Motorcycles welcome!
Editorz Notez It is HOT, HOT, HOT...and I guess it is that time of year! But coupled with the humidity (Southerners know what I am talkin’ about) it is tough! As soon as you walk out the door you immediately become drenched! It is like being dowsed with hot
Happy Halloween sauce, tossed in a ziplock bag, and plopped in a microwave with the setting on HIGH for two-three minutes! That is just standing there in place and not moving...at all! As I write this early in the AM...the humidity is at 93%. It is not even cool while riding your motorcycle in those conditions. Feels like sitting in front of a furnace with the door open and somebody stokin’ the fire with your face! HOT I tell ya! All joking aside, it is never “too hot” to ride! The diehards will tell ya that! The Motor Maids just held convention out in Cali... in July and they rode! Some of them rode their bikes from the East Coast to the West Coast and back again! Many of them in their 60’s, 70’s and 80’s...so, I guess we shouldn’t whine about a little heat. Soon, it will be too cold! Thanks to all of our readers for keeping the suggestions coming in, as well as, the stories, photos, poems, etc. Of course, none of this would be possible without our advertisers. We could not do Behind Barz without you! It takes a village, as they say. Without our biker family, readers and advertisers, we wouldn’t be. So, “Thank you!” God Bless each one of you! See you out on the road Behind Barz!

SO YOUR SOLDIER IS BEING DEPLOYED OVERSEAS…
Be aware, that very few families have to travel outside the U.S. even when their child is wounded; it is only the rarest of circumstances in which you might need it. Be prepared!
10 “TO DO’s”: 1. I LOVE YOU Take nothing for granted. So you think your child knows you love them? Tell them anyway and every chance you get before they leave. 2. PAPERWORK Get multiple copies of their power of attorney (POA). Make sure it covers the types of transactions you’ve agreed to be responsible for – banking, insurance, property transactions. Make sure you either have or know where all the rest of his/her papers are (car title? lease? will? etc.)
Photo above: Our veterans still serving! Photo above, below, and left: Some of our wonderful volunteers!
3. ORDERS Get a copy of their deployment orders as some vendors require these to discontinue service without a penalty (cell phone companies, cancelling a lease). Be sure to remove ALL of the social security numbers from the copy you send to anyone. 4. HANG ON! Deployment is one big roller coaster ride. They’re leaving. They’re delayed. They’re leaving. They call. They don’t call. They’re overseas. They’re leaving for the AO... (area of operations). They arrived. They get internet. The internet connection is down. They’re going out on mission. They’re back. They’re getting R&R. It looks like 6 more months. UpDownUpDown. They have an important job to do, your job is to hang on and look forward to their return. 5. PASSPORT If you don’t already have one, get a passport. We will all pray you will never need it, but it can save you in travel time if you ever happen to need it.
6. COMMUNICATION Send mail. Get their friends and family to send mail (do not publicly post their whereabouts). Send postcards. Send greeting cards. Send pictures. They might not respond as frequently as you write (or as often as you’d like) – but don’t let that stop you. And remember, if there are breaks in communications (no email, texts, or instant messages) repeat after me: NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS. 7. MAIL Send STUFF. Send packages. Send books, comic books, magazines, their favorite things. Ask what they need, but even when they say they don’t need anything, send something. Send happy stuff — you know whatever makes them laugh or feel good. Be sure to learn the overseas mailing r ules – no porn, no pork, no alcohol etc. Don’t worry about sending too much – unfortunately, there are soldiers who rarely get any mail and your soldier will share. Go to your local Post Office and ask for FLAT RATE BOXES and CUSTOMS FORMS. You can also get FREE boxes online to be delivered by your mailman at https://store. usps.com/…/sh…/military-care-kit-P_MILITARYKIT Get to know your postal clerks — they are a wealth of information! Pick out some family photos that will make your soldier happy; a piece of home… and why he/she serves. If you order things to be sent to your soldier, DO NOT HAVE THEM SENT TO THE SOLDIER. You will have no way of knowing whether they were ever received. We learned to have things shipped to us and then we re-packaged it in the flat rate boxes.
Please email or call us for more info. Thank you very much for your continued support!

