Good evening and a warm welcome to players and coaches of Queen’s Park for this afternoon’s Park's Motor Group SWPL2 clash. First and foremost, it was a fantastic victory on Wednesday evening against Boroughmuir Thistle in front of a sizeable crowd of 152, attention quickly turned towards today’s game against a side we have a lot of respect for. Before I look at Queens Park, on Wednesday evening, we were brilliant in the opening 60 minutes of the match against a team on a rich vein of form which was very pleasing, I've been over critical of the girls at times this season but I can't fault them on Wednesday, it was a fantastic result and 3 points to match as well which is pleasing. We have a congested fixture card at the moment and it's completely strange as we had a stop start structure to our fixtures at the start of the season but ultimately, the girls play football to play games and have been professional throughout this latest period. Back earlier in the season, we beat Queens Park 3 -1 but they played well that day which tells you that we can't underestimate the opposition, we never do and that won't change from now until the end of the season, it's important we continue to focus on ourselves. On that game in question, we were really good that day but Queens Park were starting to field a couple of their new signings into play and it will be a completely different test for us , it's a game we are looking forward to, they have plenty of players in their squad who have played SWPL1 football and they have a lot of quality about them. We know what they are about and once again, we aren't taking anything for granted, we will approach this game like any other game and they are capable of producing some good results on their day. Enjoy the game,

Graeme

Fresh from winning 4-0 over Boroughmuir Thistle on Wednesday evening at Davie Park, Cassie Cowper delivered a player of the match performance and admits that the focus has to be on the team in general for how they have approached affairs this season as we get tucked right into the business end of the season. Cowper said, "It was a fine performance from the girls on Wednesday against Boroughmuir, it was good to get the goals and also the clean sheet, the latter is something that we have been working on and realised we need to improve on.

"It was good that we shared goals around the park last night, Tammy Harkin also did well in her overall play and Danni McGinley has shown a good work rate to score the number of goals that she has. "We aren't going into games expecting to win, we are working hard to make sure we don't slip up and avoid giving away points to other teams, training is good and of a high standard which is good. "You can't take anything for granted and I think that was witnessed recently when Stirling University beat Glasgow, it was a result that nobody expected to happen but it also highlighted that you need to focus on your own game. Cowper looked ahead to today's match by saying, "Queens Park have signed a few players as of late and will be a hard side for us to come up against, we know how difficult it will be and they will deserve our respect." Finally, Cowper is renowned for her contribution in breaking forward but has also shown a fantastic mentality in encouraging her team-mates. "Graeme has given me the freedom to play how I want, he knows what to expect from me and the way I want to play, I am eager to contribute more in the forward areas and if it helps the team then that's great."

Wednesday 2nd March Davie Park, Blairgowrie 7.30pm

The lead at the top of the Park’s Motor Group SWPL2 was extended to fifteen points on Wednesday evening as Boroughmuir Thistle were defeated 4-0 at a wet Davie Park in Blairgowrie. United started off flying as Danni McGinley and Rachel Todd saw efforts blocked inside the first two minutes.

Graeme Hart’s side came out with the same intensity and could have gone further ahead within 60 seconds when McGinley turned her marker before seeing her shot hit the post.

United were awarded a penalty in the 48th minute after McGinley was fouled inside the box. The league’s top scorer dusted herself down After just five minutes it was 1 and stepped up to make it 21 -0 and Jade McLaren grabbed for the season. her 11th of the season when she powered a header home Harkin added her second and from Tammy Harkin’s corner.
