letter from the LTG Xavier Garcia, 2019-2020 D42W LTG Hello Division 42W, as the end of school rolls around and everyone is finishing up Ap testing and finals, I hope all of you are looking forward to summer as much as I am! Remember to find ways for your clubs to stay active during the summer! Try to have something simple even it's a clean up once a month! Thank you to everyone who attended the end of the year banquet. It was really nice to see how many people were committed to serving this division last year and I'm extremely confident we will build off of last year and improve as a whole. Also thank you to all the schools that submitted their MRF's and articles and visuals! Let's all aim for a perfect submission record! In terms for the future, I will be attending my first training this upcoming weekend and I hope to learn skills on how to better our division. I am currently planning the June DCM and making sure it's fun and proactive! I am also looking forward to attending Officer Training Conference this summer, as it's a good way to get a overview of all the different positions and to meet new people from not only our division but from our sister division and Kiwins!

letter from the DNE Jennifer Dong , 2019-2020 D42W DNE Hello everybody! My name is Jennifer Dong and I would like to proudly introduce myself as the new DNE for the 2019-2020 term! I'm beyond excited to serve this division to the best of my abilities, and i'm confident that this term will be amazing! A little bit about myself: I attend Pacifica High School and I was a former editor for my school's Key Club! I was elected as president since the last club elections, and I'm super excited to serve my home club (I love them all sm :'( My hobbies consist of playing tennis, drawing, and watching my shows (i.e. game of thrones) ;) I hope that as the term continues, these newsletters will be more captivating and exciting for all of you guys to read! I love designing and improving my skills so I'm super excited to get started. Well that's all for me, I'll see you guys next month and I hope you enjoy my first issue of The Fox News !!

CLUB UPDATES

CHANNEL ISLANDS HIGH SCHOOL SUBMITTED BY: NIKKI SINCERO

Monthly Updates The month of April for Channel Islands High School was one that primarily focused on elections for next year’s Key Club cabinet. On April 5th, various candidates for each position gave out a two-minute speech and had a oneminute caucus. As a result, the following members were voted for their respective position: Melocris Sabilla as Sergeant-at-Arms, Nikki Sincero as Publicist/Editor, Den Earl Dulos as Treasurer, Brandon Farne as Secretary, Marcus Lagman as Vice President, and Samantha Radwich as President. Not only that, former president, Derek Malvin, attended DCON at Ontario, California on April 12th. At the convention, he witnessed the new term of Key Club’s LTG for 2019-2020. Overall, this month of April was in preparation for the next year and we, as the new cabinet, will continue carrying out the legacy of Key Club.

CLUB UPDATES The month of april was not every eventfully with regards with community service events with on one service event at the end of the month, things have been kind of slow. District convention event sunk up on us and next thing you know , 3 of our members from oxnard went to Ontario. We volunteered at the aut-to run, which was autism awareness run  and there was worked the vip area. Oxnard key club has a lot of plans and fundraisers for the month of may including the Kiwanis Track Meet and the California strawberry festival.

RIO MESA HIGH SCHOOL SUBMITTED BY: ANGELIQUE IBARRA

Angela Aromin: President THE BIGGEST THINGS NECESSARY FOR BEING PRESIDENT ARE NOT BEING SHY, AND BEING ABLE TO CONNECT TO PEOPLE. YOU HAVE TO BE ABLE TO DO THINGS, AND NOT BE AFRAID TO MAKE EMAILS OR PHONE CALLS. YOU ALSO HAVE TO RESEARCH A LOT FOR EVENTS. ONE THING I’VE NOTICED IS THAT THERE’S LESS MEMBERS IN THE CLUB AT THE END OF THE YEAR, SO I WANT TO WORK OUT WAYS TO GET PEOPLE TO STAY, AND GET MORE PEOPLE TO JOIN, TOO! WE COULD PROBABLY MAKE ATTENDING MOST MEETINGS A REQUIREMENT TO BE A MEMBER, AND IF THEY MISS AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF MEETINGS, ABOUT FOUR OF THEIR SERVICE HOURS COULD BE “CANCELLED.” WE COULD ALSO GIVE OUT AWARDS WITHIN THE CLUB IF PEOPLE MEET A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF HOURS, TO MOTIVATE PEOPLE! NEXT YEAR DURING OUR RECRUIT WE COULD GO CLASSROOM TO CLASSROOM TO SPREAD AWARENESS ABOUT OUR CLUB, AND DURING THE CLUB DRIVE WE COULD LIST THE ACTIVITIES WE DO.

MONTHLY UPDATES CREATE A HOLIDAY NEWSLETTER THAT YOU CAN SEND OUT TO YOUR RELATIVES, FRIENDS, OR EVEN TO THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY JUST BEFORE THE CHRISTMAS SEASON ARRIVES. YOU CAN INFORM PEOPLE ABOUT UPCOMING EVENTS, SHARE EXCITING NEWS, OR SIMPLY SPREAD HOLIDAY CHEER.