nc packs4 patriots Support our local heroes 8. BE PROUD Support their efforts. No matter what you read elsewhere or what your feelings are, it isn’t about you. They need to hear that you appreciate their sacrifice. If you can’t say something nice, say nothing. 9. NO PUSHING If they’re not telling you, don’t ask. There are some things your soldier can’t talk about. There are things your soldier doesn’t want to talk about. Try not to add to their stress. If a conversation seems to upset them – get off the subject, change it or agree with them. They have plenty on their minds and they shouldn’t have to worry about you. Make them want to communicate with you. 10. CONNECT Join support groups. You will need a hand to hold and shoulder to cry on when you’re down in their absence. The Family Readiness Group (FRG) is a command-sponsored organization of family members, volunteers, and soldiers associated with a particular unit. If at all possible, get on their list or follow them online. Please keep yourself busy with other things. Once they deploy, the same old feelings creep up from those 10 weeks of basic training. Remember how hard that was? The difficulty of keeping track of your soldier and trying to communicate with him/her will consume a lot of your non-working (and in some cases working) time. You will think about them night and day. All perfectly normal, but they want you to have a life. As my son said, “That’s why we’re here – so you can live normally there.”
Our mission is dependent on both items for packages and financial support for postage. We invite and welcome your support. Our troops are still deploying, still serving and still sacrificing for our country. We honor that service and sacrifice. Photo above, right and below: Soldiers always enjoy receiving goodies!
Will you join our team to make sure we can continue our mission of support to show our deployed troops that Americans still appreciates their service and sacrifice? Please don’t ever think that you can’t make a donation because your effort is too small. We appreciate every single dollar. Troop Signup for Care Packages
Photo below: Idea for Bike clubs, riding groups, or youth groups: make Sunshine Bags for our troops! These are sandwich bags filled with “yellow” items such as Cheese crackers, lemon candies ( Airheads, Lemon Drops, banana taffy , etc), juicy fruit gum, gummy fruit snacks, powdered lemonade packets to add to bottled water (individual packstake out of box). Can also add lip balm, and travel size sunscreen. Add small cards with artwork or stickers on the theme of sunshine!
More tips from Barbara D. Whitehead (member): Get an inventory of their property, including serial numbers, model, date purchased, etc of any electronics and expensive items. Where is it stored? Is there a payment plan if in private storage? Is there insurance? What does that cover? What is the plan for auto storage? Get a list of bank accounts, bills and how they are paid. Understand your POA. Talk about finances. Photos right: Big thank you to these volunteers from OpenDoor Church, Leading by Example group. They brought donations, made cards and packed 305 goody bags!

We appreciate the service of the members of our country’s military as they deploy to serve missions in difficult and dangerous environments. Our care packages show the care and support of a grateful nation. They contain snacks, toiletries, and recreation items. Troops are welcome to ask for specific items that they may be missing or needing. Special requests often are items like coffee, certain snacks, socks, favorite magazines and books. We send packages that are large enough for several members of a troop to share. Chaplains are a good point of contact for our organization so they can distribute items in chapel, recreation items, or along their visits to outlying areas. Troops who are deployed and have a confirmed address are welcome to request care packages! Send name, address, and stop mail date to us by email to ncp4p@yahoo.com - information is only used for mailing labels and kept secure. You can also ask for special requests or needs and we will try to fill those. We ask that you let us know when packages arrive.

