GOLF MEMBERSHIP

HAS ITS PERKS — By Sarah Thornton

Reflection Bay Golf Club’s

annual membership program

has shown it s value with new member s and additional benefit s this year. The golf club annual program offers members preferred morning tee times with no greens fees, no cart fees and unlimited use of the members-only practice facility. Members also receive discounts including 20 percent off for guests and 20 percent off most items in the pro shop and Bayside Grill. “Golf program members also enjoy exclusive events throughout the year, including social and dining events with Lake Las Vegas executive chef Scott Commings, and priority access to community events,” said Reflection Bay gener al manager Jon Openshaw. “nd L ake L as Vegas residents that are members of the golf club get an automatic membership to the Lake Las Vegas Sports Club. It’s one of the best perks of membership, with no additional monthly or annual fees for using the Sports Club.” G ol fm em ber shaveaccessfr to eeclu bfit t i ngsw imtast h erfit terB r en dan Bergin and access to the HPGI practice facility.

Openshaw said the golf memberships offer more value than most courses in Henderson, and give both community and Henderson residents an opportunity to play their favorite sport as well as socialize and make new friends. Golf memberships were initially offered for 13 months because the course traditionally closed for overseeding from late August to late September. “Now that we aren’t overseeding anymore, our members get the full 13 months of playing time,” said Openshaw. If you have been considering a golf membership at Lake Las Vegas, you’ll save $1,500 by joining before the end of the year, when a scheduled price increase takes effect. “If you join by the end of the year, you’ll get 13 months of membership with all the amenities for $6,500,” said Openshaw. “In January, the new pricing of $8,000 per year takes effect.” Discounts are available for spouses that join together. MISS LAKE LAS VEGAS SETS HER SIGHTS ON THE NATIONAL CROWN — By Whitney Maher

Kelly Travaglio is eyeing a much bigger crown to accompany

her recently acquired tiara. Travaglio, daughter of SouthShore Country Club general manager Joseph Travaglio, donned the Miss Lake Las Vegas sash at the 2021 Miss Nevada for America Strong competition in August where she took the Miss Nevada title. The win puts her in the running for the Miss for America Strong 2021 crown at the national competition in November. Travaglio lived at Lake Las Vegas with her parents when she moved to Southern Nevada from Chicago, and worked at SouthSheor Country Club alongside her dad. “When I first moved to Lake Las Vegas, it immediately felt like a peaceful desert oasis far enough outside the hectic scenes along the Las Vegas Strip,” Travaglio said. “I’m proud to represent such a beautiful and calming community.”

Q&A WITH LAKE LAS VEGAS RESIDENT

The statewide competition was Travaglio’s largest platform to advocate for mental health awareness and to share her struggles with anxiety and a panic disorder. Travaglio is set to walk the stage once again at the Miss America Strong competition set for November 18 at the Westgate in Las Vegas. Fans can show their support by casting a vote in the People’s Choice Awards leading up to the pageant, with the winner announced on the evening of the competition. Each vote is $5, with half of the proceeds going to the pageant’s featured nonprofit,Victoria’sVoice, andhalfgoingtheo winer’scharofity choice.Travagliso supportingthe National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Southern Nevada, the largest grassroots mental health organization in the country dedicated to helping those affected by mental illness.

BRISTOL ELLINGTON We sat down with Lake Las Vegas resident Bristol Ellington to get his perspective on “life at the lake.” HOW LONG HAVE YOU LIVED AT LLV? My wife Brenda and I moved to Henderson in 1996 from West Palm Beach, Florida. We lived and raised our two kids in Green Valley for 17 years before moving to Lake Las Vegas in January of 2015. Our home is in Bella Fiore and we absolutely love the community. WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE THINGS ABOUT LIVING HERE? The best thing about living in Lake Las Vegas is that we feel like we are on vacation staying at a plush resort. Every time I turn onto Lake Las Vegas Boulevard I start to decompress. We love the trails, the open space, the recreational amenities including the lake and the activities at The Village. I must give a shout out to Dann Battistone and his staff at the Sports Club for the numerous events, parties, and happy hours. It’s a great way to stay connected with friends and neighbors as well as a great opportunity to meet new neighbors. YOU SERVE ON THE LAKE LAS VEGAS HOMEOWNER’S ASSOCIATION? I was designated by the City as a permanent member as required by the master CC&Rs. (Bristol is the assistant city manager for the City of Henderson). Serving on the board allows me to keep abreast of topics that impact the community and I hope the board benefitsfromyexpertiseasaCityOfficialandformerurbanplanner.

MRS. LAKE LAS VEGAS Travaglio’s journey to the crown was accompanied by Lake Las Vegas resident Ashley Tesoro, who was recently crowned Mrs. Nevada International 2022 after taking the Mrs. Nevada-America 2020 title at the state’s premier competition for Nevada’s married women. Tesoro is now in the running for the Mrs. International crown, a world-wide competition featuring contestants from countries all over the world. The Mrs. International competition will commence next summer in Kingsport, Tennessee. “This is an exciting time in my life and I’m so thrilled to compete while representing this beautiful community here at Lake Las Vegas,” Tesoro said. WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE SOMEONE WHO JUST MOVED TO LAKE LAS VEGAS? My advice to anyone moving into Lake Las Vegas is to not be afraid of getting involved, whether serving on your community’s HOA or the Master Association Board to joining the Sport Club for recreational and social opportunities. WHAT DO YOU THINK LLV RESIDENTS SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THE CITY OF HENDERSON? You are truly getting the most bang for your buck for city services. Henderson has one of the lowest employee-to-citizen ratios in the valley and property tax rates are the lowest of any major city in Nevada. The City maintains almost 70 parks, one within a 10-minute walk from every household, and more than 180 miles of trails. A full transcript of the interview is available on our website. Did you know Lake Las Vegas is home to an award-winning rowing club for both youth and adults? The Lake Las Vegas Rowing Club, helmed by resident Jim Anderson, is gaining traction as one of the top rowing clubs in the state.

