Dayton dances at the White House Dayton Tavares, the 14 year old from Glenmore Park has been starring as Billy in the Broadway production of Billy Elliot. He performed in Sydney and Melbourne before getting the invitation to star in the Broadway production nearly a year ago. Dayton was recently chosen to dance at the inaugural performance of the new White House Dance Series. The Washington Times reported ‘Hosting the event was Michelle Obama, who brought along daughters Sasha and Malia _ just home from their first day of school _ and mom Marian Robinson, too. The first lady clapped along to some of the dances but leaped to a standing ovation when Dayton Tavares, one of Broadway’s high-flying Billy Elliots, finished his song, “Electricity,” with a virtuoso set of turns’. House’. Dayton is now living in New York with his mother. His father and sisters still live in Glenmore Park but they keep in touch every day. What an amazing opportunity for such a young dancer.
Residents’ Meeting The next meeting is Tuesday 9th November 2010 at 7.30pm at the Floribunda Centre.The group will focus on positive plans and events for the future as well as dealing with local issues. Come along and be a part of this community, to either speak or just listen. The new name still needs to be chosen with a prize available.

Glenmore Park/Mulgoa Valley Writers’ Festival. Students from Glenmore Park High, Glenmore Park Public, Luddenham Public, Mulgoa Public, Regentville Public, Surveyors Creek Public, Wallacia Public, and Warragamba Public Schools wrote poetry for the event. Each school selected students to represent their school at the festival. See page 9
Blue Hills Wetland Petition Residents have been complaining about the smell and the rubbish that has been collecting in the wetlands. Penrith Council is clearing the overgrown vegetation blocking the aerator which should solve the problem. In the meantime Councillor Prue Guillaume has started a petition about the extent of the problem.
