Thanks, also, to all of our readers for keeping the suggestions coming in, as well as, the stories, photos, poems, etc. Of course, none of this would be possible without our advertisers. nc packs4 patriots Support our local heroes SO YOUR SOLDIER IS BEING DEPLOYED OVERSEAS…
Be aware, that very few families have to travel outside the U.S. even when their child is wounded; it is only the rarest of circumstances in which you might need it. Be prepared!
10 “TO DO’s”: 1. I LOVE YOU Take nothing for granted. So you think your child knows you love them? Tell them anyway and every chance you get before they leave. 2. PAPERWORK Get multiple copies of their power of attorney (POA). Make sure it covers the types of transactions you’ve agreed to be responsible for – banking, insurance, property transactions. Make sure you either have or know where all the rest of his/her papers are (car title? lease? will? etc.) 3. ORDERS Get a copy of their deployment orders as some vendors require these to discontinue service without a penalty (cell phone companies, cancelling a lease). Be sure to remove ALL of the social security numbers from the copy you send to anyone. 4. HANG ON! Deployment is one big roller coaster ride. They’re leaving. They’re delayed. They’re leaving. They call. They don’t call. They’re overseas. They’re leaving for the AO (area of operations). They arrived. They get internet. The internet connection is down. They’re going out on mission. They’re back. They’re getting R&R. It looks like 6 more months. UpDownUpDown. They have an important job to do, your job is to hang on and look forward to their return. 5. PASSPORT If you don’t already have one, get a passport. We will all pray you will never need it, but it can save you in travel time if you ever happen to need it.
Filling up a truck for troops on the move!
Photo left and below: Supporting a great partner USO of North Carolina!
Photo above: Volunteers from Emerald Isle brought over 1000 pretty handcrafted cards for our troops, cooling neck wraps, and started a day of service. A request for troop support came in suddenly and these volunteers sprang into action to support 200 troops!
Please email or call us for more info. Thank you very much for your continued support!
6. COMMUNICATION Send mail. Get their friends and family to send mail (do not publicly post their whereabouts). Send postcards. Send greeting cards. Send pictures. They might not respond as frequently as you write (or as often as you’d like) – but don’t let that stop you. And remember, if there are breaks in communications (no email, texts, or instant messages) repeat after me: NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS. 7. MAIL Send STUFF. Send packages. Send books, comic books, magazines, their favorite things. Ask what they need, but even when they say they don’t need anything, send something. Send happy stuff — you know whatever makes them laugh or feel good. Be sure to learn the overseas mailing r ules – no porn, no pork, no alcohol etc. Don’t worry about sending too much – unfortunately, there are soldiers who rarely get any mail and your soldier will share. Go to your local Post Office and ask for FLAT RATE BOXES and CUSTOMS FORMS. You can also get FREE boxes online to be delivered by your mailman at https://store. usps.com/…/sh…/military-care-kit-P_MILITARYKIT Get to know your postal clerks — they are a wealth of information! Pick out some family photos that will make your soldier happy; a piece of home… and why he/she serves. If you order things to be sent to your soldier, DO NOT HAVE THEM SENT TO THE SOLDIER. You will have no way of knowing whether they were ever received. We learned to have things shipped to us and then we re-packaged it in the flat rate boxes.

