Service Recap
Build-A-Bike | Valley On Sunday, June 26th, Valley Key Club successfully completed a project 9 months in the making, Build-a-Bike with Valley Key Club. Through countless fundraisers and meetings, we were able to raise over $2500 to purchase and assemble 40 bikes for children at the St. Jude's Foundation in Boulder City. 14 Valley Key Clubbers came together at McGhie's Ski and Bicycle shop in Henderson to assemble bikes for toddlers, children, and teenagers. Although many of us had no clue how to assemble a bike, we had plenty of help from the technicians that generously volunteered their time. We learned how to adjust handles, install training wheels, place streamers, and even how to install wheels! Over the course of just a few hours, we strengthened our bonds with one another while making a difference in the lives of others. Overall, Build-a-Bike with Valley Key Club was a successful project, and I hope that we can do this once again! - Cassandra Pascua, Valley

Kiwanis Firework Booth, July 1st— July 4th Valley Key Club attended the Kiwanis Firework Booth On July 4th. When I arrived there I was greeted by other Key Club members and Kiwanis. All of them were very inviting! We were all given instructions on how everything runs, how transactions work and questions customers may have. From 3pm to 9pm we greeted customers and took transactions, held signs and bonded closer with the Key Club members there all having a thing in common to help and make our community a better place. I felt as though I bonded furthermore with the Valley Key Clubbers that attended and with this the new Key Club members I met. The thing I really liked about this service event/fundraiser is that all proceeds made with the fireworks will be made as a donation to Kiwanis which in turn will go towards us Key Club members. It was extremely fun, with all the bonding, laughs and skills we obtained I would do this all over again next year. - Estefany Merino, Valley

Technology Organization With Aaron | Valley Jose Loya On June 22nd, Valley Key Club (including I) had the wonderful opportunity of helping Aaron, the technology official at our school with organizing monitors and computer brains to exporting them and placing them in a storage room. Though not a grandiloquent amount of volunteers showed up, we still managed to get the task done in under an hour, and with time to spare, we bonded together as a small group. The event was great in that sense {Being able to bond with the volunteers} and in the sense that we were helping the school out with a task, no matter how small or how big.

June Board Meeting– June 27, 2016 | Green Valley Monday, June 27th, GV key club had an executive council meeting at Café Rio. The ambiance was filled with Latino food and the board enjoyed many of Café Rio's dishes while we discussed Key Club goals for the next year. During the meeting we discussed summer events, back-to-school tasks, and even went over some RTC plans. The summer board meeting was a huge success. Hopefully the July board meeting goes just as smoothly at Jason's Deli. -Mackienzy Kahl , 12
