Sharing the wonders of nature The natural wonders of our world are truly awe-inspiring. There is nothing quite like an outstanding view that can take your breath away. That makes you feel more alive and grounded than anything else on this earth. It is important to share this connection to the natural world and its beauty to younger generations. There is becoming a disconnection between children and nature as the world has been more developed and technology has grown leaps and bounds. The days of playing the dirt and exploring past the backyard are slowly diminishing. The Kamloops Young Naturalists Group is dedicated to reversing this travesty. It is their soul mission to inspire children naturally. Current coordinator Rich Doucette strongly believes in the purpose of the Kamloops Young Naturalists. “It is a great group to get involved in. To get kids outside and away from the screens,” comments Rich. “We organize monthly events with caregivers or parents to come out with their child, be hands on and learn about nature. You will be learning something interesting and it is something new to do with family.” The group has been active in Kamloops for a decade now. Taking young children and their fam-