nc packs4 patriots Support our local heroes 8. BE PROUD Support their efforts. No matter what you read elsewhere or what your feelings are, it isn’t about you. They need to hear that you appreciate their sacrifice. If you can’t say something nice, say nothing. 9. NO PUSHING If they’re not telling you, don’t ask. There are some things your soldier can’t talk about. There are things your soldier doesn’t want to talk about. Try not to add to their stress. If a conversation seems to upset them – get off the subject, change it or agree with them. They have plenty on their minds and they shouldn’t have to worry about you. Make them want to communicate with you. 10. CONNECT Join support groups. You will need a hand to hold and shoulder to cry on when you’re down in their absence. The Family Readiness Group (FRG) is a command-sponsored organization of family members, volunteers, and soldiers associated with a particular unit. If at all possible, get on their list or follow them online. Please keep yourself busy with other things. Once they deploy, the same old feelings creep up from those 10 weeks of basic training. Remember how hard that was? The difficulty of keeping track of your soldier and trying to communicate with him/her will consume a lot of your non-working (and in some cases working) time. You will think about them night and day. All perfectly normal, but they want you to have a life. As my son said, “That’s why we’re here – so you can live normally there.” More tips from Barbara D. Whitehead (member): Get an inventory of their property, including serial numbers, model, date purchased, etc of any electronics and expensive items. Where is it stored? Is there a payment plan if in private storage? Is there insurance? What does that cover? What is the plan for auto storage? Get a list of bank accounts, bills and how they are paid. Understand your POA. Talk about finances. Photos right: Big thank you to these volunteers from OpenDoor Church, Leading by Example group. They brought donations, made cards and packed 305 goody bags!
Our mission is dependent on both items for packages and financial support for postage. We invite and welcome your support. Our troops are still deploying, still serving and still sacrificing for our country. We honor that service and sacrifice.
Photo above, right and below: Welcome home North Carolina National Guard 430th!
Will you join our team to make sure we can continue our mission of support to show our deployed troops that Americans still appreciates their service and sacrifice? Please don’t ever think that you can’t make a donation because your effort is too small. We appreciate every single dollar. Troop Signup for Care Packages
Photos below: We appreciate the creative goody bags from Lee’s Chapel UMC, and the donation of postage funds! These are adorable. A military family was volunteering today and enjoyed seeing the support from giving Americans.
We appreciate the service of the members of our country’s military as they deploy to serve missions in difficult and dangerous environments. Our care packages show the care and support of a grateful nation. They contain snacks, toiletries, and recreation items. Troops are welcome to ask for specific items that they may be missing or needing. Special requests often are items like coffee, certain snacks, socks, favorite magazines and books. We send packages that are large enough for several members of a troop to share. Chaplains are a good point of contact for our organization so they can distribute items in chapel, recreation items, or along their visits to outlying areas. Troops who wish to receive packages are asked to email us at: ncp4p@yahoo.com or private message us on our facebook page at: www.facebook.com/NCP4P/

Raleigh, N.C. This was the 5th Goodguys Rod & Custom Association NC Nationals at the NC State Fairgrounds in Raleigh, N.C., on April 26-28. Every year it gets bigger and better with so many events to participate in and so many things to see! This year there was over 1,500 Rods, Customs, Classics, Muscle Cars and Trucks thru ‘87. They provide these for anyone that is interested in paying by the day or hour to use them (for a fee). With so many hot rods, customs, classic, muscle cars & trucks the North Carolina Nationals was held outside as well as inside with vendors and exhibitors from around the country. They had a swap meet & cars for sale corral. Inside there was a historic race care exhibit and Derby Indoor car show featuring Hot Rods and Customs. Parked Motorcycle Syndrome VA/WV PMS (Parked Motorcycle Syndrome) 1-3 February 2019
Article written by; Ellen Taylor VA/WV District
We had a beautiful weekend, it was a little cool, but plenty of sunshine. This event has been going strong for the past 22 years, thanks to Glennadine Gouldman. We had Motor Maids from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia. It was an awesome weekend to hook up with our Motor Maids sisters, we had over 37 people this year.
There was a lot to do in Staunton Virginia you wouldn’t believe the places to see in the area, just to name a few;
PMS was held at the Historical Stonewall Jackson Hotel, Staunton Virginia. There is so much to see in Staunton, the Hotel was really close to downtown area, most of us did the walking tour of this wonderful city. Others did some sightseeing in the surrounding areas.
I have to say this is a good way to start off the new year, with all our Motor Maids sisters. Glennadine I want to Thank You for thinking up this event back in the day. Did you ever believe it would be still going strong 22 Years later?

