What’s up, Orcas? Let's all make this next month amazing! March will be one of the last months of my term, and I am incredibly proud of all of the hard work you all have put into Key Club. As always, continue to serve your community and do amazing things. Be sure to keep up with the service projects and fundraisers! See you at the next DCM :)

Howdy, Orcas! It’s almost Spring! This also means we are about two thirds of the way through the school year! Everyone’s been doing amazing, and I am proud of you all for continuing to persevere and do your best in school, Key Club, and everything else! I hope you all enjoy the Studio Ghibli theme! Thank you for taking the time to read this month’s newsletter <3

Some of the Winter greeting cards made by members!

Guajome Park has been staying active, and in January they hosted many events! Some of their recent activity includes: making greeting cards for winter/valentines for our loved ones done by the end of January the 25th giving the opportunity to earn service hours and having a month-long Charity Miles competition. Guajome Park also plans on making a clothing drive in April! Furthermore, in January and February they have been doing their best to recruit new orcas into the family, and as of Early February they have 2 new orcas!

Precautions: Confirm donation rules & guidelines with any hospital that you plan on donating items to prior to hosting your event. CARLSBAD

On Saturday, February 20, Orcas flew over to the Bee Mine DCM for a fun and silly meeting! Orcas got to hear the usual updates, plus an introduction from our LTG-Elect! Afterwards, we had a guest speaker who informed our division about the Thirst Project while we created posters for it! It was an amazing opportunity for the division to learn about one of the organizations Key Club is partnered with. Finally, we ended the meeting with fun “speed dating” games where we got to meet different people and bond with them quickly! Overall, the DCM was very educational and fun!

What is the Thirst Project? The Thirst Project is the world’s largest youth-led organization that is committed to helping the global water crisis. Currently in the world, 600 million people don’t have access to clean water, and the amazing volunteers of the Thirst Project are working to change that. Key Club is partnered with the Thirst Project, and recently they held the Hydrate for 28 campaign together.

Thank you Mr. Azimi, Ms. Hamamoto, Mr. Yasuoka, Mr. Klein, Mr. De Anda, Ms. Lumabas, and Mrs. Qualm for being our chaperones!
