Watch out for snakes Snakes are around again, especially in the Blue Hills area and near the Glenmore Loch. If you see one, don’t panic because on most occasions, the snake will be trying to get out of the way as quickly as possible and will escape rather than attack. See page 9
Krackatinni Open Garden This unique garden at 3 Azalea Court, Glenmore Park, will be open to the public again on the evening of 31st October from 6pm to 10pm with a Halloween theme, to highlight a variety of garden lighting options. It is also open on Sunday 1st of November from 11 to 4pm. Entry $6.
Wall of Achievement Merle Blatch from Regentville has been nominated in the Community
Services Category for her 50 years of volunteering. She was a valued volunteer for Penrith Community Aid Meals on Wheels and delivered meals for 25 years. Merle has been involved in many other communityy organisations including Penrith Women’s Bowling Club, Inner Wheel and the Probus Club, Joy Gillett from Glenmore Park was nominated in the Sport Category for her volunteer work with the Penrith Netball Association. She has been the secretary since 2000 has been appointed a Netball NSW Tribunal Panel Member to sit on disciplinary tribunals, the NSW Netball Office. Merle and Joy will have their photo on the wall in the library for a year.
