in the area, we would love to welcome you here as part of our friendly, inclusive and familyoriented community. New Home Building Laws Start Stuart Ayres MP, Member for Penrith has welcomed the start of new home building laws offering greater protection to NSW consumers from shoddy construction work. “New laws to protect NSW consumers from poor workmanship have been implemented across the State, Stuart Ayres said. “Anyone who continues to carry out unlicensed construction work or don’t have the necessary insurance now face up to a year behind bars. “Licence eligibility has been tightened to stamp out illegal ‘phoenixing’, which is where a company closes down leaving large unpaid debts, only to resurface as a different company trading under a different name. “Minor residential work worth under $5,000 can now be carried out without a licence to reduce ‘red tape’ for consumers who want to get minor work done around their properties. “Specialist work such as plumbing, electrical and air conditioning will still need a licence regardless of the cost of work. Stuart Ayres said consumers and builders could also continue to enter into a written contract for work less than $5,000, if they wished, the previous threshold was $1,000. “It is the first time since 2004 that the threshold has been changed, despite the increase of cost over time of building work and materials. This change also brings NSW broadly in line with other jurisdictions, such as Victoria, WA and Tasmania, which already have a threshold of $5,000 or more. Stuart Ayres said “It’s important to emphasise that consumers are protected by guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), which is enforced by NSW Fair Trading and the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission. “Under the ACL, a consumer can request an itemised bill outlining prices, labour hours, cost and use of materials. “The builder must give the consumer the itemised bill, within seven days of the request, or face fines of up to $15,000 for a company and $3000 for an individual. A key change in the new legislation is the recognition, for the first time, of fire safety systems and waterproofing as major elements in a building’s structure. “Consumers are receiving the added protection of major defects in fire safety systems and waterproofing being covered

by six years statutory warranty, and those major defects that often result in major damage to homes and huge costs to home owners, Stuart Ayres said. “These laws have been two years in the making and have involved extensive community and industry consultation to deliver changes that respond to the changing landscape of the residential building market. “For the industry, these measures will reduce unnecessary red tape, and offer clearer legal definitions, particularly in relation to defects, helping to ensure fewer disputes between homeowners and builders. “If home owners or builders have any questions about the new laws, they can contact NSW Fair Trading for assistance on 13 32 20,’’ Stuart Ayres said. Some parts of the Amendment Act will come into effect on 1 March 2015, giving builders and industry time to make the transition to new requirements. These changes will require all contracts for work over $20,000 to include a progress payment schedule in the contract which accurately reflects the work done and materials bought. For detailed changes on new Home Building Act laws, visit NSW Fair Trading at: http://www.fairtrading.nsw.gov. au/sites/ftw/About_us/Legislation/Changes_to_legislation/ Major_changes_to_home_building_laws.page?DCSext. ref=HomePageClick:Whats_new

FAITH - FOOTHILLS VINEYARD CHURCH Pastor Paul Marshall W: www.fvc.org.au Sunday Service Time: 9:30am @ Regentville Public School

Soul Matters The line in the sand marking the end of a year and the start of a new year speaks about a fresh start, new possibility, grace to have another go. It is a gift allowing us to leave behind the failures and disappointments of the past year, and to dream again of good things ahead. It is a gift of fresh soul-energy to keep trying, keep reaching, keep dreaming, keep hoping. But across the boundary lines dividing years, we cannot blot out realities such as those behind the Lindt Café siege, or live in denial about what is hard in our lives. Life is filled with wonder and beauty, love can be found, and as the song goes we can truthfully say: “What a wonderful world!” But it’s not all beer and skittles, and where we want to see change in our lives, need help, or seek peace, we must ask: “Who will help us, protect us, or has the power to calm our souls?” The simple fact of crossing this annual boundary line of fresh starts is not enough – we must have some reason to believe that this new year will be different. A definition of insanity is: Doing the same things and believing the same things, but expecting a different outcome. Often doing things differently in our own strength can bring change, but the real challenges of life are beyond the capacity of our own resources. The truth is that we cannot change our own hearts or eliminate terrorism from the world. This raises the issue of God. Whether or not we believe in a greater power, every one of us has a “god”. Our “god” is whatever we pay attention to