Cruisin’ The Coast 2019! ...what a Rally! This years rally event had more people than we have seen in years! We started everything off at the North end of Myrtle Beach at The HarleyDavidson Shop at the Beach to check out all their new bikes under the tent. Talk about inventory, they’ve got it! Many people were taking demo rides... great way to see what bike fits you and fall in love! We picked up the official Rally H.O.G Pin and hung out with friends. After grabbing a hotdog we headed over to the main store, Myrtle Beach HarleyDavidson. The front parking lot was
Above and below: Friendship and fellowship at the Rally.
Above and below: So many bands to see and so little time!
After hanging out front for a while we headed inside to check out all the new Rally t-shirts and Harley gear! There were so many cool designs to pick from that it was hard to choose! We visited with the guy at the Rally info table where he had maps, flyers, brochures, and of course, Behind Barz Magazine!
What a show! Burn-Outs galore! packed and pouring over into an adjacent parking area beside it. We stood out front and watched all the bikes roll in and park for a while. So many bikes! Having fun and enjoying the Rally with the one you love! Doesn’t get any better than that - Behind Barz Life!
Everybody loves Burn-Outs!

Myrtle Beach Bike Week
At the Rally you see all kinds of bikes and all kinds of people from all over the country and world! That is part of what make the Rally so much fun! We get to meet new people and see cool bikes! We tried to hit all the hot spots while at the Spring Rally. We headed over to Murrells Inlet to hang out at the Beaver Bar and Suck Bang Blow for a few. We visited The Rat Hole. We also headed up to Barefoot Landing where there were a few vendors. One of our favorite places to visit during the rally is at one of the coolest bar/restaurants on Wet Willies. They have great food, a great view and gorgeous gals serving up cold brews!
Yep, we can honestly say the Rally was kicking! This year was the 78th annual Spring Rally. So many rides were happening all over the Grand Strand during this year’s Rally. Myrtle Beach Harley-Davidson had a ride almost every day of the Rally. They even had a free breakfast one morning at Flapjack’s Pancake Cabin in Garden City. They held a Biker Bash at Carolina Ale House in Myrtle Beach with free food, door prizes & more! We can hardly wait to go back in the Fall to the Hurricane Alley Rally! Be sure to check out Myrtle Beach HarleyDavidson’s facebook page and their website for all the details. We will certainly be there to see old friends, meet new friends and have a good time! See y’all there!