We Say Good Bye Jasper Lee “Jack” Pridgen Jasper Lee “Jack” Pridgen, 94, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 29, 2019. He was born February 4, 1925 in Nash County to the late Ben and Pearl Pridgen. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Christal Wells Pridgen. He was the oldest of eleven children and proudly served in the US Navy 1945-1946. Jack owned and operated Jacks Grocery on Hwy 97 for 50 years and was a charter member of West Mount Fire Department. I first met Jack years ago after visiting his country store. But I got to know Jack when I lived off of Bend of the River...just up the road from the store. I probably stopped in every day for gas or a Sun Drop. He told me he had never been on a motorcycle before. I tried many times to get him to go for a ride on my motorcycle but he always laughed and refused. One winter, on his way into the store, he slid into the ditch after we had some freezing rain. A couple of guys on 4 wheelers picked him up and dropped him off at the store.
Jack’s Groc. located on the corner of Hwy 97 and Old Halifax Rd. in Roky Mount, N.C. Left: Jack with his wife, Christal Wells Pridgen. Below: Circ. 1945
After that I was relentless trying to get him to go for a ride on my (two wheel bike at the time). I told him, you rode a 4 wheeler, you can certainly ride a motorcycle. One day he finally gave in. That particular day there were some guys sitting on drink crates chewing the fat as I teased him about being scared. He said, “Let’s go!” He jumped on the rear fender (I had a solo seat), threw on a beanie helmet, kicked out the pegs and was ready to go! He was in his eighties then! In all those years I’ve known him I have never heard a bad word spoken about Jack Pridgen! He was truly one of a kind and made quite the impression on many folks because I have had several people contact me through email, Facebook, and snail mail wanting me to make sure that I include a memorial to him in Behind Barz Mag. Rocky Mount will never be the same. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters, Jackie Batchelor (Ronnie Jones) and Jenny Hopkins(Steve); grandchildren Spencer Batchelor (Michelle), Amy Batts (Jeff), Stephanie Stroud (Kevin) and Lee Hopkins (Hannah); great granchildren, Jenna and Ryan Batchelor, Justin and Dillon Batts, Cameron Braswell (Stephanie), Mary Kathryn, Lucy and Earl Stroud, Eden and Eliza Hopkins; great great grandson, Elliott; “Lady Friend” Jackie Bailey; numerous nieces and nephews. A special thank you to caregivers, Amy Batchelor and Jackie Bailey.

South Hill, VA. Sheeew what a weekend! We were expecting about 50 vehicles and had over 120 to register for the show and that doesn’t include the vehicles that were not being judged. We had to make some on the fly adjustments and thanks to our awesome volunteers we were able to pull off a great event for our community. Thank you so much to the car community for coming out and supporting our Hot Time In The Summertime event this weekend. We were just overwhelmed with your kind words and support. We have made some notes from your suggestions for next year and we are already planning the event! A huge thank you goes out to Anthony Kent Writtenberry with Kentz Kustomz Cycles and Chris Ellis with Ellis Signs & Custom Painting for all of their help in this event. Without the support from all of our Hi Octane sponsors, Risin’ Smoke Barbecue, Napa - Southside Auto Parts, Tatum Paint and Body Shop, South Hill Tire & Service Center and Justin Smith with the Quick Fuel Stations we could have never had such a successful event. Congratulations to all our our winners. I am so glad that I didn’t have to judge of those beautiful cars and trucks. Thank you to our volunteer judges that came from all across the state of Virginia handle that for us. Best in show bike; Hard Rock @ SDI by Mr. Stanley Brandon of South Boston, VA. 3rd Annual
South Central
story & photos: Jill Duncan
Third Annual - RAINY! Chase City, VA. The third annual South Central Bike Fest held June 6, 7, & 8, 2019 at the Chase City Fire Department Training Grounds turned out to be a rather wet affair. Despite the weather (4 ½” rain on Friday and 2” on Saturday), the event went forward thanks to some very loyal and resilient vendors, volunteers, and participants. This event is held each year to raise funds for two local cancer support foundations – the Barksdale Cancer Foundation in Charlotte County VA and the Mecklenburg County Cancer Association. They support local cancer victims and their families by giving monetary help to help cover costs associated with cancer treatment – things that insurance does not cover such as meals out, travel expense, copays & deductibles, etc. The event started off strong on Thursday with campers arriving and getting set up for the weekend. Chase City Chamber of Commerce hosted a BBQ Plate Dinner with free admission. It was a wonderful family friendly kick-off. Due to the threatening weather forecast, the scheduled Cruise In didn’t happen, but DJ Soundouse did a great job DJ’ing and providing music for everyone in attendance. Friday brought a LOT of rain along with more campers, and quite a few resilient vendors and attendees. The historic bike ride was cancelled, but the event rallied on with raffles, food and drink, entertainment and music from DJ Soundhouse. The evening was topped off with a performance by the 10 Sinful Years Band.

