Dearest Beauty Consultants, I love December. It is for me the best month of the year. This is the month that we get to look back at the last 11 months and track and see what we have achieved. What we have not. Who we have loved, who we have hurt. It is the time when we get a chance to do things even better for the new year will give us that opportunity. It will allow us to set new goals, make new wishes, set relationships right and make new action plans. It is a time of renewing. As I look back my year, my heart is filled with gratitude. I am grateful that I have health. I am grateful that I have a great Sales Force and Management team in the Philippines and in Asia Pacific. I am grateful for all the good things that happen and all the things that did not. I have learned that only when you have a grateful heart then can you have a happy heart. In this season of giving and happiness, let us all learn to be grateful. To our family, to our unit members, to our customers to our society and to our country. May December be a time of renewing. Renewing of goals, of wishes, of hope and of plan. What is 2013 going to be? My best wishes to you. Have a very Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year.

It was not a surprise but instead a celebration for everyone when Independent Senior Sales Director Armando ‘Junard’ Abinsay, Jr. was named Seminar 2012 Annual Go-Give® Winner. Indeed, he deserved to receive the recognition since he was also proclaimed the Seminar 2012 Quarter 1, 2 and 3 Go-Give® Winner.
Independent Executive Senior Sales Director Virginia “Ghie” Hubahib never expected to receive a Go-Give® Award from her peers. In fact, many Beauty Consultants and Sales Directors who attended the 2012 Philippine Seminar could still vividly attest how she bursted into tears on stage when her name was called as the Quarter 4 Go-Give® Award Winner.
“I would like to share this award with everyone in Mary Kay because I believe that every Mary Kay Beauty Consultant carries a Go-Give® spirit heart,” Armando declares. Armando would like to thank all his mentors at Mary Kay in inculcating the true meaning of the Go-Give® Spirit. According to him, the Go-Give® spirit is a selfless act. “It is about helping others succeed in business and in life,” he defines. Armando believes that helping fellow Sales Directors and Beauty Consultants can be done either in simple or in grand ways – from sharing tips to a new consultant on applying the right makeup to helping out unit members become leaders in their respective Mary Kay businesses. In fact, Armando would gladly take some of his time going to different places (as far as Davao) to provide color class sessions to new Consultants or assist fellow Sales Directors in Guest Events, Kit Support, Sampling Activities and Market Blitzes. And for him, the feeling that he gets from these experiences is truly priceless and rewarding.
"I've been with other companies. It's only in Mary Kay where you experience great bonding with your fellow members. You grow individually, but you also see that every one has the opportunity to improve," he stresses. True enough, Armando knows that the Go-Give® spirit paves way to sharing one’s time and effort and passing on one’s knowledge and skills to others regardless the unit, area, age and location that Beauty Consultant or Sales Director belongs to.
“I would like to thank all my Sales Directors, my unit members and to other Beauty Consultants for allowing me to touch and enrich your lives,” Armando relates. Indeed, “Mary Kay can really change lives.”
As Mary Kay Ash said, “The Go-Give® Award is perhaps the greatest honor a Mary Kay Independent Sales Director can earn. Those who possess the Go-Give spirit are the heart of this Company and our shining hope for the future.”
“I didn’t expect it, but it is an honor for me to receive this award,” Ghie remarks. She is very thankful to the Lord for this recognition and considers it as an affirmation that she is doing something great and right not only in her Mary Kay business but also in her life. “It’s an acknowledgement where God wants me to be!” she utters. According to Ghie, her journey in this beautiful career is a very humbling experience. She recalls the first time how she fell in love with the products and how she started sharing the Mary Kay opportunity with women out there. “But through the years, I have learned that you give good service to people without expecting anything in return,” she quips. For her, that kind of thinking sets Mary Kay apart from other companies.
“It’s the culture of Mary Kay that inspires me to strive as a better human,” Ghie relates. “Through Mary Kay’s priorities of God first, family second and career third, you learn to commit, give and do what is right and good.” And Ghie is happy that her fellow Mary Kay sisters recognize and see it. Lastly, Ghie would like to thank all the mentors who provided the wisdom and guidance in her Mary Kay journey. “They will always be in my heart. To pay the kindness that they have shown to me, I will make sure to pass on to others what I’ve learned from them.”