CHEWYTongue in the wind
By Butch Ewing and Chewy Ewing Chewy was a great guy and everyone who knew him, loved him! Even if you never met him you still loved him! He did many wonderful acts in his lifetime and touched many, many people! As his book states, Chewy was an ordinary dog and a real dog. What was not so ordinary is that he rode over 100,000 miles on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle during his lifetime. He rode from coast to coast and far north and south. this book captures a few of Chewy’s adventures and they are from his perspective...and they are very true. Many pictures are included, as well. This “pawtobiography” is written by Butch, his driver and dad, as Chewy “barktated” to him. These are truly amazing adventures that Chewy and his dad/driver had together that are documented in this book. From Chewy finding his furever pawrents, learning to ride a motorcycle, helping veterans, helping children, bringing awareness to our veterans, and being a fine example of what a real biker is! Yep, Chewy lived an awesome life! Helping others, spreading the word of Jesus, and just livin’ life...tongue in the wind! Chewy’s entire life is an amazing story! From how his life almost ended at a kill shelter, to finding his pawrents, to life on the road, and all of the wonderful adventures and amazing people he met and touched along the way! The Tar Heel Traveler even got to meet Chewy and aired a few of his enterviews with him. Chewy wrote for Behind Barz Mag from 2011 - 2015 and he had fans all across this great country of ours! All of us really miss him, as we know his dad, Butch, and his mom, Jo do as well. You can order Chewy’s book on Amazon ISBN 9781790652136 Get yourself a copy and everyone who loves dogs, motorcycles, God, or America! This book talks a lot about each of those! International Motorcycle and Scooter Ride to Work Day PICKERINGTON, OHIO -Monday 17 June 2019 was International Motorcycle and Scooter Ride to Work Day. The American Motorcyclist Association urged all motorcyclists and scooter enthusiasts to participate on this day. The worldwide event demonstrated the practical benefits of motorcycles and provides a forum to highlight issues affecting motorcyclists. “Ride To Work Day helps call attention to our way of life and gives us a chance to share our enthusiasm with those who don’t ride,” said Rob Dingman, AMA president and CEO. “Commuting to work, especially on a designated day of rider unity, highlights the positive aspects of motorcycling and the motorcycle lifestyle.”
“This day is not narrowly about encouraging the wider adoption of riding as transportation,” said Andy Goldfine, an event organizer, former member of the AMA Board of Directors and 2013 recipient of the AMA Dud Perkins Lifetime Achievement Award. “It’s about increasing the understanding of -- and tolerance for -- those who choose this form of mobility, and about providing support and encouragement to those who like to ride in transportation-centric ways.”
Ride to Work Day, always the third Monday in June, also provides an opportunity for motorcyclists to highlight important issues, such as distracted drivers, unsafe fuels, motorcyclist profiling and motorcycle-only checkpoints, parking restrictions and the benefits of legal lane splitting.
Event organizers expected more than 1 million additional riders on U.S. roads on Ride to Work Day, shortening commute times, reducing road congestion, consuming less fuel and preserving infrastructure compared to cars, trucks and SUVs. More motorcycles than usual on the road and in the parking lot at work can arouse the curiosity of coworkers and others, giving riders a chance to share how much fun it is to ride and how easy motorcycles and scooters are to maneuver in traffic and to park. Ride to Work Day is a nonprofit organization. More information is available at www.ridetowork.org.
About the American Motorcyclist Association Founded in 1924, the AMA is a not-for-profit member-based association whose mission is to promote the motorcycle lifestyle and protect the future of motorcycling. As the world's largest motorcycling rights and event sanctioning organization, the AMA advocates for riders' interests at all levels of government and sanctions thousands of competition and recreational events every year. The AMA also provides money-saving discounts on products and services for its members. Through the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame in Pickerington, Ohio, the AMA honors the heroes and heritage of motorcycling. For more information, visit www.americanmotorcyclist.com.

from the
mind of big ed That in itself is a big deal to me. Ive worked as an ironworker, a pipewelder, and a industrial maintenance mechanic in a plant that made Fine China and had over ten kilns inside of it. Not that I’m trying to give you folks my resume here, just helping y’all good people understand that I know heat. Hot, sweaty, nuts sticking to your leg hot. Walking funny in Walmart after work hot cause of pure raw ass hot. The kind of hot that when you come in to a place like where I’m working now, I’m already appreciative and even if I was to catch a cold. I would wouldn’t complain about it at all!
Big Ed aka 2Timer
Hi all you Happy riders Busy busy busy! That’s all I can say. Been trying to get things fixed around the house. I started a new job a few months back and with it came a lot of freedom to get things back on track. I have been working two years of a lot of overtime. I didn’t have time for anything hardly, but not the case with this job now. I have fixed my car, fixed my plumbing under my house and I even got a ride in with the bros in the club.
What I love about the biker community is once word got out that I ride I instantly had friends out here. It’s the first question they ask first. You ride? Are you riding this weekend? Did you ride to work? Once you get that out of the way, then it’s, so you ride a Harley, huh? Well, I wish I could afford a Harley but.... I get it. We all have that dream bike or whatever. My thing is that if you are in the wind, roll with it! Don’t be ashamed to ride what you got! My first bike was a 78 Honda Silverwing. It was a box on wheels. It was not a work of art by no means, but it was mine and I loved it. It was the first street legal bike I owned and the first street bike I learned to ride with and I was never ashamed to anyone that the blue box on wheels was my blue box on wheels.
I’ve also been spending time with my family and that to me has been a blessing. My new baby girl Jojo has got her Daddy wrapped around her finger and you can guess, it took very little effort on her part. I can say at 43 years old, being a family man and a biker , I have found my place on this big blue ball. I can also say its time to put some tires on that bike of mine. The last two years has put some dust on that ol gas tank...I’m ashamed to say. I just didn’t have time to ride and be me. That’s going to change!!! I’m going to put some miles on that ol sled. I’m going to have to sweet talk that Harley, she’s probably mad at me leaving her alone like that, but I’m sure once I warm her up a bit she’ll be ready to ride. HAHAHA!! I’m working as a maintenance mechanic at a pharmaceutical company. My rotation is two on and two off with a twelve hour shift being my hours. I also have a three day weekend off, but work a three day as well. This place is way different then any place I’ve ever worked before. The temperature is a huge bonus. It’s a cool 66 degrees year around.

