Good afternoon and a warm welcome to players and coaches of Stirling University for today’s Park's Motor Group SWPL2 clash. First and foremost, I was happy with the win at St Johnstone on Thursday evening and the girls were magnificent in the 1st 45 minutes, we went 4-0 up and never quite hit the same heights in the 2nd half but that is to be expected and is understandable, I'm not giving out any excuses here but there was also a couple of tired legs due to the congested run of fixtures. All in all, job done and another good 3 points, as soon as the game was done on Thursday evening, it was focusing on today's match against Stirling University who will be tricky opponents for us today, the games are coming thick and fast and it's something we are enjoying although it's taking it's toll on the players but we are enjoying playing games as it was stop-start for us at the beginning of the season. It's a pity that this is the penultimate home game of the season but thanks to everyone for supporting the team whether that has been through sponsorships or attending games in person, it's much appreciated by everyone at the club, by the time we are next at home, we aim to be an SWPL1 club by then but acknowledge the job in hand to come. Stirling are an interesting side who have come on a lot lately, they got a bad defeat at the hands of Glasgow Women earlier in the season before beating them in the return fixture recently which deserves a lot of plaudits, they have shown they are capable of getting results and our girls know they are in for a hard game this afternoon. Enjoy the game,
Graeme
Sunday 6th March Regional Performance Centre, Dundee 2.45pm Three late goals saw Dundee United come from behind to continue their unbeaten Park’s Motor Group SWPL2 season last Sunday against Queen’s Park.
United were punished in the 65th minute as the visitors deservedly went ahead; Connor’s cross cum shot beating Perry from the edge of the box.
Graeme Hart made three changes from Wednesday’s win over Boroughmuir Thistle as Chloe Clemison served a one match ban while Megan Burns was unavailable. Neve Guthrie dropped to the bench with Nyla Murphy, Rebecca McMillan and Robyn Smith stepping up from the bench.
Going behind seemed to galvanise the side as only three minutes later Jade McLaren drilled home her twelfth goal of the season to level the scores.
With fifteen minutes remaining Robyn Smith fired over from a Tammy Harkin corner but it wasn’t long until United United struggled to get going pushed themselves in front. in the early stages of the game with Nyla Murphy and The roles were reversed for Danni McGinley failing to find an 82nd minute corner as the target.