Since he founded the club in 2016, Anderson has shared his love for rowing with the Las Vegas community. “The best thing about rowing is there is no experience required. Everyone is welcome,” he said. “It’s the perfect opportunity to meet people and build lasting friendships.” Anderson said the club’s mission is to promote rowing and develop the athletes’ teamwork, communication and leadership skills. “Rowing is an incredible sport, but the lessons we teach that translate outside of the water are imperative,” Anderson said. “Yes, my job is to teach owing, r but building members’ self-confidence and helping them findasenseofpurposeiswhyIavesuchpassionforcoaching.”

FINDING PARADISE, HEALTH, & LAUGHTER WITH

MICHAEL YO

Deluxe Version

LIVING

—By Sarah Jenkins The glittering metropolis

that is Las Vegas has long served as a source of artistic inspiration. For two-time Emmy nominated comedian, actor, and talk show host Michael Yo, Las Vegas offers a wealth of material for his standup segments. Appearing frequently at the Comedy Cellar at the Rio Hotel and Casino, Yo says he loves the diversity of characters he encounters on a day-to-day basis living in Las Vegas. In early 20, Yo was one of the first people to be hospitalized with COVID in Los Angeles, a period during which he almost died. After being in the ICU for eight days, him and his wife did some reevaluating about life and priorities, and ultimately decided to relocate to Lake Las Vegas to be closer to family, which offered a vibrant entertainment outlet alternative to Los Angeles.

“Me and my family love Lake Las Vegas,” Yo says. “It’s like waking up in a tropical resort everyday. People are nice, great community, and lots of activities for the family.” When I caught Yo over the phone, he was in Utah, having just wrapped shooting an upcoming show, “Amber Brown”, which is set to air on Apple TV+. Written and directed by Bonnie Hunt, the comedy series centers on a family navigating different chapters of their lives. Family dynamics as subject matter isn’t new to Yo; he tackled similar themes in his debut Amazon Prime comedy special “Michael Yo: Blasian”. As a comedian, Yo tackles the beauty and complexities of multi-generational relationships with a unique, witty take. In December 2021, he is set to shoot a new standup special, and says he will heavily incorporate how the lows of his COVID battle brought forward new meaning and inspiration to his life. He also heavily credits his family as the backbone of everything he does, as well as the source of endless comedic material. Yo says this comedy special will take off right where “Blasian” left off. “I talk about my life…my standup is like a real-life sitcom of my life,” he says. “Almost dying from COVID…now I have like, a ten-minute joke about it, where it’s the lowest point in my life, but since was I oneofthefirstpeople[hospitalized],there’s been a lot of great things that have happened.” He pauses to eflect r . “That’s what I love about comedy; my near-death experience is now something that enlightens people, gives people my point of view of what I went through, and it can make people laugh at the same time.” You can follow Michael Yo @Michaelyo on instagram

DEAL HER IN, SHE READY! TIFFANY HADDISH TALKS LOVE & HER NEW LOOK – By Rachel Smith I’m not sure if blondes have more fun I’m not sure if blondes

have more fun, but Tiffany Haddish is undoubtedly having the time of her life, lighter locks or not. When I spoke with the always energetic actress and comedian, she was loving her new do’ and all the momentum surrounding her career right now as she has one movie lined up after another. The latest called for less comedy and more chemistry as she steams up the screen with smoldering Oscar Isaac. Tiffany said when she got the script, “I was kind of surprised because I thought we were just friends, but then, oh no, there’s more to it!” There’s a lot more to her role in “The Card Counter,” which is in theaters now. She doubles down on the drama as “La Linda,” which stands for Lady Luck. While the film is set in the world of gambling, Tiffany would rather bet on herself than at the tables, although she did tell me she’s got her own gambling nickname, “Tiff-nicity” because (she sings),

I’m in the city, and I’m full of tenacity!

Whether it’s singing or making a joke, Tiffany is just as entertaining in an interview as she is on screen. Lately, she’s been serving up that signature energy and sensational looks everywhere, from the Venice Film Festival to Las Vegas, where she’s shoting her latest film. Befoer Tiffany’s new wax figuer was unveiled to he public, she decided to prank people at Madame Tussauds at the Venetian, delighting unsuspecting fans. “You just feel like our friend,” I tell her, referencing how much fun she has with fans and how she’s always so real and relatable. “Thank you very much, and I am most people’s friend. I’m your friend until you act up,” Hadish says candidly. Clearly, Oscar Isaac didn’t ‘act up’ as she praises her co-star and how he helped her performance. “Oscar is just a phenomenal actor, so I was watching and learning from him,” said Haddish. Oscar has, in turn, praised Tiffany calling her “one of the most warm and vibrant people he’s ever worked with.” It’s no surprise she’s winning over co-stars and fans with every role as she seems to shine with positive energy that’s truly infectious. At The Top Of His Game – By Dayna Roselli