Like I said, I still get it. I’m not where I want to be yet, as far as my ride goes. I ride an ‘08 Harley Nightster 1200. Now, so you can picture this in your head. I’m 6ft. 2” tall. And I weigh in at 277 pounds. So I’m sure you know I catch it all the time with my brothers at the club. I can’t really put it this magazine what they usually say... but let’s just say a monkey with a sexual relationship with a football. It doesn’t matter to me none though. I’m just another hard working American with a family to raise. A big motorcycle payment ain’t in my budget just yet but it’s coming closer by the day. A street glide will be in my future if the good Lord is willing and if the creek don’t rise, but until then I will be a bald headed gorilla on my little blacked out sportster. Anyway, now that I’ve caught up with my life HAHAHA! I do have a request. Since the last time you’ve read this great magazine, my sister-in-law ,Jessie, got married to a damn good man named, Clay. The wedding was beautiful and it was a great time. Not a typical wedding where you just want to see the wedding and leave. No way! It was beautiful and the after party was a blast! They really went all out and if you didn’t have fun, it was your own damn fault. I really got to see the best part of my sister-in-law and how much her faith in God and love for her new husband made her shine like a glowing star. Oh, and junk the “ in law “ part. She’s my sister is how I see her! Well to my request. After the wedding the newlyweds ran off to Mexico for their honeymoon. It was cut short to tragic news. Clay’s sister Lauren had passed away in a car wreck. Lauren Cobb was as much in love with the biker culture as we are. I picked up that her nick name was Biker-Barbie. She was free spirited and you could tell right away she was going to bring life to the party where ever she went. I got to meet her and speak with her. She was super nice and I could tell right away that we would be good friends. So my request is you say a prayer for her family and friends and all those she inspired in the biker community around her. I can’t heal their pain, but I can let her memory and her love for the biker culture live forever in Behind Barz. Thank you..

Iconic Baja California, surrounded by the pounding Pacific Ocean and crystal calm Sea of Cortez, is an isolated and proud land woven together by ancient myths, legends and amazing true stories. Biker author Zoë Cano captures the spirit of this beautiful, awe-inspiring and intriguing place on a solo 3,000-mile adventure ‘on the roads less travelled’, encountering a myriad of surprises along the way. The landscapes are extreme, sometimes unforgiving, but always spellbinding; rich fertile valleys merge into arid cacti-strewn deserts, mountains melt into forests, and the wildest beaches and bays are home to the richest diversity of marine life. Reflecting life out on the road, Zoë also digs up a treasure trove of her other travel story gems and cleverly intertwines them with this story. This is the latest of her excellent travel books, following on from Bonneville Go or Bust and Southern Escapades, and like the previous two it just makes you want to get out there and explore. Warning – reading this book will bring on your wanderlust! Chilli, Skulls & Tequila by Zoë Cano is on sale now from all good bookshops or direct from the author at: www.zoecano.com
We have known carol for a few years and she lives right here in N.C. This book is such an interesting read that we wanted to share it with y’all. Some low-frequency sounds—such as noise from storms or truck engines—can make you feel dizzy and nauseated. An index finger’s light touch can stop people from losing balance. You are more prone to trip when you think someone is watching you. A breakthrough in improving balance as we age might just come through the study of the Achilles tendon. These and other surprising and useful nuggets of information can be found in this lively, 360 - degree exploration of our body’s most intricate, overlooked sense—balance. Readers follow award - winning science and health writer Carol Svec through various facilities as she talks with leading scientists doing state-of-theart balance research. She showcases the coolest gadgets. Along the way she cites case studies of people whose lives are affected by balance dysfunction; explains how balance research is being applied today to help those who are ill, elderly, disabled, or simply prone to motion sickness; and provides a glimpse at what ingenious, potentially life-changing advances may be coming down the road. Whether you have a balance disorder or care about someone who does, are an athlete or performer whose livelihood depends on balance, or just love accessible, page - turning popular science, you’ll be enlightened and entertained by this appreciation of our complex super-sense. You can find this book at Barnes & Noble and on Google Play.

