How’s Summer Orcas?! I hope all of your summers have been going great! We’ve had a blast this summer through a Division Beach Clean Up and NemO-TC! Key Club has definitely made my summer better, so I hope you can say the same. We recently finished up Quarter 1 of this term! You did it! 75% of the term to go! It still is crazy to me how fast time flies. It feels like just yesterday, when I got officially installed at DCON. Speaking of DCON, the theme has been revealed to be “Sea Of Service”. So as an Orca, it would only be right if you are available to attend! Save up now for DCON, it is an experience you DEFINITELY want to have. Anyways, continue making this Division thrive, and especially live up to my favorite saying, “WEST IS BEST”!

Your LTG,

Hey Orcas! Can’t you believe it’s already August? I feel like summer has just flown by. I hope all of you have enjoyed our Summer activities so far, like DCM’s, beach cleanups, and NemO-TC! (Look forward for RTC later this fall!) I hope all of you are ready to take on the school year and expand your clubs and meet new people. We’re inching closer and closer to dues season and Fall Rally South, so I’m hoping that with your help, we’ll work towards getting 1st place at this year’s Spirit Rally and ultimately being the best Division out there. Remember: West is BEST! In this issue, you will see some a recap of our summer activities such as the Kiwanis Breakfast, fundraisers, the June DCM, and NemO-TC of course! Thanks for being such an incredible division. It’s amazing to see what you can accomplish. Keep it up, Orcas!

Julie Tran | El Camino Summer has officially begun! El Camino Key Club kicked off the start of summer by gathering at MLK Park on Tuesday, June 14 to hold their general meeting as well as a service event. As members arrived, President Mia Cruz began the first meeting of the summer by getting members caught up to date with current events and announcing upcoming events such as the June DCM and Fundraiser! Spirit Coordinator Jonah Gathright led members in a brain game and shortly after, the EC Key Club members participated in an hour of community service for Color a Smile! Way to stay involved with Key Club El Camino!

Daniela Vucenic | RBV On June 12th key clubbers from both Vista High and Rancho Buena Vista participated in the Kiwanis pancake breakfast at Applebee's. It was flipping awesome! During the breakfast students served food, drinks, and cleaned tables. Students served their community and got funds for their clubs. The most memorable part of the breakfast by far was the life sized cut out of Tom Cruise. Everything's better with Tom Cruise. Antonio Ramos can be seen in a wonderful picture with the Tom cruise cut out. This event was fun, rewarding, and a great way of letting key clubs from different schools bond!

Molly Glass | Sage Creek To raise money for the Sage Creek Key Club, members got together at one of the local parks to paint. Following along with a Bob Ross tutorial, each person was able to create their own version of the painting. It was an enjoyable experience that allowed everyone to get to know each other and just have fun while helping to support our club.

On a bright summer day, Division 37 West Orcas gathered together by the beach for their June DCM. LTG Asia Chan went over several updates, such as NEMO-TC in July. Spirit Coordinator Jonah Gathright led several games such as a human knot and acting out movies. Later on, members had the opportunity to earn service hours by participating in a beach cleanup. Some interesting trash members found included a bicycle tire and decaying baby toys. Overall, this DCM was fun as always, and especially as we get into the school year, we’re looking forward to more DCM’s and meeting new members!

Chelsie Macasa | Mission Vista

Hey Orcas! I’m Chelsie, Mission Vista’s president! Our club initially had a lack of active members and has never been that known at our school, but we’re slowly gaining more traction and seeing more consistent club members. I’m so excited for our club to grow overall and create a noteworthy impact on our school and community. Our club is also looking forward to curating service projects with meaningful causes and putting an effort into being more involved. We hope to improve our club and get closer with the rest of the division, especially at DCM’s and Fall Rally!! President Spotlight
