LETTER FROM THE LTG Hey, Division 56! I’d like to congratulate and thank you all for all of your hard work in finishing off DCON registration! The process was long and tedious, but you all did a wonderful job of submitting payment and forms in a timely manner. We will have 37 people representing us at DCON, almost 3 times as many as last year, and the most our Division has ever had! I am extremely thankful and humbled by your guys’ excitement and willingness to get involved. This checks another goal off my list, and is a great achievement. But remember: I didn’t achieve this. YOU did. It is truly an honor to serve such an amazing Division. A few things- Spring Semester can be extremely difficult to manage, so make sure you’re staying healthy and not pushing yourself too hard. Think of DCON as the light at the end of the tunnel! Make sure to stay strong in attending club meetings and going to events; service should always be a priority. If you find yourself in any tough situations with juggling activities or staying motivated, PLEASE don’t hesitate to contact me at any point! I am willing and excited to communicate with you all and help you guys out. I’m always here for you. I hope you all have fun at Pre-Con and are excited for DCON! Can’t wait to see you all! In love and service, DMITRI SABERI LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR OF DIVISION 56 LTG56@PNWKEYCLUB.ORG (509) 715-7475

PCM MINUTES Presidential Council Meetings are some of the most important aspects of Divisional growth. These monthly phone calls allow Presidents to communicate with their LTG, share ideas, and stay connected on upcoming events and District updates. This year, we’ve built our communication up from the ground, and PCMs have been the foundation for that growth. Meetings provide an element of ”face to face” contact that group chats, social media, and email lack. Topics discussed during the meetings are usually brief club updates, District updates, upcoming events, Divisional developments, etc. I’ve compiled the minutes that I’ve taken at every PCM this year, and put them all in a single Google Drive. You can check them out if you’re interested in what’s going on “behind the scenes” in our Division, or are just curious what your Presidents are like late at night. YEARLY PLAN At the DCM on February 11, I will be presenting a Yearly plan I have created for our Division. This plan will tabulate precisely what we accomplished this year, things that remain unaccomplished, and directions we should take in different categories. This will help future Lieutenant Governors decide how to approach the year, and will guide them in figuring out which goals are worth pursuing, and which are probably not worth it. As such, this will serve as a guide for our Division for the future. I welcome any input on this as well, so anytime in between when I present it at the DCM and DCON would be absolutely fine to shoot me a text, email, or message regarding suggestions. Please refer to it as a guide to see what is to come for our Division, as it is very helpful to see where we’re headed! I will be distributing hard copies at the DCM, and posting soft copies on the Divisional Facebook page.

PULLMAN UPDATE The Pullman High School Key Club enjoyed an exciting January, with the club finalizing their DCON preparation. This year, the club recorded an extraordinary 32 sign-ups for the District Convention, nearly tripling the convention attendance of the previous year. Apart from this incredible news which deserves much hype, the club also held its annual officer elections! Andy He, Heema Koirala, Symanthika Bose, Briana Zhao, and Chris Park were all elected to succeed the officer board after DCON. The club is preparing for a great finish to the service year with a possible collaboration event with the local CKI, and their annual blood drive.

Hope to see everyone at our next DCM! -Shyam V

MOSCOW UPDATE We're doing really well! The Highlighter dance was about a month ago and we made just under $400! It was a huge success! Also, we're really excited to send four of our members to DCON this spring! We are currently working on starting a builders club at Moscow Middle School. It'll cost some money to do that, though, so we're in the process of brainstorming some fundraising ideas for that! Also, coming up in May is the Kiwanis fishing clinic, which is a yearly event that Moscow's Kiwanis club puts on and partners with our key club for a free day of fishing for kids. All in all everything is going really well! We're excited for DCON and starting a Builders Club will hopefully be a great way to end the year! -Katie Landreth, Moscow President

OROFINO UPDATE Orofino Key Club has been relatively inactive lately due to the dreadful winter, but we are starting to kick back up again for the later season. In January, we completed all DCON 2017 registration for the three member who wanted to go. Recently, in order to raise money for KCCP, we started selling Valentine's Day Candy Grams so students can pay for a message along with some candy to be delivered to whoever in the school they wished. We will soon be holding the 2017-2018 Orofino Key Club Officer Elections on February 20 to coincide with our Lieutenant Governor visit. We are also planning a movie night for February 28 (?). -Keelan Chen, Orofino Vice President