Great Readz
I met the Teutuls back in 2003 at the Sturgis Rally in South Dakota. Paul Jr. has been in Behind Barz Mag a few times. We have all seen the show, American Chopper. You either loved it or hated it. This book offers an inside view or behind the scenes look into Paul Jr.’s life. The Build reveals the “behind the scenes” story of the popular TV reality series American Chopper for the show’s millions of fans. Author Paul Teutul, Jr., is arguably the most creative builder of custom “chopper” motorcycles in the world. His talents were revealed to millions of TV viewers worldwide on American Chopper, as well as later on a spinoff series, American Chopper Senior vs Junior. The Build gives the reader at Paul Jr.’s life behind the camera, which included volcanic conflict with his father and business mentor, Paul Sr. Using his own story of improbable success as an illustration, Paul Jr. offers insights on how anyone can find and activate often hidden talents. In a charming, often humorous way, The Build is a rallying cry to unleash God-designed creativity and live life to the fullest. I love that Paul Teutul shares his life (a very rough upbringing), and about how his faith has helped him overcome obstacles in his life. The story is not only entertaining but inspiring. Even if you did not care for the show...or even if you did, I think you would enjoy this book. You can find it at most stores, Target, WalMart, Barnes & Noble, etc.

My name is Brandy... and this is my story I am a 67 year old retired US Marine, and wanted to be a biker all my life. I got the bug in 7th grade, but the only brand I really knew about throughout my life, with no exposure to motorcycles other than the movies, was Harley-Davidson. After 5 years of college, and three years of teaching I joined the Marine Corps and bought my 1st motorcycle; a Suzuki 650. I sold it when I transferred to Japan and began paying off my dream of a cherry red Harley Sportster. Life happened, I got married and had to cancel the bike. More time went on, I eventually retired from the Marie Corps and went from, “Can’t wait to have a Harley..” to, “I wonder what it would have been like to own a Harley.”
Then in October of 2005, I ran into a riding club at my local Marine Corps League and got bitten by the Harley bug all over again. In Dec 2005 I bought my dream machine; a blue and white Softail Deluxe. Now twelve states later, I find myself a lot older and finding the “unsteady problems” on my bike getting worse. Once again, I got lucky and I am now the proud owner of a red 2016 Freewheeler Trike! I am currently the Secretary of my local HOG Chapter and plan on attending the Curves to Cores HarleyDavidson Regional Rally in Winchester, VA. It is going to be the best time ever in my 13 year love affair with Harley-Davidson. Thanks to Matt Mitchell and Harley-Davidson of Quantico, I know the TRUE definition of “...living the dream.”

