Mother Goose is on the loose

If you go out to the park today, you’re sure of a big surprise. If you go down to Prince Charles Park, you’d better go in disguise! On Thursday, June 18th become a part of the largest Mother Goose circle ever at Prince Charles Park from 11:00am to 1:00pm and don’t forget to bring your teddy bear, water bottle and sunscreen. Organized by the Kamloops Early Language and Literacy Initiative (KELLI), the Child Care Resource and Referral (CCRR) and Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) Library, the 9th Annual Teddy Bear Picnic and Parent Child Mother Goose Celebration at Prince Charles Park promises to be the best one yet. Rain or shine, there will lots of fun activities for your family to enjoy and admission is free however, if you like, you can bring a food item to donate to the Kamloops Food Bank as donations are always appreciated. The Teddy Bear Picnic is a family favourite that has fun activities for the whole family to enjoy. Mother Goose will be bringing many of her favorite Kamloops friends to help celebrate including the Kamloops Arts Council’s Rivertown Players, a Robin Hood presentation from Project X, sing along with Vicki Mckee, enjoy the beat with Drummer Dave, or perhaps get the whole family together for a fun filled Zumba session

with Fit by Design or gymnastics with River City. With so many great activities to choose from there is something for the entire family to have fun participating in. There will be blankets set out for little ones and their families to picnic and play and with so many activities and performances going on all around Prince Charles Park, your patch of grass may be the only resting stop your teddy bear takes all day. Storytime Corner With TNRD Library is always a favourite for teddy bears but if your fuzzy buddy is feeling a little under the weather, the fairest of the fairy tale princesses would love to help him feel his furry best at the Teddy Bear Hospital with Princess Parties. The inflatable fire safety house will be set up for everyone to enjoy, as well as a garden station and lots of fun crafts to create. Stop by for a piece of cake and a story or stay all day and treat your favourite teddy bears to the best picnic ever! Everyone is invited to join in the festivities and children from preschools and daycares across Kamloops are encouraged to attend this event for their year end celebration as the school year winds up for the summer.
