he opening round of the 2014 Mtn. Dew ATV Motocross National Championship, sanctioned by AMA, takes place once again at Aonia Pass. The 1.5-mile track is a mix of mulch and that famous Georgia clay
that offers high speed and loads of traction. Ample and challenging features grace a track that can be viewed from bleachers, giving spectators a great look at the action. The course itself is high-speed, with large step-up and step-down jumps combined with tabletops and a solid whoops section to offer plenty of challenges. The weather can change this soil, so be prepared for anything from blue groove to sticky clay. A good start here is important, and passing can be tough. ince 1976, High Point Raceway in Mount Morris, Pennsylvania, has been a pivotal location in motocross history, having hosted a round of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship since
1977. The track’s elevation changes require power, so racers will have to bring all they have. The soil is solid and stable and will pack in tight if it’s dry, but be prepared, as the track can get rough and choppy. Tunnels allow spectators to access the infield for an up-close experience. There is big air to be found here if you have the skills to find it, and off-cambers can make things really interesting. The track runs into a valley that allows for good viewing from just