Beyond the Horizon a storm was brewing I knew because the wind danced a tempestuous tango around my Harley spewing dust in my mouth sand pellets beat against the chrome not even my reflection could stare back at me What was once black turning a mottled gray The sun could not fool these weathered eyes change was in the air Riding on the edge of the blade right on into the storm the distance ahead as far as the distance behind thunderous clouds above hail stinging like salt into scars of sorrow no longer holding onto that pain of yesterday The Power given twists the throttle into tomorrow into the eye of the storm where clouds part whilst the sun shines in that moment when The Wind stands still. ***A collaboration of the Road, the Wind, and the Pens of:

The Clip Of The Wind
Crows
The clip of the wind Is faster than me, I can hear it blow on by It's as fast as the speed of life That races before my eyes. The world it's true Is a different place For the few who like to ride. The wind is a treasure map To nowhere, For nowhere is for everywhere And everywhere in between, For the wind always goes To a different place, Or a place you haven't been. The wind carries the journey On many a road, Deep in the visions of time Yet it's stored away for a future date That you recall, From somewhere deep in your mind. Yes, the clip of the wind Is faster than me. I can hear it blow on by And an instant sense of what I feel Does not escape the eye.
I sit outside and a lone crow flies by. I hear him call but his murder is nowhere in sight. The others hear him call. One perches on the high point of a nearby roof, another on a chimney. Soon there are more, five, six, eight, twelve.

It is eighteen degrees and I flick the ash from my cigarette and sip my coffee. Many crows now, more than I care to count. As one, they lift to the skies, circle, move in my direction. I crush my cigarette in an ashtray filled with spent smoke, take one last sip of my coffee. Black feathers, yellow beaks, crow claws, murder is in the air. © Marc D. Storm Rider
An MC is not for those who are fake You should strive to give way more than you take It’s not for weekend warriors or wannabes It’s about love, loyalty, honor, and integrity You should have your brothers back 24/7/365 Not when it’s convenient for you or only on a ride You will earn respect through hard work and a good attitude Or lose it quickly from those who choose to do There is a big difference between being a patch holder And just wearing a patch Know the difference before your patch gets snatched A simple MC education maybe what you lack If it’s not in your heart, don’t put it on your back © Lee Buddah Haverstick, Black Rose Poetry™, Road Scribes of America ™

the good news! CHANGE On the latest ride I stopped for lunch after a time of being free in the wind by Christ. The word, “by” meaning “follow,” riding is just one of the many ways and time of worshiping my Lord and our Savior, Jesus. I Praise Him for adopting me through changing me, transforming me with the only requirement was a willingness to be changed by Him in Him. As I stepped up to the counter to place my order of food I noticed the see through box of money with the sign above it that read, “Adoption requires your change.” God is always speaking to us, and He has given us ears to hear if we just listen for Him. He reminds me all the time in the things He places all around me of how I am His. I think back to the time in my shed that night when I truly felt like a fatherless child, crying out to God to show me that You are real, because I needed someone way bigger than anything of this world. I was tired of the nothingness of this worlds lies, addictions, and false sense of success. I guess I had finally come to the end of me, or God had brought me to the beginning of me in Him, a choice up to me to make. Only, I just didn’t realize I had been contemplating that choice for a long time. You see, my ears were not hearing and my eyes were not seeing that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is a free gift of eternal life, and it requires a change to receive it.
Rodger Duvall ~ Jesus Freak Thee Redeemed House biker Church
A change in the desire of being separated from this world, a change of the world’s way of thinking, and a change of ( not knowing this ) heart. Adoption into The Kingdom now requires your change of allowing Jesus to change YOU! This lunch gave me food for thought, Jesus is the bread of life, when He told everyone who was following Him, “Unless you eat my flesh of the Son of Man and drink My blood, you do not have life in yourselve. Anyone who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.” ( John 6:53-54 ) “Does this offend you?” I want to feed on Jesus everyday by following Him and wherever He leads me He will be there. In signs on a food counter, in the words of a song, in the sight of creation, and in the wind on my face, free in the wind, reminding me that HE HAS BEEN MY REAL FATHER ALL ALONG. Now I hope to ride today Lord willing, and I will ride for Christ because this is why He made me, to be like Jesus and die to self. Now let’s ride for Christ.