Bike Fest
The Saturday Poker Run and Bike Rodeo were rained out, but brave bikers came out for the Bike Show and the Audio/Sound Show. A little rain didn’t prevent Raffle Drawings, an on-grounds Poker Run, Bikini Bike Wash, Vendors, and social time from happening. The turn out was very respectable all things considered, and everyone who came enjoyed themselves despite being a tad damp. Music was provided throughout by DJ Soundhouse and the Tobacco Road Band. The Moonshine Sons Band took the stage later in the evening, and there was fun and dancing to close down the 3rd Annual South Central Bike Fest. This event happens rain or shine, and without the support of so many sponsors, vendors, volunteers and folks who care about this cause, it would have been a complete washout. Had the weather cooperated we’re sure it would have been our biggest year yet. The planning committee welcomes anyone who’s interested in helping next year to reach out by emailing info@scbfest.org. A sincere and heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who lent their support. You all make a difference!

Enjoying the great food... Doobie
Some of our favorite eateries!
These are some of our favorite restaurant eats... and some of our favorite foods from those places. The Behind Barz Crew has been all over tasting some of the South’s best foods! Ribeyes Steakhouse Nashville, N.C. We visited Ribeyes Steakhouse recently. We just love the location...it is located just off of Hwy 64 in Nashville between Rocky Mount and Raleigh. Their steaks are mid-western grain fed beef by Omaha Steaks in Omaha, Nebraska. All their ribeye steaks are cut from Angus cattle. All steaks are served with an endless salad bar.

Wilson with his dad, Jeff Ellis.
Owner, Jeff Ellis, and his son, Wilson, strive to give their customers the very best experience and food possible! Many times one of the two of them are doing the cooking. They serve several seafood items, as well as, chicken breast and pork chops. They also have a smaller portion menu for kids or those eating lite. Everyone is so friendly at Ribeyes! Our server for the evening was Thomas. He was very attentive and made sure everything was just the way we wanted it and kept our glasses full. I had the Surf & Turf...petite Ribeye steak and skewer of grilled shrimp. It was served with their house made signature cocktail sauce and came with a baked potato, texas toast and the endless salad bar! My steak was cooked just like I asked and was very tender. The shrimp were grilled to perfection. The meal was very enjoyable Stop by for an unforgettable meal or great drinks in the bar or both! LOST BROTHERS RIDE
story & photos: BettyBaker Williams
SNOW HILL, NC 3 August 2019
On Saturday Tuscarora MC had their Lost Brothers ride. We visited the grave site of Duane Pitt “Ten Bears” and Steven Harris “Bigun” and returned to the clubhouse to toast them, and many other brothers, who were TMC members that have passed away. There were great memories shared and lots of smiles while remembering all the fun times. Ten Bears was surely smiling down on everyone that day.. I’m pretty sure he was right there behind that bar where he loved to be lol... He cherished his friends and the loyalty and Brotherhood that came with the life he lived.

Slayer WENDELL, NC Once again, Slayerfest was an amazing event for all those that attended. This years weather did not cooperate well on Friday night and the rain sure did come down. That being said, everyone that did attend Friday made the best of it and still had a great time, throwing the towel in for the evening was not an option. The rain slowed and left eventually, giving everyone the opportunity to listen to some acoustical music and conversing with old and new friends alike. The vendors joined in the discussions with the crowd and stuck it out knowing that the weather was about to change and be there for their customers. Saturday was an absolutely, amazing day! The weather was beautiful, and the day went on better than planned. The crowd built throughout the day and it seemed that everyone was as ready as could be. Freedom Biker Church began serving chicken plates just before the music was ready to begin. The Monika Jaymes Band began the days entertainment and rocked the house. They had the crowd out dancing and singing along with them. Midday, it was time for Shoot to Thrill. This is an All-Female, AC/DC tribute band that the actual band should be proud of. These ladies have so much fun on stage and even brought a few kids onstage with them help with a song or two. Last band of the day closing out the evening was Driver and once again, they did not disappoint. The dancing and singing continued as they entertained the crowd with straight up rock music.

