DSHA Application Workshop (8th graders only)

Join us for a tour of DSHA and a workshop to learn more about the DSHA admissions application! Hear from the admissions team for a one-session deep dive into everything you need to complete the process. At the end of each session, participants will receive a waiver code for the admissions application fee. You won’t want to miss this chance to reduce stress in the fall of your eighthgrade year! Engineering and Space Science

Design and build your own rocket to be launched at the end of the week! Learn the science behind aeronautical design and see how boosters, thrust, and reentry work with the successful launch and recovery of space missiles. See what America has planned for its new space program and the Space Force! And did you know a DSHA alumna worked on the rover that explored the surface of Mars?! Escape Room: Dasher Edition

Escape rooms are a type of physical adventure game in which a group of people are locked in a room and have to solve a series of puzzles, find clues, and escape the room within a set time limit. Let’s try it at DSHA! We’ll devise a challenge that will get you to use your detective skills and work as a team to solve the mystery! July 12-16 | 9-11 a.m. and/or July 26-30 | 9-11 a.m. | $50

Etiquette

Learn essential manners and social skills that will provide more self-confidence as you encounter more challenging personal interactions in middle school, high school, and beyond. With fun and interactive role-playing we’ll learn things from introductions to public speaking to good sportsmanship to table manners. June 28-July 2 | 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. | $50

Fabric Fun

Tie dye, puffy paint, and fabric markers, oh my! Each day, you’ll design and decorate a piece of clothing including socks, hats, and more. Creativity and individualism are strongly encouraged, and you will be able to work together to perfect fabulous fashion pieces! A list of required clothing pieces will be provided before camp begins. June 28-July 2 | 2-4 p.m. | $75

Fiction Writers Workshop

Get ready for a crash course in the fiction writing process. From planning and plotting, to revisions and edits, you’ll get the insider’s view to the world of storytelling. You’ll also have a chance to put your knowledge to work on your own writing and have an opportuity to give feedback on each other’s creations. Start being the best writer you can be! June 21-25 | 2-4 p.m. | $50

First Aid and Safety

Come learn the basics of first aid! Simple emergency procedures including use of the bystander CPR and AED system will be covered. We’ll talk about recognizing emergency situations and how to get help. We’ll also assemble a home first aid kit and put together a safety plan to complete with your family. You won’t receive a formal certification, but you will gain important skills. June 14-18 | 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. | $65

Gearing up for Algebra!

Enhance your math skills in a fun, relaxed environment. Get a jump start on the new school year. Develop a basic understanding of algebra concepts, build models, practice algebraic thinking, and build confidence. Algebra is right around the corner. Previous knowledge of algebra not necessary.