first; whatever defines us; whatever we worship, or give the most value to. If we are self-sufficient and depend on our own resources, we can be our own “god”. By this I simply mean that we are looking to ourselves to ensure that our future is good – we are treating ourselves as the highest power available. Again things we can do in our own strength like earning or achieving more, or doing this or that better might work in some cases. But not for the deep issues of the heart that impact on our happiness and peace, or concern developments in the world that are beyond our control. The question we must ask as we embrace the promise of a new year is: “Can our god of choice save us, help us, make us happy and safe, or give us peace?” The Bible describes God as the highest power who is kind, loves people deeply like a father, and desires to share his love and power with us. Access to the power of God’s life requires faith, and developing a real spiritual life that allows us to have a relationship with him through his Son Jesus and his Spirit. But those who have embraced this journey of faith have found that God is able to answer the longing of their souls. Allow me to offer our short JOURNEYS Course which covers the amazing stories of people who have chosen God and found him to be real and powerful. For details please email me at: paul@fvc.org.au. Go well into 2015, Pastor Paul Marshall

It’s no doubt that Western Sydney is fast becoming the adventure capital of the state, with Luddenham Raceway opening for business in November, late last year. With two years of planning and eight months of construction, it’s the perfect place for the family to visit. “We wanted to create something for the whole family. Luddenham Raceway caters to adults and children with lots to enjoy” said Marketing and Promotions Manager Maria Vukmirica. Maria’s children Niki, Sascha and Simo also work at the business, making it very family oriented. There are two go kart tracks at the raceway, the ‘Pro Circuit’, a 600m asphalt track designed for the adults and a ‘Rookie Circuit’ designed for children aged from 8 through to learners. Prices start from $25 for 1x7 min race for kids aged 8-14 and $30 for 1x10 min race for adults 15 and over. There are over 30 go karts on offer to race, with participants able to access state-of-the-art electronic timing and lap times that are emailed and have Facebook integration. Luddenham Raceway also has facilities such as a function/meeting room, which make it ideal for corporate events. Honda Australia recently booked the venue to product test and train for their new CRV. There’s also a café and a party room onsite. With stage one complete, stage two construction will include a Paintball Park, whilst stage three will see a Car Circuit (CAMS Category C) and Driver Training Facility built. Both stages are due for completion later this year. Luddenham Raceway will be supporting the University of Western Sydney during ‘O Week’ this year, giving all students 10% off and

donating free track time for the university’s Solar Car. During this time, they will have stands at the Penrith, Parramatta, Bankstown and Campbelltown Campuses, with buses taking the students to the Raceway for promotions. “We get a kick out of seeing people happy. Seeing the smiles on their faces are priceless” said Maria. Luddenham Raceway are located at 849 Luddenham Road, Luddenham. Phone is (02)9834 2366 and email is info@ luddenhamraceway.com. Click ‘Like’ on Luddenham Raceway’s Facebook page for more information. They are opened 7 days a week, from 10am to 7:30pm.

PARENTS CORNER Article by: Narelle Smith (Family Worker) NepeanStudent-Wellbeing Worker – Mulgoa Public School Nepean Community & Neighbourhood Services Ph: 0409 986 121 Centre: 4721 8520 Blog: http://handsheartsminds.wordpress.com