rfest '19 Between the bands performing there always seemed to be something going on. There were bike games to watch or participate in, people games and door prizes to be given away. The vendors had merchandise for everyone to view and purchase, staying busy. Food and drinks we always available to purchase as well once the chicken plates were all given away earlier in the afternoon. We would like to thank everyone that attended this year and help raise funds for the charities that we support. Women’s Freedom Rally 2019 Presenteded by Women’s Freedom Ride TOPEKA, KANSAS As I awakened on the day of departure I could hear the rain pitter pattering on the tin roof. I didn’t even want to think about starting a 1200 mile road trip in the rain. So I started the coffee maker and jumped in the shower. Sometimes you just have to make the run, regardless of how you feel and the Women’s Freedom Rally of 2019 was one of those runs. After all, there was a world record to break! As I strapped on the last bag, the rain stopped and the had fog began to lift. It looked like we just might see the sun after all. I had totally forgotten about the midwestern flooding until I came upon my first detour. The back roads across Missouri and Kansas can be as daunting as they can be beautiful. The detours still had water on the roads but following the big truck in front of me was like wading through the parted seas that Moses led the people through in the Exodus. Looking down at the little light that indicated I needed fuel brought on that “oh crap” feeling since my trip plan had been altered with all those orange detour signs. I was reminded that God never fails! Just as “Lo Range” came on my odometer I saw the fluorescent green on a tall sign in the distance. Whew!! That was was close!! So many historical markers along the route made me wish I had started a day early but then I wouldn’t have had the beautiful blue skies drawing me into the countryside. The Trail of Tears, Oregon Trail, Lincoln Trail, Heritage Highways, all whispering to my heart as I stopped to photograph as many as I could. Upon arrival I was taken back as I expected to see a wave of shining motorcycles greet me in the parking lot. Surely women would know that this event was important! Not only to represent women riders in the industry but the proceeds were benefiting veterans! Slowly they came and before the sun set on the horizon there would be two lots sparkling from all that chrome. Old, young, two wheels, three, mothers, daughters, all makes and models made the trek to attend this powerful event.

Story & photos by: Ramblin Rose Walking the corridors there was laughter, hugs, and squeals of joy as women united for the cause. Old friends from across the nation hugging and making new friends as experiences were shared. My heart was full!! Having been in the saddle over 40 years I have longed to see the streets filled with more females on the front seat. These women are changing the world!! It’s a powerful thing and there’s no explanation that could truly describe how I felt in that moment. Just when you think it can’t get any better the time comes to line up at the track. They were coming from all corners of the country. The roar from twin engines filled the air and they just kept coming!! For hours!! The plan to line up side by side had to be expanded to four across as the 762 women in control of their own motorcycles entered the track!! The gap between the pace vehicle and last bike left only a few feet as we circled the track. What a humbling experience to be surrounded by so many wonderful women. Again my heart swelled with joy. The ride home seemed to pass by quickly as I recalled names and faces of new friends and laughter echoed in my mind. To be a part of something much bigger than my little world, not just the setting a new USA record, but watching as each one encouraged another, loved on one another by traded ideas, sharing life experiences, mentoring the less experienced; that’s how I wish the world would always behave. Lifting one another up and helping each other to be the best that they can be. I am honored to have been a part of this run and thoroughly enjoy taking the roads less traveled.

