OFFICIAL AFTER PARTY mother club Mother is one of the best LGBT parties on the block. Conceived in 2010, it’s Dublin’s favourite old school club night for discoloving gays and their friends. Mother has played host to a plethora of guests including Optimo, LCD Soundsystem, Ana Matronic and Le Galaxie. Having

We’re staging a 16-day Fringe takeover of Hely’s Bar and making ourselves feel at home. Expect glitter. Toast your successes, make new friends, turn a look and have a bop. liv o’donoghue This is it. It’s over. The end of days. Humanity and the world as we know it are ending and we’ve stared deep into the abyss to make a documentary for you. It’s a rough cut, but it’s the best we could do under the circumstances. A forewarning for how you would cope and what you would do. To see what it really looks and feels like to know the end is nigh. Using live-stream film, physicality and performance, we see the stages of the breakdown, the fallout, all that passed.

Investigating our very human fear of endings, AFTER will take you into the beyond, the bit after the end, when it’s already over. It’s a relief... almost. An award-winning performance about violence and intimacy. Samira Elagoz takes us along on her personal research project across three continents. From online platforms to close encounters, she showcases gender relations in all their brutal and wonderful ambivalence. Elagoz takes the audience on her journey of regaining power, reinventing an autonomous expression of sexuality and attempts to relate to men after being raped. Confrontational, unrestrainedly funny and deeply touching, the performance explores desire, the power of femininity and the male gaze in a world in which the virtual and the real are inextricably intertwined. The SIAB programme was conceived to empower actors to create the show they have always wanted to make; inspired by their own unique talents and with a great story that only they can tell. FRINGE LAB is both a space and a platform of activities for training and learning. Professional performing artists need somewhere to work. FRINGE LAB was used by over 200 companies for 6,000+ hours in the last year. Fringe is devoted to cultivating connections: artists access in-house expertise from marketing to producing and everything in between! FRINGE LAB Artist Office A free, shared, lockable office space at Fringe HQ that artists can make their own. Writer Dylan Coburn Gray; actor, writer and producer Stephen Colfer; and theatre director Mollie Molumby join us from April 2018 – April 2019. FRINGE LAB Associate Artists A pilot scheme for artists who need space to grow without feeling the pressure to fit into a specific support model. We’re providing space for making, meetings and workshops. But we’re taking our lead from this year’s associate artists: Change of Address Collective and Trans Live Art Salon. FRINGE LAB Hot Deskers Feeling isolated as a freelancer has been a recurring issue in our conversations with artists. We’ve opened up more hot desk space at FRINGE LAB. Artists for this pilot programme are writer and actor Noelle Brown; Jeda de Brí and Finbarr Doyle of Sickle Moon Productions; and comedian Davey Reilly. Hundreds of artists spend thousands of hours making work for Dublin Fringe Festival each year. Their ambition and hard work is inspiring. The Awards celebrate just a handful of the most breath-taking, rule-breaking, legendmaking moments from each festival. Our panel of judges recognise the extraordinary skill and talent on display and acknowledge some of the stand-outs in this year’s festival.

Fishamble New Writing Award Awarded to an emerging Irish (or Irelandbased) writer for a new play. The award includes dramaturgical support by Fishamble: The New Play Company.

Next Stage Wild Card A bursary to be part of the Next Stage at Dublin Theatre Festival with Theatre Forum.

Best Design Outstanding lighting, sound, scenic, projection, costume or overall design. Best Performers Two of this year’s brightest stars will take home this accolade. Best Ensemble The standout ensemble – the heartbeat of a show. Judges’ Choice Awards Three awards to acknowledge something that defies categorisation but must be recognised for its brilliance.

First Fortnight Award The winner will perform at the First Fortnight Festival; whose mission is mental health awareness, challenging prejudice and ending stigma.

Bewley’s Café Theatre Little Gem Award The most exciting show that’s under 60 minutes with a handsome prize: a twoweek run at Bewley’s Café Theatre and €2,000 for the remount. Spirit of Wit: Moira Brady Averill Award A monetary prize and unique award for an artist willing to take risks and whose work defies categorisation with bold and unconventional material. In memory of Moira Brady Averill, who had the power to transform space and thought through alchemical wit.