“I was created to create.” Derek Hough is at the top of his game. He turned out TikTok content like a master while on lockdown, he recently returned from an incredible trip to Africa, he has a Las Vegas show opening in September, and he just received two more Emmy nominations. That brings Hough to 11 nominations and 2 Emmys, “to be nominated for two Emmy awards, it’s wild, in a year that seemed like nothing was going to happen, it’s pretty amazing, I’m thankful and humbled.” He’s especially thankful for Dancing with the Stars, “I’ve been so fortunate to have this platform that allows me to dream big, and come up with crazy ideas like a rotating room… or I say, I need to have this lighting or this music… to have a platform and be able to have those visions be manifested, it really is a blessing I’m so thankful. I can only take some of the credit for it, it definitely takes a village.” Hough says he had no idea his life would take this path. As a kid, he wanted to be a rockstar and play in a rock band. Once he started on Dancing with the Stars, the reaction to his choreography made him think, “people were like, I really like your choreography, and I never saw myself like that at all, then I thought, oh wait I know what I’m doing, I need to trust my instincts, this is real!” Now he is a rockstar in his own way. He says, “it’s kinda cool because I’m able to sort of live out that dream but through dance and my live shows, and I really do feel like I’m able to rock out, that’s how I describe my shows, it’s like a rock concert but for dance.” That’s exactly what you’ll get when Hough kicks off his new show at The Venetian Las Vegas in the fall. He’s hitting all the genres, from rock and roll to big band. He’s covering the gamut, “I have a Michael Bublé song in there and he was kind enough to send me the stems from his band. It’s going to have many styles, it takes you on the journey.” Hough has hand-picked all the dancers and he will dance and sing in the show. Now, let’s talk about life and love. What does Derek Hough do with his free time? He says he’s usually on an adventure or doing yard work. Yes, you read that right, “I’m doing something active… wake surfing, hikng or chilng with my animals at home, relaxing, gardening, watering plants, leaf blowing the driveway, and making sure it’s clean… I love doing yard work I love being outside.” He also spends time with his longtime girlfriend, Hayley Erbert. Hough says, “we have this little thing, an adventure challenge… it’s a scratch card, you

basically just scratch the thing off and it gives you a date… it’s like alright go to the grocery store, buy this, go home, cook it, blindfold one person or something.. it’s a fun way to switch it up a little bit!” Here’s Hough’s advice on creating a successful relationship. He says mentors are important, “there’s so much information, so much wisdom outhereyoucanfindonYouTubeandonthe internet, so for me, my advice would be to listen to things, that’s what I’ve done, I listen to relationship experts and listen to people like Esther Perel or other people… I’ve learned so many tools and tips and just habits of things

to strengthen relationships and work through things… seek out wisdom and knowledge from these amazing people who are offering it for free and take it in.” Like many of us, Hough watched a lot of television during the pandemic last year. He says he watched more TV than he did in 10 years. He loves Marvel, and superhero shows and movies. Hough is excited to be with people again, he knows his calling is to perform LIVE. He says he has a lot of pent-up energy, and he really just wants to bring people joy.

Emelina has proven herself in both careers early on, splitting her time between modeling and acting, which is no easy feat. Her enviable ascension to the top has culminated as a featured model for Guess and acting in herbiggestandlatestfildat tom e,BuletTr ai,n alongside Brad Pitt, Sandra Bullock, Michael Shannon, among other megastars, which premiers sometime next year. Where did she make her break? Emelina credits that to pageantry, namely being crowned Miss Nevada in 2016, which she paired with book smarts in the form of a degree in pre-law and psychology after graduating from U of A. She has been committed to refining her cr aft for the last few year s while attending Graham Shiel’s acting school. Today she is absolutely relentless. Wake up calls at 6 A.M. means early focus and organization of all her collaborations, content, castings, and auditions; keeping the opportunities in front of her bountiful.

Of those opportunities she’s earned, the actress has been in a handful of prominent projects, the most notable being the last season of Net flix 13 Reasons Wh,y where she played the character Priscilla. Her thirst to be an on-screen star stemmed from her early vocation,

The ultimate goal for me was to be an accomplished actress, I always knew anything I did should help me reach my goals in my acting career.

She’s just getting started but has another feature film star ring evK in Har t due out nex t year as well. Her fashion prowess also began at an early age with a childhood dream of becoming a Guess Girl. Having been inspired by the likes of famous icons who started their career in modeling and made the transition to acting like Halle Berry, Emelina took advantage of taking any break she could, “I started small with conventions, promos, and print shoots.” She then manifested her own destiny and applied to work for her dream brand, Guess, only to be accepted without any help from an outside agency after some persistence. She puts it simply, “I make things happen for myself. I told agents for years, I’m a perfect Guess girl, I had the Guess girl look. I had to be

proactive and go after it. I ended up shooting with a Guess photographer, and he sent my photos and booked me right there on the spot. It was a dream.” Well, her dream has come to life where she currently represents the Guess brand each month with multiple lines. When both types of cameras are not rolling, you might be sur prised to find Emelina with a bow and arrow in hand practicing archery as a hobby she’s had for years now. More likely, though, she’s sun tanning on the beach or traveling. On most days, she lives a normal life like the down-to-earth hubris she embodies: staying in with her Pomerania and watching Net flix just liek the rest of us. The bot om line for the entrepreneurial go-getter Emelina Adams is that the rumors are true, “I’ve earned everything for myself in my career”. She is as sophisticated as she is beautiful, as intelligent as she is fashionable, and as hardworking as she is humble. She has all the right qualities to make for a scripted Hollywood ending. Following her career will be a fun ride to the top where you will see an American girl’s dreams come true, and a success story unfold.