Fourteen Riders Win Championships at 2019 AMA Flat Track Grand Championship PICKERINGTON, Ohio -- The American Motorcyclist Association congratulates the 14 riders who won class titles at the 2019 AMA Flat Track Grand Championship. The annual four-day national championship event features the best amateur racers in the nation vying for AMA No. 1 plates while competing in three formats of flat track racing. The event took place at the Ashland County Fairgrounds in Ashland, Ohio, on July 23 and at the Triangle Motorcycle Club in Harpster, Ohio, on July 24-26. “Winning a class title at the AMA Flat Track Grand Championship is no easy feat,” AMA Track Racing Manager Ken Saillant said. “Riders must have the endurance to compete in four days of intense competition and the versatility to perform well in short track, half mile and TT racing. These 14 riders are deserving champions, and we look forward to honoring them at the 2019 AMA Championship Banquet.” Five of the 14 riders won multiple class titles, including 16-year-old Trevor Brunner. The Aurora, Ind., resident was the championship’s top performer, winning four class championships. The other riders who captured multiple AMA No. 1 plates were Colton Shafer of Fresno, Calif., Chase Saathoff of Hillsboro, Ill., Travis Horn of La Verne, Calif., and Riley Nauta of Worongary, Queensland, Australia, each taking two titles. The 2019 AMA Flat Track Grand Championship featured more than 800 entries competing in 21 classes. Class champions will be honored as part of the AMA’s Legends & Champions Weekend, which is scheduled to take place in Columbus, Ohio, on Dec. 6-7.

from the
mind of big ed I grew up hearing it my whole life. Sometimes I guess I made it true. I made huge mistakes with my life. I can’t go back and fix it. I had to learn from it. Like riding a motorcycle. You learn to ride but sometimes you learn to slide. It’s painful, but you only got one way to go after you hit the ground. . . Up.
Big Ed aka 2Timer
Hello People! Believe it or not, I’m an a$$hole. I come from a long line of a$$holes. So, truthfully, I got it honest. My dad was an a$$hole to somebody. His dad was an A$$hole to someone else, I’m sure. My brother is an a$$hole and I am almost certain my sons will be a$$holes to individuals in the future. But what and who makes an A$$hole be who they are? It could be a long history of people being a$$holes to them and myself, included. We are who we are by the experiences in our life. Some people grow up to be fine individuals and it’s probably because they were surrounded by fine individuals their whole life. But not all people that become a$$holes are bad. Some are also fine individuals who had to deal with people’s crap their whole life and it inspired them to do great things. When I was coming up I was the punk kid from the back of the trailer park. I was, “trouble,” some of my friend’s mothers would say. To their dad’s I was a loser. Some teachers called me, “The boy who will grow up and end up in jail, eventually.” I even heard that a friend’s dad said...and trust me I can still hear this one in my head... “the youngin is so sorry that even his own daddy doesn’t even want anything to do with him!”
For along time I carried those hurtful words around inside my head. I was never going to be anything but trouble. I was never going to be worth anything to anybody. I sometimes just wanted to end my life, but I over heard my Step-Dad say, there’s no respect giving to someone who takes their own life because there’s always another day to try harder. So this punk kid from the back of the trailer park who never really payed any attention to all the years of help my Step-Dad tried to give me. I finally let his words sink it. I was going to be better than all the things I heard people say. I put on my working boots and did what a man had to do. I worked. I got up and I worked. When I was sick. I got up and worked. When the bills where dragging me down. I worked. When ex-wives were dragging me through hell in court. I worked. When children where being born And needed fed. I worked. When people where holding me down at work. I just kept working. My Grandfather told me one time, “You can tell alot about man who gets up and goes to work every day.” Well. . . That’s what I’ve done my whole life! I’ve worked under the hot sun welding steel, welding pipe. I worked as an Ironworker in the freezing cold and snow soaked boots. I’ve walked countless miles pushing a 900 pound tool box for years fixing tubing as a maintenance mechanic. I’ve climbed radio towers and dug trenches. I pulled wire and I rebuilt equipment that cost millions of dollars. I did all of this and I did it because of a$$holes who inspired me to be better than what they said I would ever be. So now. I’m the a$$hole! I’m an a$$hole to my kids ‘cause I want them to be better then me. I’m an a$$hole to people I know and maybe it will inspire them to be great as well. Maybe they’ll say “Hey Ed, look at me now! I’m living the American dream!“ “So HA!!! Whatcha think of that?” I’m simply going to say... you’re welcome!
Yeah.. that’s some hurtful sh*t right there!

