About The Committee The Membership Development Committee aims to foster the growth of not only our clubs but also the personal growth of the members within the Caribbean District. My plans and goals for the Membership Development Committee for the administrative year 2016 – 2017 are: Introducing Professional Training In university, most professional skills are not taught so this would be a great opportunity to provide a platform so CKI members become all rounded individuals. Topics I wish to focus on are: How to write a good resume. What to expect and how to conduct yourself in an interview. Dressing for success. Team building exercise. Proper etiquette (internet, business, meeting, etc.) The importance of networking. Public speaking Encourage proper use of the Robert’s Rules of Order Encourage Circle K Education Tips and Tricks of how to increase club growth Objectives: Host two (2) professional workshops (October, February) and have experts leading the various forums. On a monthly basis, articles on the above topics will be published in THE EVOLUTION, the committee’s official newsletter, and circulated to members via email, Facebook page and other appropriate media. If you would you like to be a part of the Membership Development Committee, please send an email to dst.ijahb@gmail.com with your name, club, email address and contact number.

Circle K International Circle K International (CKI) is the premier collegiate and university community service, leadership development, and friendship organization in the world. With more than 13,770 members in 17 nations, CKI is making a positive impact on the world every day. Circle K International aims to be the leading global community service organization on college and university campuses that enriches the world one member, one child, and one community at a time. Circle K clubs are organized and sponsored by a Kiwanis club on a college or university campus. CKI is a self-governing organization and elects its own officers, conducts its own meetings, and determines its own service activities. CKI blends community service and leadership training with the opportunity to meet other college students around the world. Projects such as the Six Cents Initiative, CKI’s International fundraiser that aims to provide water to the 2.2 billion children worldwide who lack safe drinking water, bring CKI members together to make a difference in the world.
Live to serve, love to serve.

The Kiwanis Family Kiwanis International is the parent organization of CKI at the college, Key Club at the high school, Builders Club at the junior high or middle school, and KKids a the elementary school levels. For a CKI club to exist, a Kiwanis club must sponsor it. The objects of both CKI and Kiwanis are parallel and they share the same motto, "We Build." When a Kiwanis club agrees to sponsor a CKI club, it agrees to make a financial and programming commitment. Key Club Key Club International is a high school-based organization with more than 245,000 members dedicated to helping others, serving their schools, and making their communities better. There are nearly 5,000 high schools around the glove with service-minded members of Key Club. Builders Club The original concept of Builders Club (known as "Young Builders" in the 1930s) was to provide a guidance program to combat disruptive behaviour at the junior high and middle school level. From this evolved the idea of a service organization to develop leadership skills in junior high/middle school students interested in making a personal contribution to their home, school, and community. Bring Up Grades Bring Up Grades is a program designed to provide recognition to students who raise grades into an acceptable grading period to the next.