“The partnership between Zouk Group and Resorts World Las Vegas has allowed us to create the newest, most exciting nightlife experiences on the Las Vegas Strip,” says Ronn Nicolli, the Vice President of Nightlife and Lifestyle Marketing. While Zouk is an established and well-known nightlife and lifestyle brand for 30 years overseas, it’s still in the early stages of building brand awareness in the domestic market. Nicolli says, “at Resorts World Las Vegas, we’ve brought together a multiplicity of experiences in one entertainment complex, including Zouk Nightclub and Ayu Dayclub featuring can’t-miss performances by resident DJs Tiësto and Zedd; as well as RedTail, a new-style social gaming bar, and FUHU, an Asianinfluencedvibedinigvenue.” ZoukGro p’sCEO, ndrewL,i flewinforthegr andopening.Heknows Las Vegas is a competitive market, but he’s ready for it, “throughout the years, I’ve gotten to experience Vegas as a customer, and on any given weekend you can see the world’s top talent perform across the Strip. It was important for us to create meaningful experiences and customer service and truly make it part of the Zouk Group’s core foundation in Las Vegas.” First impressions are everything and Zouk knows that. we’ve been able to create the most exciting nightlife experiences on the Las Vegas Strip. As we get to know this brand-new strip side nightclub, I had some questions for each of the leadership team members. This should help you navigate your way inside and guarantee a memorable night out. If I’m visiting Las Vegas and want to spend a night at Zouk… what’s the best way to get in? Michael Waltman, Executive Director of Operations “Zouk takes this idea of familiarity and does things that exceed any guest’s expectation. Having advanced technology, a lineup of diverse talent, and unique programming unlike anything else in the city really allows us to create a new and exciting environment for our guests. From a digital-forward booking and in-venue ordering experience to QRcode entry and mobile queueing, we’ve looked at how we can improve the guest experience through every touchpoint of the customer journey. TRANSFORMING THE PALATE OF THE HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY WITH

JOHN KUNKEL

Famed restaurateur

John Kunkel and his team at 50 Eggs Hospitality Group have mastered the art of grabbing guests’ attention. Kunkel’s highly regarded restaurant portfolio features six unique brands with 13 locations around the globe. Soon to be launching the much-anticipated WAKUDA concept, Kunkel is getting ready to shake the gastronomic ground of Singapore and Las Vegas by taking high-end Japanese dining to new, elevated heights. Kunkel’s recipe for success has been perfected over the last two decades. He began in 2001 with a small bakery café in Miami Beach, and 50 Eggs is now celebrating its twenty-year anniversary. Well-known for its signature, palate-pleasing concepts Yardbird and CHICA, along with Capri and Spritz Pool Restaurant and Bar, an elevated coastal cuisine overlooking the pool in The Venetian Resort, the 50 Eggs empire is ever-expanding. Branching out to new cities, Yardbird is slated to open in Chicago in 2022, and CHICA will open its doors to the après ski scene in Aspen, CO, in mid-November. The CHICA concept, a partnership with celebrity chef Lorena Garcia, pays homage to Latin cuisine and culture. A remodel of the Las Vegas location, located at The Venetian Resort, is currently underway and set to be completed in mid-December. “Our design partners at Rockwell Group created a beautiful award-winning design for CHICA Miami that we all fell in love with, so we chose to remodel the Las Vegas restaurant to resemble the Miami design,” said Kunkel, 50 Eggs CEO, and founder. He attributes his company’s success to a combination of hard work, quality, innovation, and gathering the right team. “Cooking‘ al carbón’ - over charcoal and wood - is the heart and soul of L atin cuisine. dding wo d fire grils, among other specialized features in our kitchen, will create a nuanced and authentic flavor in our dishes. ” According to Kunkel, who began his career in the restaur ant industr y at fifteen year s old, the dining scene continues to evolve,

and he’s seen several changes over the last two decades. “Chefs are creating new and interesting dishes, and mixologists continue to amaze,” he said.

Fine dining as we know it is no longer boring, quiet, and cold. It’s dynamic, vibrant, and fun. Design is more important than ever. Truly, everyone is eating with all of their senses in a restaurant.

50 Eggs will satiate guests’ appetites for a full-sensory dining experience at their newest concept, WAKUDA. A partnership with twoMichelin-star Chef Tetsuya Wakuda. WAKUDA will debut at the Marina Bay Sands Singapore in early 2022 and in Las Vegas at The Venetian Resort in spring 2022. WAKUDA will anchor the lobby of The Palazzo Tower and include a patio overlooking the Las Vegas Strip. This will bechefTet suya’sfir strestaur antin heUnited States. “Chef Tetsuya is one of the top chefs in the world, and his attention to quality and detail is nothing short of perfection,” Kunkel said. “The level of Japanese cuisine he will bring to Las Vegas has not been done before.”