Finaly Ridin ‘ and
Livin‘ Again Susan Hammersley Years ago when I had both of my kidneys removed and started dialysis, I wasn’t sure I would survive, much less LIVE again. Several years ago, I promised Sam that when I got a new kidney and was well enough, we would get a trike and ride together. When we brought this home on Friday, he said two things. 1. He hugged me and said, “Mama I’m so proud of you.” and 2. He said, “It’s really loud!”
“When I was at my very sickest, Sam and I would promise each other that after I got a new kidney and got well enough, we would get a motorcycle and ride together. Today that dream came true.” 14 June 2019
I rode it around the yard today for the first time and I am taking the basic riders course next weekend. Let the new adventures begin! Thank you Brandon and William at Busted Nuckle Motorcycle Repair LLC. South for helping make my dream come true.
I’ve been carrying this bell (as a keychain) for 2 years, since Vonna gave it to me for my birthday in 2017. It’s beat up now, but I’m still so thrilled to hang this from the bottom of my new (to me) trike.

the good news! TANK AND GAS I received a text from one of the other Jesus freak administrators of this Facebook page yesterday, asking if I wanted to ride today. His question was a call of faith in hopes of me agreeing with his spirit in the love in riding by wherever the spirit of riding will take us. Amen! The call is not so much dependent on hearing, it is dependent in the action to proceed in heeding (mindful of) the call. We rode today. We did not know when we were going to ride or where we would end up or what obstacles we would encounter along the way. We were free to allow the faith God knew was in us to call us to where He had predestined. Amen Brother? When we follow the call of God in faith we are saved by it’s grace, no matter what we see as obstacles, these are places to rely on (trusting) that this is a test to prove ones faith! Amen bro? Les Struck and Aubrey Taylor, are the other two administrators of this page, “KMBC Redeemed Jesus riders.” Les could not ride today because of the call to faith in mowing grass, he still rode though in the spirit of John Deer, lol. Aubrey’s name reminds me of the Name ”Abram,” Les, looks more like ”Abraham.” Ya know Abram received a text from God in his spirit, a call to take a ride of faith and was accredited to him the blessing of being in right standing with God no matter what because God is faithful to His promise to us by His Word. On our ride today we stopped to eat because neither of us had eaten since 7:30 am. It was now noon and only into the ride by 30 minutes. Where we stopped only took check or cash and we realized after we ordered we didn’t have enough cash. But God provided so we could eat what we ordered. After lunch we rode in 90 degree plus weather for around 50 miles into a heat produced rain storm, but we were only in it for maybe 30 seconds, just enough to get cooled off while pulling into a Harley dealership’s driveway that happened to be to our right.
Rodger Duvall ~ Jesus Freak Thee Redeemed House biker Church
You see, we are the tank God designed and created. The gas that is meant to go in us is FAITH, with it we will never be lost, even if you have very little. God is so gracious He will even allow us to choose not to have faith in His word. Some do, by showing more faith in the things of this world instead of God’s word. When we do that we need to realize that, that is not faith at all. We are only practicing what WE already know from what the world has shown, something that is already seen is not faith. Walking in the ways of the world is faith in what we see. Walking by GOD’S Word is the Faith that God HAS FOR US to be received. Romans 14:22,23 says, “Whatever is not of Faith is sin.” Hebrews 11:6 says, “Now without faith it is impossible to please God, for the one who draws near to Him must believe that He exists and He rewards those who seek HIM.” Now let us have this kind of Faith,” Faith is not being able to see the way because you are following the ONE who is The Way. Amen. Now let’s ride from Christ and Follow the Faith by the Spirit of God’s Son in following His example to His prayer “ Not my will, but Your will Father for my life for others.”
After a free drink from the dealership and some righteous talk, we took the wilderness route and met up with a swollen river out of its banks almost 2ft high across the road (I thought the flood was before Abrams time) we turned around and around and around until we agreed that “one is not lost as long as one has gas in their tank,” now that is faith at work...you can’t see the gas but you know it is in the tank.
