Seattle-Tacoma International Airport Central Terminal Addition & Renovation SEATTLE, WASHINGTON JE Dunn developed, expanded, and executed phasing plans to accommodate for major structural demolition and construction of the new terminal shell, interior build-out and finishes. Temporary pedestrian tunnels were constructed to route passengers and airport guests through the project. The tunnels were built out of fire proofed lumber, were handicap accessible, and portable. They were well-lit, contained non-slip flooring, temporary fire protection, and were safe for the public to use while pulling luggage. In addition, the tunnels were secure enough to prevent intrusion from the terminal side to the air operations side.

BRONZE CERTIFICATION
Nashville International Airport New Terminal Parking Garage NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE New 959,650 SF, 6-story parking garage above a Ground Transportation Center, in a long-term parking lot adjacent to the existing ConRAC. This project has major implications on BNA’s current operations. It changed the ConRAC ramps, public traffic patterns, relocate toll booths, and reroute substantial site utilities. Long-term parking is a major revenue source and cannot afford to have a significant loss of spaces during construction. The first draft of the project’s phasing plan eliminated upwards of 1,100 parking spaces during peak construction. The new Terminal Garage at Nashville International Airport (BNA) Terminal has been awarded Parksmart Bronze certification, making it one of only 35 parking structures in the world and the first in Tennessee to earn this distinction for sustainable design, construction and operation.

The business center houses offices for the Air Patrol, Airport Administration, Wings of Humanity and U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Volanti Restaurant and Lounge, and an event venue with premium views of the airfield. The shade plaza in front of the building includes the Thunderbird Field II Veterans Memorial featuring a pre-World War II Stearman aircraft. Delta Air Lines Airside Modernization ATLANTA, GEORGIA This project consists of the modernization of 85 Delta Air Lines gate hold rooms in Concourses T, A, B and C at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Each gate has its existing storefront systems removed as well as additional portions of exterior walls. Floor-to-ceiling glass was installed in its place, allowing much more natural light to flow into concourses T, A, B and C at the world’s most traveled airport. The project also included installation of new, sloped pre-finished metal ceilings and LED lighting. All hold room carpet was replaced and passengers received nearly 2,000 new power modules to charge mobile devices. JE Dunn split 85 gates and three midpoints into 32 phases consisting of multiple “sectors” within each phase. At any given time, our team was working in 10 to 12 sectors, allowing delivery of six phases concurrently. This innovative scheduling method led to project completion more than a year in advance of Delta’s original plan. Zero gate shutdowns occurred as a result of construction.
