Penrith Mayor Cr Karen McKeown las month turned the first sod to officially commence construction of the $30 million plus redevelopment of Glenmore Park Town Centre. Majors Aldi and Coles will anchor the new building with 31 specialty tenants including a gym. Mayor Cr McKeown said she was extremely pleased to have the opportunity as Mayor to mark the start of work on the much anticipated second stage of Glenmore Park Town Centre. “Council has worked extremely closely with owners Village Fair to create an improved urban design outcome that integrates well with the existing Town Centre,” Mayor McKeown said. “More importantly, the investment by Village Fair will have significant economic importance for our city. Approximately 400 to 450 jobs will be created throughout the construction phase while it is estimated an additional 400 plus jobs will be created once the new building is open for business. “These are all jobs that will allow people to work closer to home, ensuring increased valuable time spent at home with family and play,” she continued. continued pg. 8