ROASTED CAULIFLOWER CHICA Restaurant

When it comes to staying ahead of the trends, 50 Eggs has played an undeniably influential role in tr ansfor ming the palate of the hospitality industry. “I would say entertainment dining seems to be becoming more and more popular,” emphasized Kunkel, who carefully analyzes each market, looking for trends as well as to see what’s not represented in that market. “Less and less people want to go out to a nightclub, and more people want to enjoy a dynamic culinary experience in a vibrant atmosphere and then stay and party and drink the night away.” Kunkel, whose company culture sets 50 Eggs apart from the competition, explained how understanding the power of food and how it brings people together was an integral part of his success. “Understanding what a restaurant should be is key,” he said. “At its best, a restaurant is a place to share stories, break bread, experience memories with the ones you love and care about, and it is a connection point that is necessary for all of us.”

the music & passion of

JEWEL Written By Allison Kugel Photographed By Dana Trippe

The first thing

I noticed when I sat down with Jewel was her beautifully sculpted cheekbones and trademark smile, but I was instantly redirected toward her glow, a warm and welcoming glow emanating from that same place where, no doubt, her poetic music and lyrics originate. I wanted to learn more. It hasn’t been easy for Jewel, the daughter of a single father who experienced post-Vietnam PTSD and self-medicated with alcohol. The impoverished father/daughter duo knocked around bars in Jewel’s home state of Alaska, crooning just to barely pay the bils. On her own, by the age of fifteen, escaping an abusive home environment, the multi platinum, multi-award-winning artist poured her pain, anxiety, depression, and confusion into some of the most lyrically potent and widely listened to the music of the past two and a half decades. She became a music icon in the process.

Discovered in a Southern California coffee house with little more than her guitar, Jewel would go on to sell more than thirty million albums, and it all started with her 1995 breakout album, Pieces of You, which just celebrated its 25th-anniversary last year. Hits like Standing Still, Hands, Who Will Save Your Soul, You Were Meant for Me, and Intuition eflect r Jewel’s evolutinary inward journey and continue to resonate worldwide across many cultures. It’s no wonder The Voice producer, Mark Burnett, calls Jewel “One of the greatest singer-songwriters in history.” Now, the forty-seven-year-old mother of one has devoted much of her public platform to mental health advocacy and what she gleefully calls her ongoing practice of “being consciously present” with her experiences. Never Broken, Jewel’s New York Times bestselling memoir and nod to her

hit song, Hands, offers free mindfulness and mental health resources and what she refers to as ‘actionable exercises.’ At the same time, her second annual World Mental Health Day Summit and Concert took place virtually on Sunday, October 10th, at TheWellnessExperience.com. Jewel’s much anticipated upcoming album eew Fr heelin’ Woman, which eflect r s her personal and musical evolution of “being on this side of life,” as she lovingly calls her current chapter, will be released in Spring 2022. JEWEL’S INSPIRING CHILDREN FOUNDATION PROVIDES YOUNG PEOPLE & ADULTS THE TOOLS TO MANAGE ANXIETY.. For nearly two decades, Jewel’s Inspiring Children Foundation (ICF) , co-founded with Ryan Wolfington and Marty Hennessy, has been empowering children struggling with financial hardship, anxiet,y depression, and suicidal ideation by giving them the ultimate environment to survive, then thrive at the highest levels. The award-winning program has been duplicated in 22 cities, and its home base is at Lorenzi Park in Las Vegas. With teenage suicide up 70% and anxiety and depression doubling (now even worse due to COVID), they have been at the forefront of helping to solve this epidemic.

The program arms at-risk youth with everything they need to be physically, emotionally, and mentally healthy in a fun and inspirational way, both online and in-person, at Lorenzi Park and Craig Ranch Park in North Las Vegas. This ecosystem of excellence includes programs that emphasize the need for: emotional intelligence, SEL, mindfulness/meditation, DBT, Trauma therapy/informed care, group counseling and mentoring, leadership development, entrepreneur skills, nutrition, yoga, recreational and high-performance tennis, sports, sleep science, and academics. Belluscious

is not only the greatest portmanteau of all time, it also happens to be the name of Gen Cleary’s world-renowned production company, which, much to our benefit, is now performing at Vigir n Ho tels’ Elia Beach Club. Gen Cleary founded Belluscious in Montreal, Canada (birthplace of Cirque Du Soleil) in 2003 with the goal of elevating the status of women in the entertainment industry. Her wildly creative costumes, brilliantly crafted choreography and mind-blowing theatrical content would help Belluscious burst onto the Montreal arts scene and allow Gen Cleary to expand her operation to the new mecca of dance music culture, Las Vegas. After working with notable clubs like Marquee and Hakkasan, Gen Cleary and Belluscious would garner worldwide attention from big names in the music and entertainment industry. The most significant of these big names is Michael Fuller. In 2008 the Vegas-based DJ, nightlife visionary, and nightclub executive – espo r nsible for bringing Vegas its first in ternational superstar DJ resident, Paul Oakenfold – would offer Gen Cleary the creative director job for Oakenfold’s Perfecto Nights at the Palms. Since then Belluscious has become the go-to company for Vegas residencies. For Gen Cleary, teaming up with Mike Fuller and his partners Mio Danilovic and Jason “JROC” Craig for a new artistic endeavor was a welcome opportunity.

I fell in love with the vision of Elia Beach Club and the idea of letting performers embody the music they are dancing to while connecting with the audience in an interactive and immersive way.