I hear from many parents who are confused about their role in raising their kids. There is so much noise these days about parenting – from social media, friends, family, school, television. Some of it is misleading and not based on the research, some of it is cruel and unusual. How does one make sense of it all? Parents cry out “we didn’t get an instruction manual with this kid!”. To which I reply “your child is the instruction manual”. If you listen to your child, observe him or her, look at the situation from where he or she is standing, it all becomes a lot clearer. And parenting becomes a whole lot easier. When I talk with groups of children or individual children, and I ask them if they can talk to their parents about what is troubling them, more often than not the children say that their parents don’t listen to them, they dismiss them, or they lecture them. Unfortunately, a lot of kids don’t see their parents as someone they can go to and feel heard and understood. They don’t see their parents as helpful or supportive. Kids tell me what their parents say to them when they try to go to them with a problem – “suck it up princess” or “build a bridge and get over it”. When I ask parents “who do you want your child to go to when he or she has a problem?”, they always say “me”. But if you were a child and were told repeatedly “don’t bother me with this now” or “get over it” or “you’ll be fine” would you go back for more? I swear that if every parent learnt to listen to their child, I would be out of a job. And I would happily pack shelves at a supermarket knowing that our kids are healthy (physically, emotionally,, socially, intellectually). I know that parents don’t do this on purpose. Every parent wants the best for their child. More often than not, we don’t listen to our kids because their big emotions are too much for us to hear. So we try to jolly them up, redirect them away from the pain, push them to see the brighter side. We think that if our children are having an emotion then it’s our job to toughen them up. But feeling heard and understood is one of the most precious things a human can experience, especially when it’s coming from the most important people in your lives – your parents or carers. The path to easier parenting is empathy – standing and walking in your child’s shoes. The next step is acknowledging how they are feeling about something - hearing them out. You are not always going to agree with them, and you are still the parent, so you make the big decisions. But quite often, children can surprise us with their wisdom and insight.

Back to School can be a Stressful Time The books are covered, the bags are packed and the uniform is neatly ironed and ready for the first day of school. For some children and young people, however, these practical things are not likely to be worrying them the most. The stress and anxiety some young people feel at the start of the school year can be overwhelming. Those first days can be some of the most exciting but Kids Helpline General Manager Wendy Protheroe said for others, this time is a scary and frustrating one. Ms Protheroe said transitioning into school is one of the most important stages of a child’s development. “This is the time that sets a bar in terms of how children develop coping strategies, problem solving skills and ways of seeing and understanding the world outside of their family,” Ms Protheroe said. “They may be starting Prep, their first year of senior school or going into Year 12. Whatever the stage, it can sometimes be overwhelming with new challenges and uncertainties.” As Australia’s only national 24/7 counselling and support service for young people, Ms Protheroe said Kids Helpline was there to help. The service has compiled a list of tips for parents to support their children during this time. Kids Helpline’s Top Five Back to

School tips are: 1. Be excited about the change. If you are enthusiastic and confident, your children are more likely to be as well. 2. Listen to your children. Let them know you’re interested in what they’re worrying about and what they’re excited about. 3. Plan - have uniforms and lunches ready the night before to avoid the early morning rush and any unnecessary stress. 4. If possible, visit the new school with your child before the first day to familiarise with the layout including bathrooms, lunch areas and playgrounds. 5. Start and maintain daily routines that will add structure and make your child more at ease (eg) dropping your child off at school at the same time each morning. Ms Protheroe said it was important for parents to make themselves available to provide support at critical times like starting back at school. However, Kids Helpline was there to help at any stage. Children and young people can call Kids Helpline about a range of issues, from making friends to starting high school, at any time. Kids Helpline, Australia’s only national 24/7 counselling and support service for young people, provides 24 hour counselling services to young people aged 5 to 25 years – free call 1800 55 1800 or online at www.kidshelpline.com.au.

With the festive season over, getting back into routine often means slipping back into old habits, and this can be setting yourself up for failure. In order to achieve your 2015 goals you need to have a real plan. According to a study by Columbia University, people who determined a plan of action to achieve their goals almost tripled their chances of success! ‘SMART’ goal setting allows you to create such a plan, and thus transform your ‘lose weight’ resolution into reality. Accountable - share your goal with a supportive family member, friend or practitioner 4. Realistic - keep your goal realistic eg to lose 25kg in 12 weeks is neither real nor smart! 5. Timeframe - set a deadline for your goal eg If I lose 0.5-1kg per week, I can hit my 10kg goal in 10-12 weeks Losing weight can be done many different ways, but gaining health and feeling great when you get to your goal is ultimately what we all want. While you are waiting for the chocolate to melt, gather your sprinkles and cookies. Line a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper. This will prevent sticking while the cookies dry. 3. MONEY MATTERS PARENTS CORNER With David & Leonie Jackson - Great Aussie Dream P: 4733 8592 E: admin@gad.com.au

