TOP NEVADA ROWING CLUB BEGINS SIXTH YEAR AT LAKE LAS VEGAS — By Brittany Barksdale
Did you know Lake Las Vegas is home to an award-winning rowing club for both youth and adults? The Lake Las Vegas Rowing Club, helmed by resident Jim Anderson, is gaining traction as one of the top rowing clubs in the state.
Since he founded the club in 2016, Anderson has shared his love for rowing with the Las Vegas community. “The best thing about rowing is there is no experience required. Everyone is welcome,” he said. “It’s the perfect opportunity to meet people and build lasting friendships.” Anderson said the club’s mission is to promote rowing and develop the athletes’ teamwork, communication and leadership skills. “Rowing is an incredible sport, but the lessons we teach that translate outside of the water are imperative,” Anderson said. “Yes, my job is to teach owing, r but building members’ self-confidence and helping them findasenseofpurposeiswhyIavesuchpassionforcoaching.”

Participation in the Lake Las Vegas Rowing Club is available for students in grades 8-11, as well as adults. University of Nevada, Las Vegas and Nevada State College students can also join their respective college teams. Club is celebrating the most wonderful time of the year with holiday events throughout December that every member of your family can enjoy. Sports Club members and Lake Las Vegas residents can join the excitement with cookie decorating celebrations, holiday photo sessions with custom-made backdrops, live caroling performances and happy hour holiday cocktail specials. Events will be hosted at the Sports Club during the firstee thr FridaysofDecember. On the last Friday of the month, members, residents and their guests are invited to raise a glass to 2022 as the Sports Club celebrates the incoming NewYearwhileoverlokingthelake,LasVegasStripandReflectionBay! Count down to the East Coast New Year at 9 p.m. while enjoying live music, a cash bar and party favors throughout the evening. “We are excited to bring together our Sports Club members and community residents for some fun this holiday season and to have the opportunity to enjoy each other’s company during this joyful time of year,” said Dann Battistone, general manager of the Lake Las Vegas Sports Club.