Belluscious’ Elia team consists of 8 performers: 6 dancers and 2 acrobats. When asked about the recruitment process, Gen Cleary expressed how hard it was to cut people from the audition. “Iwas t exemtr eldiy fficunar tol theowr group down to just eight, but I am very pleased with the team we have assembled. Lynn shares, “The mansion itself is super spacious and larger on the inside than it is on the outside, somehow! It is private and perfect for hosting hundreds of guests and can be utilized as an entertainment venue because it conveniently houses an elevator for extra accommodations and luggage transport. I love how one can enjoy nature and hear the birds chirping on the lawn, all while being a few minutes away from one of the most prominent streets in Los Angeles, which is a huge selling point that captures the heart of potential homeowners.”

Potential buyers often form lines around the blocks to view a house, and most properties don’t stay on the market for more than two weeks.

Lynn acknowledges an explosive trend of purchasing homes over the internet and sees it as a direct result of social media platforms and influencer colaborations, as many are working and browsing from home. With real estate photos, videos, and virtual tours being the initial eye-candy of attraction for potential interest, Lynn looks forward to expanding her online presence with upcoming projects and international alliances debuting in Dubai and Italy. Many acknowledge Amanda Lynn’s “it factor,” and when asked what it takes to be successful, sheepl r ied, “There are so many ways to define success. OF DR. TED DY SIM

There are countless reasons why someone might need to seek chiropractic care—

and at Dr. Teddy Sim’s Las Vegas-based practice, “ChiropracTED”, you will always be treated to an individualized, wellness-based approach to obtain optimal results through the art and science of comprehensive chiropractic care. Dr. Sim now oversees multiple ChiropracTED locations, a testament to the growing industry and his approach to personalized care.

“ChiropracTED’s mission is to provide exceptional service for all patients and inspire those who seek natural and holistic health care,” Dr. Sim says. Citing the chiropractic principle recognizing a healthy, aligned spine as enhancing the inborn healing potential of the body, he says he seeks as a practice to get patients their optimal lives back. To enjoy the life you’re meant to, he says, the practice’s foundation lays on providing focus-centered wellness. Dr. Sim says he was inspired to become a chiropractor after suffering from childhood Scoliosis. After his pediatrician suggested surgery, his parents sought out alternative options. He says he will never forget theelr iefhefeltafterfirstseeingachoprir act,or aviewthatwassolidifiedlaterinlfeafterjoingthe United States Air Force. After deployment in Iraq, heavy equipment caused a recurrence of back pain, aggravating his scoliosis. Averse to medication and wary of unknown chemicals others might seek for pain relief, Dr. Sim again found relief in chiropractic care in the military base where they were staying. The majority of both ChiropracTED locations (Summerlin and Henderson) patient base is personal injury (especially car accidents). Because of that, they offer a wide array of innovative chiropractic treatments for patients, including chiropractic spinal manipulative therapy and physiotherapy, the “ctivator Method” and diversified methods, state-of-the-art diagnostic tols, disc decompression machines, and spinal orthotics. “My profession gives me purpose,» he says. «Knowing patients come into my clinics in pain and leave withelr ief; [as well as] hearing patient estimonals from ureat t ment.” He contiues. “The ultimate thank you is: referrals by our patients who stand by us and trust us. MARIANNA NATURALS LAUNCHES BREAKTHROUGH COLLECTION OF

HAIR & SKIN OILS

Oils are one of many saught after skincare solutions out there. They’re

specially tailored to work with your natural oils to help keep your skin balanced. Our skin naturally makes oils and lipids, which help prevent water loss from our skin and keep it hydrated, which is key for elasticity, anti-aging, and that natural glow we all strive for. Because oils are lipophilic, they can penetrate deep into the skin, trapping water and other moisturizing goodness in, while keeping toxins and other bad stuff out (we love that.) The daily use of oils is proven to also help to fortify and strengthen our natural skin barrier.

“As the Chairwoman and CEO of two skincare companies I am often asked skincare questions, imagine that! The most frequent question I get is ‘should you be using oil on your skin?’ The answer is absolutely!” Heather Marianna shares. “People have been using luxurious oils for many centuries for hair,

skin, and nails. Recently we launched an entire line of skin-nourishing oils under the Marianna Naturals umbrella and needless to say our clients have been pleased.” One of her absolute favorite oils from the newly released collection is the Heather Marianna blend. Marianna personally created this magical blend for all skin types, and it is her go-to undereye hydration when she wakes up. A gentle, multi-use oil that hydrates and revitalizes all skin types, including sensitive and tired skin. Strong antioxidants, Vitamin E, and plant seed oils make this a luxurious and versatile body and hair oil. This is a bold collection of oils that can work as a facial hydration, body oil, cuticle conditioner, and even hair-smoothing. This is the holy grail of oils!

on commercial and residential interiors, Haus of Design prioritizes executing their clients vision for their space just as imagined.