Refinancing. Is it Really Worthwhile? Have interest rates fallen since you took out your mortgage? Has your financial situation improved? Would you like to access your equity for an investment, renovations or to consolidate debts? Refinancing can often be a good financial decision. You could save money on repayments or free up funds for other purposes. Refinancing can sometimes even let you take advantage of more competitive loan products that help you pay off your home sooner! But before you rush in, you should talk to us. We’ll help you to add up the costs involved and decide whether or not refinancing is the right move for you considering your personal circumstances and financial situation. In some cases, refinancing your mortgage could save you money, but in other cases, it could end up costing you more. What is refinancing? Refinancing is the process of paying off an existing mortgage by creating a new one. You can switch lenders entirely, or switch to a more suitable loan with the same lender. It could include combining a primary mortgage with a second mortgage, so that you only have one mortgage to pay and reducing the overall costs. What costs are involved? Understanding the costs involved with refinancing is an important part of deciding if this strategy is right for you. Sometimes, the cost of refinancing can cancel out any savings you might make on a lower interest rate. Talk to us about your goals If you’re thinking about refinancing for any reason, then it pays to talk to us about your goals and the best way to go about achieving them. Refinancing might be a good idea for you if your financial situation has improved since you first took out your loan, as this may help you get a better rate.

So what will you CHANGE this New Year? Michael Todd Business Advisor Youngest ever winner of Best BEC Advisor Australia Penrith, Blue Mountains and Hawkesbury BEC

Twelve months from now, people will be looking back on 2015 and seeing the results of the choices they're making now. For some people, it will look pretty much like 2014. The same story, just one year older. It must be the case for most people. Another year, and more unfulfilled ‘New Year's Resolutions’. It is said that around 8% of these get achieved. If you had a good 2014, how can you build on that to make you and your business stronger in 2015. If you didn’t have a good 2014, what can you change or do to ensure it goes better for you? You have the most control over yourself. The blame game never works. So what do we need to do this year to make it a good one? Be proactive. The key to progress is taking control of it yourself. It is very important to be aware of what's going on around you as well. Stay abreast of industry changes and keep one eye on competition. Be confident and commit to your goals. A lack of confidence is one of the biggest obstacles to achieving both personal and business goals. You need to believe in your abilities, build on your strengths and address weaknesses when planning. Commit to doing whatever it takes to get you where you want to be, even if it involves some risk.

Start every day prepared and engaged. If you want to advance, you need to demonstrate that you're truly engaged in your business. It's not enough to physically be there at your desk every day. Show up mentally prepared and ready to take action. Being active, tackling tasks and planning ahead are the characteristics you need to take the initiative in your business. Use technology to help you. Business will continue to be driven by better business technologies. Employees also want technology to help them be more efficient and productive so embrace that. It may even lead them to do more with less and work smarter, not harder. So here’s to a new year, if that is what you need for a fresh start mentally. You have control to make sure everything comes together to make your goals a reality.

We see over 1,200 businesses each year, of all shapes and sizes, helping our clients achieve results like no other. If you haven't engaged with our BEC for our award winning business advice then now is a good time. PAWS A WHILE With Orchard Hills Veterinary Hospital 377 Wentworth Rd, Orchard Hills Ph: 4736 2027

