1. What skills have you developed through this module and how effectively do you think you have applied them? I have developed a much broader understanding of print processes and techniques used in industry, it has made me significantly more aware of how I would go about producing and setting up work in terms of colour, print marks and file formats. This knowledge of colour theory for print alongside the enterprise module has started to add a constant thought process towards costing. InDesign has become more of an ally to my design work this year, furthering our software workshops and in turn my skills and confidence with the software. Previously I would find myself setting up and laying out documents in illustrator due to familiarity, this module I始ve embraced the possibilities and perks of using software more professionally. Hand rendering skills. Although not a new skill I始ve developed, the logo development we underwent really pushed my drawing skills, it sparked me off on a tangent of drawings in my free time in order to keep developing and tightening my raw pen and paper skills.

2. What approaches to/methods of design production have you developed and how have they informed your design development process? The logo development process not only developed my hand rendering skills but definitely had an influence on the way I visually explore design, particularly for branding and identity purposes. The use of colour in my design production has had an effect on the development of my design, thinking about the way colour is set up for print in terms of costing and process. This has stemmed into the use of all the creative suite software when setting up for print production.

3. What strengths can you identify in your work and how have/will you capitalise on these? Developing on ideas as a result of thumbnail designs and mock-ups. I often used to think of an idea and roll with it indefinitely, this module however I have felt myself developing and ideas evolving as I think about them and visually experiment (nowhere near the level I feel I should be but definitely a development on last year). A strong visual identity running through my design, with regards to the Good is..? brief, given the two main elements of my product for this module I feel I have locked in to a good visual theme that could work in a

4. What weaknesses can you identify in your work and how will you address these in the future? A considerable level of indecisiveness, an area we were strongly advised to brush up on nearing the end of last year but something I seem to have embedded in me. I feel having a longer time for the brief, less pressure is there to rapidly develop ideas and concepts. Graphic design is a very fast paced profession and I enjoy having to make spur of the moment decisions knowing the deadline is near, I just need to be able to recognise where and when. A lack of in depth experimentation and consideration when it came down to producing my final deliverables. I didnʼt experiment with stock and process as much as I wanted to, this was partially through lack of commitment and time management throughout the module. I find it hard to research without an idea of what I am producing, through the initial stages of this module I was unsure of my concept or content and couldnʼt specify what and why I should be researching, this was because of my own indecisiveness and not committing to an idea. Research becomes so beneficial and I always feel myself having to cram it in whilst in the design process which hinders my design and leaves me with inadequate knowledge of my subject. 5. Identify five things that you will do differently next time and what do you expect to gain from doing these? Nearing the end of this module I started to stay in uni a lot longer, although it was partly out of necessity I found myself really enjoying getting things accomplished and going home feeling Iʼve spent the day as productively as I could of. Iʼm definitely going to take this mentality forward onto the next module as to not let work pile up, and more importantly develop work to my personal potential. Again and again I find myself not being satisfied with the amount of visual variation throughout the design process of my work. Next module I intend to commit more of my time to develop a much wider range of ideas, this will undoubtedly improve the concepts and level of consideration throughout my design process. Alongside improving my design, if I truly explore all of my ideas and develop them accordingly, I will be inclined to become passionate about the design and it will feed in naturally. Throughout the next module, I would like to experiment further with the software that is relevant to my current design process. Experiment with other little projects and aspects of the software in an effort to become much more affiliated with the process and possibilities available to me. Time management is an on going factor that will always need my attention, the length of this last module has allowed me to let myself slip in terms of motivation and progress. I should be setting myself mini deadlines and working prolifically towards them, the end of this module proved that it is enjoyable and much more beneficial to my work and my ethos towards the course. Allocating myself more time in college is definitely at the top of my priorities for the next module. I still want to explore a broader range of print methods and processes, although it may not be relevant for the next module I have a lot more to learn and feed into my design process. Particularly setting documents up exactly how they should be for different areas of print. 6.How would you grade yourself on the following areas: (please indicate using an ʻxʼ) 5= excellent, 4 = very good, 3 = good, 2 = average, 1 = poor 1
