Welcome to the Regional Performance Centre for today’s Scottish Building Society Scottish Women’s Premier League Two clash with Stirling University. We welcome Stirling University after two tough away games to Aberdeen and Partick Thistle and it is great to be at home for this afternoon’s fixture. Stirling will provide another extremely tough challenge for the squad. Craig has a good group of players who will be organised and give their all for him. We are well aware of the challenges we face today and are prepared to for what lies ahead. The girls have shown glimpses of quality in our first two league games, hopefully we can perform to a high level for longer periods in today’s game and pick up our first win of the season.

Their attitude has been different class as always and they are ready and looking forward to the match. We are delighted with the squad we have assembled to compete in a very tough league. Our new arrivals Alex Robson, Rebecca Foote, Stina Kleppe, Chloe Clemison and Haley Kern have settled into the group really well and have added a great deal of quality to the squad. In my time at the club this is strongest squad we have had, every player will play their part over the course of the season and with two teams gaining promotion to the top flight it will prove to be a very exciting season for all.

Gavin

Good afternoon and welcome to the Regional Performance Centre for our first home fixture in the Scottish Building Society Scottish Women’s Premier League Two as we host Stirling University Everyone is buzzing to welcome Stirling University for our first home game of the season. Stirling are a good, physical side that we have recently encountered which has given us a good knowledge of how they play and what to expect. The girls have been working hard this week in training and we hope to earn our first win of the season and put things right this Sunday. Our opening game of the season away to Aberdeen a fortnight ago was extremely frustrating and gutting for the whole squad. Losing a goal in the last kick of the game is always going to be hard to take especially after performing so well in the first half. We are aware it is early on and there is still time to earn points and have a successful season so therefore have been working hard to improve in certain areas and hopefully we can take that into our games going forward. Last week’s game against Partick Thistle was what we expected. They have signed some new players and we knew it was going to be a hard, physical game. The girls were brilliant in the second half getting an equaliser and were unlucky to not come away with the win.

It was good to get ourselves a point on the league table and that hopefully spurs us on for today when we welcome Stirling.

We have really strengthened our squad this season, bringing in some experienced players along with some young talent as well. All the girls have fit in to the squad well and increased the team’s competition which is going to benefit everyone’s development as well as giving us several options to play with. Starting off the season injured is extremely frustrating for myself, no player wants to be unable to play especially after waiting so long to get the league up and running. I am hoping after a few weeks rest and extra training I can come back stronger as I am itching to get back on the pitch and help the team have a successful season. The season ahead is going to be full on with a lot of games being cramped into a shorter time period. Everyone is excited about this as we will be playing week in week out which is great after a tough start to the year for everyone. We just want to show everyone what we are capable of and I’m sure we will do that; we have a great talented squad at the moment, and everyone’s determined to have a successful league campaign.
