Men’s Shed The Warradale Men’s Shed is a new men’s support group which is meeting fortnightly to tell jokes, tell lies, talk about health problems, work on projects and do something beneficial for the community. The next get together is 21st August in the Town Hall Annex at 10.00 am. Please come along and join us. The group is still looking for a permanent venue where tools and work benches can be kept. Local ski champions Two local girls, Montana Byers of Silverdale and Diana Lambert of Werombi, recently competed in the NSW Interschools Snowsports Competition. The team entered three events in Division 3 Girls (Years 7 & 8), Moguls, Alpine & Skier X.

The Team were successful in obtaining First Place in each event. See page 7

Prestigious Award Wallacia Licensed Post Office licensee, Margaret Fowler was recently honoured with Australia Post’s most prestigious bicentenary medal at the Museum of Contemporary Art, forming part of Australia’s Post’s bicentenary celebrations. The Fowler family have held the licence for Wallacia Licensed Post Office for over 100 years. See page 6

$23 Million Upgrade at Warragamba Dam Minister for Water, Phil Costa, recently visited the dam to announce the $23 million facelift to the electrical systems completed. Mr Costa said “It has been more than 40 years since Warragamba was finished and a major upgrade was necessary to bring the electrical systems to today’s standards.” “During the works, 233 light switches, 155 general power outlets, 500 fluorescent light fittings and a total 170 kilometres of cabling were replaced or installed. That’s almost enough cabling to reach from Sydney to Goulburn.”
