MESSAGE FROM THE DNE JENNIFER DONG | 2019-2020 | D42W | DNE

banana gun (very dangerous)

What's Up Arctic Foxes! Happy August everybody! The first month of summer is finally over and school is inching closer and closer as we speak. (good luck to everybody going into college the following school year!) I hope everybody's summer has been eventful and packed with service projects and fundraisers!

This summer weather has been pretty chill so make sure to go out and get that vitamin d while the sun is still nice and warm c: With that being said, I'm still in my room watching shows LOL But tennis practice has started so I can't be a lazy potato ALL the time anymore :(

For all of you officers who are reaching this, prepare for the upcoming year! Always stay organized and remember to plan out fun and exciting meetings and events throughout the year, you guys got this! :0)

Welp, that's it for me for this month, I'll see you all in the next issue! <3

MESSAGE FROM THE LTG XAVIER GARCIA | 2019-2020 | D42W | LTG

Dear Arctic Foxes, Another month has passed and i'm so excited for what's in store for our division in the month of July! The June DCM was such a great way to get out in the summer weather and hang out with our neighboring division, D42E. Thank you to everybody that could make it out to that event!

Summer break is not only a time to relax and enjoy being away from school, but it is a time to strive to become a better leader in your community. Let's continue to serve our division with a fist held high and a open mindset for positive changes and lasting impacts.

With the school year just around the corner, prepare for the recruitment of new members into your club. Whether your school has club rushes or announcements early in the morning, it is crucial to promote Key Club in any way possible! Make friends with new members during club meetings and speak out about how Key Club has impact your life! I hope to see many new faces in our future DCMs, and I can't wait to meet every one of them. Keep that service in your hearts and make this summer one to remember!

SPOTLIGHT OF SERVICE AUGUST 2019

BEE GREEN!

What's chillin Arctic Foxes? This months spotlight on service program is to keep our environment clean and to be proactive around our communities. A great and easy way to get out and create some change in your community is to host a beach, park, or neighborhood clean up! Another way to encourage environmental awareness is to host a recycling drive where you and your club collect recyclable items and dispose them into recycling bins! The world needs your help to keep it clean; be the change you want to see!

FUNDRAISING

IDEAS

- sell bottles & cans

- partner with companies

collect plastic bottles and aluminum cans and sell them at recycling centers. You can donate the proceeds to a charity! partner up with an eco-friendly company to raise funds to donate or for your club to host a big event! Some examples include reusable bag companies, Plymouth greeting cards, the Fair Trade Company, and more!

In the month of June, Oxnard Key Club earned a total of 270 service hours with our 6 service events. Members were kept busy with new volunteering opportunities each week, even during the summer. The active members of the club are dedicated and volunteer no matter what time the event is at. At our two past fundraisers, the outdoor movie night and at graduation, the club raised $235 to fight MNT and raised $407 for club funds. Thank you to all the arctic foxes that came out to support! Oxnard’s passion for service has increased with each event and members definitely enjoy volunteering, especially at festivals. We have much more stored for July, so we can’t wait!