Owner and founder, Nicole Perrault, mentions, “My job is to understand the client and work with them. We do any type of design style because it’s about them, it’s not about us.” The nearly four year expansion of the company, shows an upward trend of growth as the company started out with only one employee and has since grown to employ an additional twenty-one employees. Perrault expresses, I knew for my company that I wanted it to be team related. That’s why the company name is not my name. I don’t need it to be about me. I need it to be collaborative and about people as a whole so people will want to create their careers here. The two primary pillars that the company stands upon are the client’s vision being accurately communicated and installed as well as the collaborative nature among the team. Those two factors remain constant while the design options emr ain infinite. Thoughr out the process of commencing a project to the execution of

said project, Haus of Design maintains focus to ensure satisfaction of their clients and their employees. The first step to contracting Haus of Design for your interior design and staging needs is the consultation during which the purpose is to match the vision of the client and with the resources and processes of Haus of Design to bring the client’s vision to life. Once all has been agreed upon, the client can expect to receive the contract. Once signed, the designing process begins. A moodboard effectively represents the overall aesthetic of the project and materials are selected. AutoCAD® is then used to illustrate digitally models to convey how the actual space is intended to look at completion of the project. Just before the design plans are put into action, aldet l ailsarecolectedthein specification

books to be shared with both the client and the contractors. The last and arguably the most exciting portion then takes place, and Haus of Design and their contractors implement the installs. Although based in Costa Mesa, California, Haus of Design provides their service nationally. Their secondary markets are Nashville and Las Vegas. Notable commercial clients include O Sea Restaurant in Orange County, Boxhaus Fitness studios, and Moxi3 Fitness studios. Whether a home, ste, or corporate office, est r aurant, or fit ness studio, Haus of Design transforms all types of spaces. – By Danica Stockton To learn more, please visit: www.hodhausofdesign.com and @hausofdesign.hod on IG.

Meet Forever Home Realty led by rising real estate stars, Nick Devitte and Ryan Pineda. The two have joined forces to disrupt the local real estate scene through entrepreneurial prowess and top-notch real estate acumen. Their brand name is in a lot of ways prescient as the company’s key objective is to work hard and deliver its clients a dream home they’ll love for a lifetime. The validation comes in the production, wherein just three short years, the brokerage has assembled a best-in-class team of 150+ realtors who gross an unprecedented $150 million annually. Impressive stuff. Sowhateal r lysetsthiseal r estatecompanyapartfromthefield? Well, it starts at the top with its owners. Nick Devitte is a hometown hero who after graduating from UNLV with a Bachelor’s in Casino Management, made his name in the hospitality industry. In that space, he honed his customer service skills and established a epu r tation for excellence in fulfilling client expectations at local casino staples Wynn Resorts, the Cosmopolitan, and MGM. In 2017, he recognized the skillset he earned in his hospitality career could translate and unlock a massive opportunity for him in the always lucrative, Las Vegas real estate industry. Within just a few months in the game, Ryan took his already proven penchant for selling homes and building relationships, and took on the role of educator, managing a team, and inspiring each realtor to join him on his journey to the top. He’s been awarded YPN’s “Who’s Who Under 40”backback to years, acleareflect r ofin thebrokerage’sachievements with him at the helm where he continues to personally contribute and sell over 100 homes a year. Today, Ryan is motivated by returning the favor and giving back the knowledge that made him a real estate kingpin. He has a published Amazon bestseller entitled, Flip Your Future, he toutes an impressive social media following burgeoning on viral (100K Insta and YouTube followers, and 700K TikTok followership), and even works with clients on taxes. Most of his content is focused on showing agents, buyers, sellers, and investors how to hack the real estate market to generate as much income as possible: the same blueprint he followed to great success. The crux of his message is to look at real estate through an entrepreneurial lens, inspiring his students to think about tackling real estate as a business owner looking for good deals, no matter the cash you have upfront. However, eal r estate aficionado, Juan Rubio, assures that if done the right way, today’s market can be very advantageous for buyers, sellers, and investors alike. With such a shortage of inventory and high demand for homes, the options are limited and buyers have found themselves getting outbid or unable to findahomethatsuitstheirneeds.

Rubio advises buyers, “Work with a top agent and an agent you can trust. Someone that is experienced and will put you in the best possible position.”

Full approval from a lender or proof of funds can drastically strengthen buyers’ chances of closing on their ideal home as well. Having financials secued r prfin toir dingtherighhomet candecreasetheamofunt time available for other potential buyers to submit competing offers on that same property. Rubio explains,

This exclusive access allows their clients first pick befoer said properties are even visible to the general public, an advantage that is crucial for buyers during times when options are sparse. “The good thing about offmarket properties is that we can avoid bidding wars with other buyers. BREWS!

Former Journalists Open Barnhouse Napa Brews — By Stacey Gualandi

Let’s be honest, findingtheper fectcup of coffee that is luscious, local, and low-priced can be a grind, even in a popular culinary destination like Napa, California. But two veteran “newsies” who thrive on adrenaline— and caffeine — hope to change all that with the launch of Barnhouse Napa Brews, a new coffee pub in the heart of wine country. Friends and former FOX News journalists Eric Barnes and Adam Housley (“Barnhouse”) say their java joint is an American spin on a traditional English pub and offers quality coffee and tea by day; artisan beer and wine by night. Taking risks, like opening a new business, comes second nature for these enterprising entrepreneurs. They’ve covered everything from civil wars to tsunamis in nearly a dozen countries across the globe and shared a lot of coffee along the way. When they left news, Barnes went to work for Lindblad/National Geographic Expeditions as an award-winning photographer. Housley went back to his Napa roots with his wife, “Sister, Sister” actor and former “The Real” host Tamera Mowry-Housley, to run their family-owned Century Oak Winery and open Housley Napa Valley, a Five Star Rated wine tasting room. But it wasn’t until they reunited over margaritas last year at the wedding of FOX News anchor Rick Leventhal and “Real Housewives of Orange County’s” Kelly Dodd that their idea to go cahoots on a coffeehouse began to percolate. And it certainly didn’t hurt to have a shot of celebrity in the mix.

