Luddenham Show

Local resident Natalie Howe has been a professional photographer for six years and has just won first prize in the 2009 International Aperture Awards, the world’s most prestigious on line competition, for best wedding photo.

The 2010 Luddenham Show is Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th February at the Showground on The Northern Road at Luddenham. There will be all the usual fun events with Elvis appearing on Saturday night. This will be the 107th show with the first Luddenham Agricultural Show held in1891. It still maintains its country atmosphere with the gymkhana and animal events and the displays in the pavilion of art craft and local produce. Watch out for programmes and see www.luddenhamshow.com.au.

for senior housing. The manager Brendon Kop says, “the golf club needs to create a sustainable financial future for the club” The proposed redevelopment will involve some adjustment to the existing golf course layout and provide a new and improved club with better facilities including new recreational facilities such as gym and sport related health services. Penrith Council has agreed in principal that the land can be developed but has stated that it should not be visible from the Northern Road with viewlines to the Blue Mountains escarpment preserved. All buildings have to be setback a minimum of 80m from The Northern Road. The development must be designed in a way that maintains the rural character of The Northern Road. More details and a plan are in the December council meeting business papers at www.penrithcity.nsw.gov.au.
