Temple Heights Elementary Campout Callie Warren | MVHS

On September 23, the Mission Vista High School Key Club had the opportunity to volunteer at Temple Heights Elementary School’s Campout. This event is annual for the school in which students get to do activities around the school until it turns dark, and they get to stay the night in tents with their parents. It is basically one big sleepover, and the students were very excited for this event. Regarding Key Club, our members got to take charge of tables where students did arts and crafts like painting or making beaded necklaces while some were in charge of the photobooth. This was the first service event our club held for this year after club rush, so we had a very good turnout with over 40 students attending. Doing this event with so many students and volunteers is something so dear to our club, and it makes us even more motivated to do more events and give out more opportunities to members of our club so we can keep up this positive attitude when helping our community.

Chick-Fil-A Fundraiser

Daniela Vucenic | RBV

On September 13th Rancho Buena Vista’s key club had a fundraiser at Chick-Fil-A to raise money for PTP! Waffle fries after a long day really do hit the spot!! Members of the key club stood outside telling customers about them to mention the fundraiser with their order. 15% of the profits. We made a grand total of This was one of our most successful fundraisers, many new members there to help support. fun, successful and most importantly it was scrumptious!

Rock the Hill Callie Warren | MVHS

Having the experience to enjoy something like Rock the Hill at Mission Vista High School is astonishing. On September 30, MVHS held another annual event called Rock the Hill, which is an event where student bands get to play a concert lineup for the rest of the school to hear. While doing so, many clubs get the chance to sell food or drink items for the students to get the opportunity to raise money for their club. The Mission Vista Key Club got this opportunity, and we sold Krispy Kreme donuts for all of the sweet-tooths. Little did we know, our 10 dozen donuts sold out in under 2 hours, before the event was even half over. Our club was so excited to have this opportunity to sell food for the opportunity to raise funds to go towards Fall Rally South, a Six Flags trip Key Clubs all around Southern California are attending in November. Doing this fundraiser and event are only making our club one step closer to having the time of our lives at FRS also while spreading the mission Key Clubs sets us out to do; to give back to the community.

OCTOBER DCM

On a bright and spirited afternoon, Division 37 West gathered together at Martin Luther King Junior Park for their October DCM. Serving also as a spirit session, the October DCM was much awaited and gathered Key Club members eager to show their spirit as they learned their spirit cheers for Fall Rally. After going over some division updates, Spirit Coordinator Jonah Gathright along with Spirit Team Member Jacob Racela led the group in a Disney Descendants parody spirit cheer. It included choreography, which was a bit hard to grasp at first, but the unique take on the spirit cheer definitely came through and brought confidence to our members. With every practice, there is more passion and spirit fueling for Fall Rally South! Additionally, Mission Vista High School sold Halloween-themed cookies in celebration of the spooky season, colorfully decorated and well received by our orcas. Also, our division began selling spirit gear, which included blue sunglasses and fairy lights. Overall, the October DCM was definitely one to remember. It reminded our remembers of the joys of Key Club and the adrenaline required at Fall Rally. Fall Rally South here we come!