As one-third co-owner and resident taste tester, Mowry-Housley soon brought in a longtime friend to create a look for the brew pub, fellow actor and interior designer Alexis Fields (“The Secret World of Alex Mack”), whom she fir stmeton“Sister,Sister”. Now, one year later, Barnhouse is up and pouring in downtown Napa. With all this talk of reunions, I must fully disclose that Barnes and I worked together for years at Inside Edition, so it was a thrill to spill the tea about coffee, community, and why the team behind Barnhouse is the perfect blend. DELUXE VERSION MAGAZINE: So what is Barnhouse Napa Brews? ERIC BARNES: It will have kind of a “Cheers” vibe where everybody is going to know your name when you walk in. It’s got a great lounge area and a room to play darts and shuffleboard. Bar nhouse is somet hing t hat I t hink Napa is lacking. ADAM HOUSLEY: We felt there wasn’t what I call a “local.” When you go to England, Ireland, or anywhere in the UK, you have that local where you go early in the morning to get a pastry and really good coffee…then later in the day, you might go back and meet someone there and get a panini, another pastry and a pint. There’s really nothing like that in wine country, at least in the Napa Valley. TAMERA MOWRY-HOUSLEY: Eric has been a part of Adam and I’s life since we fir st st ar ted dating. When I found out that he was moving to Napa, I was so excited, and was definitelyexcitedw henhewantedto penupacoffeeshop. It’s because of Eric, honestly, that I was like, “Fine, all right, let’s do this!” DVM: Eric, did you always want to open a coffee shop? ERIC: Had there not been a pandemic, this would not have happened. I was married to the job at Nat Geo, but COVID shut down travel and I was bored. I was shooting a wedding, which I normally would say no to but I needed a few bucks, which took me to Sonoma and Adam happened to be at the wedding…and here we are. ALEXIS FIELDS: The thing that separated all of us is the thing that birthed the place that’s going to bring us all together, which is so amazing.

DVM: Alexis, you also designed the Housley Napa tasting room, but what inspired the look for Barnhouse? ALEXIS: Well, immediately with the name “Barnhouse,” we havetoplayont hebar nt heme.It ’sdefinitelygot heupbeat energy of dam wit h t he shuffleboard t able and t he dar t ro m, and t his laid- back chil vibe wit h fireplaces and sofas w hichismoreoft heEr icside.Soit ’sreallyareflection ft he guys who run it. DVM: So where does your coffee come from? ADAM: Everything here is going to be locally sourced. Bentley’s is our roaster and Barnhouse will be our main label. Like our wines, all of our coffee products will have a name and a story. They’re all local and affordable. They’re all small business. ERIC: We’ll be taking some pastries from the local bakeries, and we have an incredible donut maker who has some killer donuts. We have a local lady of British ancestry who makes the most amazing sausage rolls, pasties and paninis. They’re just brilliant. TAMERA: I’m huuuuungry!!! Ha!! But really, the coffee is fantastic. I double up sometimes with coffee — I call it my upper — and then when I want to just like chill out, I’ll have my glass of (Housley) wine. The perfect pairing. DVM: What sets Barnhouse apart? TAMERA: Inclusivity. That’s what’s so great about Housley Napa, and we’re carrying that over into our coffee shop. Everyone is welcome here. It’s about love, people and community. ADAM: We have a saying at the tasting room: “Friends and family always welcome.” We don’t care who you are. We don’t care where you come from. We don’t care what you identify with. As long as you’re kind, you’re welcome. ALEXIS: That’s the greatest part of this project, that it’s community-minded, and we’re making sure to really serving the people of Napa Valley. So that keeps us all in check I think, and it keeps us all with a positive attitude. DVM: This just might be the right coffee shop at the right time. So it looks like journalists and actors can work together nicely! ADAM: It depends on who you ask! ERIC: Nobody has killed each other yet. Haha! To shop online, go to: barnhousenapa.com

KYLE TATUM A FAMILIAR VOICE FOR ALL WHO SEEK FAIR REPRESENATION

The ability

to interpret law and speak the Spanish language is a powerful combination, and Kyle Tatum does bothfluen. tly After graduating from Las Vegas High School, Kyle decided to do volunteer work in Mexico. The experience would have a huge impact on Kyle and inspire him to later study abroad in Guanajuato, Mexico, during his third year of law school. Upon completion of a program specializing in the North American Free Trade Agreement, or NAFTA, and international criminal law, Kyle was accepted into a summer externship program with the Supreme Court of the State of Guanajuato. Once he had returned to Nevada and joined Ace Law Group in 2013, Kyle began to eagerly pursue cases involving personal injury and employment discrimination, the latter of which involved mistreatment of Spanish speaking individuals who struggled with English. “Sadly, a lot of employers - and even lawyers - will mistreat clients if there is a language barrier between them. I believe everyone should have the same access to justice, regardless of their background.” Ace Law Group prides itself on communication and familiarity. While many big firms eat tr clients as numbers, Kyle and company establish a personal relationship with every single person they represent.

“We never track cases by serial number. I know every one of my clients by name.” This approach to legal representation has allowed Kyle to amass a long list of successful cases and consistently offer top notch legal aid to the Las Vegas community for over eight years. He plans to do so for many more years to come.