$2100 Guide Dog Donation from the Santa Photos with Pets Santa Claus visited Orchard Hills Veterinary Hospital during December 2014 and photos were taken with your pets. We all enjoyed watching your pets get dressed up with Santa hats and scarves and sitting on Santa’s knee for a photo. With a lot of laughs and giggles, we took many cute Santa photos. Thank you for all of the donations for the photos. With your great support, we raised $2100 for The Guide Dogs NSW/ACT!! Wow!! This was our best year yet!! We all had lots of fun and The Guide Dogs get a great donation. Thanks again for participating. Too much fun!! The Guide Dogs NSW/ACT Guide Dogs NSW/ACT exists to enhance the quality of life of people living with blindness or impaired vision, by assisting in their achievement of independence through access and mobility with the use of Guide Dogs. It takes nearly two years to develop a playful pup into a responsible Guide Dog. Puppy Raising New puppies arrive at the Guide Dogs Centre at the age of approximately eight weeks. They work with purebred Labradors, Golden Retrievers and Labrador/ Golden Retriever crosses. These breeds are calm, loyal and intelligent, and have a proven track record as Guide Dogs. The pups are then placed with families that have been specially selected by Guide Dogs staff. They are called "puppy raisers". Over the next 12 months, these families will provide the pups with basic social skills, obedience and lots of fun! The dogs are visited regularly by the Puppy Raising Officers, who monitor their development and take them on training walks on their local area. In addition, the pups spend time at the Guide Dogs Centre, to help them become familiar with their next home. If you are interested in becoming a puppy raiser,

contact The Guide Dogs at www.guidedogs.com.au. Guide Dog Training When the pups are about 14 months old, they return to the Guide Dogs Centre. The instructors carefully assess every puppy on several long walks. Prospective Guide Dogs must be eager to work, with good concentration and initiative. They must also control the temptation to be distracted by other animals. Puppies that are selected to become Guide Dogs undergo an intensive five-month program to learn the complex skills required for their new job. They begin with simple commands and progress to more challenging tasks. These skills include: • Walking in a straight line without sniffing • Walking on the left-hand side slightly ahead of the trainer • Stopping at all kerbs • Waiting for a command before crossing roads • Stopping at the top and bottom of stairs • Avoiding obstacles at head height • Avoiding spaces too narrow for a person and a dog to walk through side by side • Boarding and travelling on all forms of public transport • Taking the trainer to a lift • Laying quietly for some time, particularly at a workplace or in restaurants • Refusing commands that may lead the trainer into danger - for example, if the trainer instructs the Guide Dog to walk them into a hole, the dog should refuse to walk forward when commanded. As training progresses, Guide Dogs learn to travel through confusing and crowded areas, such as shopping centres and busy city streets. In fact, experienced Guide Dogs can lead their users to a list of destinations. As you can imagine, this requires careful teaching so the dog learns each command in a complex sequence of events. Despite the hard work involved, Guide Dogs have a rewarding job indeed. These intelligent dogs lead an interesting life and enjoy its many challenges. Please feel free to pop in anytime and meet the team at Orchard Hills Veterinary Hospital. Call 4736 2027 to make an appointment. Check us out on Facebook and online at www.orchardhillsvet.com.au.

NSW Government Continues to Invest in Sporting Facilities in the Mulgoa Electorate NSW Minister for Local Government, Paul Toole MP accompanied by Member for Mulgoa, Tanya Davies MP and Penrith City Council Mayor, Ross Fowler OAM recently announced that Ched Towns Reserve southern end playing fields near Glenmore Park Town Centre will get a much needed upgrade with funding support from the NSW Government and project management support from Penrith City Council. The southern end playing fields at Ched Towns Reserve are operated by the Glenmore Park Football Club and a ceremonial cheque to the amount of $50,000 from the NSW Government Community Building Partnership Grant Program was presented by Minister Toole and Tanya Davies to Club Secretary John Liepa. Glenmore Park Football Club, the largest football club in the Nepean District, has agreed to contribute an amount of $5,000 to the project. Tanya Davies was delighted this project received funding support. “Local construction jobs and businesses will benefit from this project, as this well utilised community infrastructure is given a well-deserved facelift” Tanya Davies said. Tanya Davies said the grant will go to upgrade drainage facilities at the southern fields of the Reserve to improve the quality of the playing surface and reduce the amount of time the fields are closed when it rains heavily. The project will be managed by Penrith City Council. “This NSW Government funding will go a long way to improving player safety and use at these fields for many years to come” Tanya Davies said. This grant from State Government complements Council’s recent investment of $53,000 into the reconstruction of the northern playing fields used by Glenmore Park Junior Rugby League Club.
