On Time Delivery Dunn On Time is JE Dunn’s planning and scheduling service that focuses on proposal development, preconstruction, project scheduling, periodic schedule review verifications, site visits, and recovery schedules. Lean Construction Lean principles, which focus on maximizing value, eliminating waste, and continuously improving are essential and yield higher efficiency on deployment of all resources. Equally important is facilitating a higher level of collaboration among all project stakeholders.
Technology JE Dunn uses technology tools in the field, including Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Lens, and embraces the use of technology as an integral part of our total project approach and commitment to value and quality. Safety For each project, an effective and understandable Safety & Health policy is defined and enforced, consistent with OSHA regulations and nationally-recognized standards.
Sustainability JE Dunn’s commitment to sustainability and green building provides tangible cost savings. With over $7.6 billion in LEED® certified construction projects and LEED® accredited professionals on staff, JE Dunn is applying innovative construction practices that impact costs and the environment.
In-House MEP Coordination With in-house, MEP staff, we have a greater ability to cost-effectively evaluate design options, coordinate MEP bid documents, and ensure bids received are thorough and complete. Once construction starts, we follow through with on-site field inspections. Collaborative Project Delivery We deliver projects through a highly interactive process, involving all stakeholders, which is focused on driving decisions and actions that reduce waste, increase value, maximize technology, and control costs, regardless of contract delivery method. Web-Based Document Sharing The Dunn Dashboard provides web-based collaboration on design documents, BIM, electronic bid submittals, calendars, pay applications, and other project documentation. This digital sharing allows real-time access of all project information to stakeholders.

Dell Seton Medical Center at The University of Texas AUSTIN, TEXAS This $197 million, 520,000 SF hospital is located within Austin’s new medical district and contains approximately 200 patient beds, along with research labs and classrooms. The facility is the primary teaching hospital and Level 1 Trauma Center for Central Texas and is affiliated with the Dell Medical School at The University of Texas. JE Dunn built more than half of the total 1 million SF of facilities located in this academic medical center campus while coordinating with 3 other construction firms operating on and around the site. Our team successfully navigated complex reporting/compliance structures with the Owner, The University of Texas, County Healthcare District and City of Austin and delivered the hospital in an amazing 28 months. The project has become a model that other communities across the nation are studying due to the unique community partnerships required to enable funding, design and construction. JE Dunn’s working relationship with Seton/Ascension Health dates back nearly a decade. It started with a small landscaping project at University Medical Center Brackenridge and grew to larger renovation projects at other campuses before recently culminating with the construction of the new academic medical center. Along the way we developed a true alignment of values and business expectations that has resulted in projects completed on time, within budget, and an overall positive experience for the client and JE Dunn.

UT M.D. Anderson Cancer Center South Campus Vivarium HOUSTON, TEXAS In order to serve the expanding research needs of UT MD Anderson, an existing 65,000 SF Warehouse on the South Campus was renovated and expanded into a state-of-the-art vivarium.

The project included the addition of a major new utility building and a second level interstitial space. The existing structure required the demolition of 10,000 SF of concrete mezzanine and a large portion of the slab on grade for the completely redesigned underground sanitary and storm systems.
SIZE
The facility consists of BioSafety Level 3 (BSL-3) laboratories, a cage wash area, four suites of holding/procedure rooms, and administrative offices. The vivarium can house up to 60,000 mice for cancer research.

Complex mechanical systems and laboratory equipment was installed. To ensure quality, close coordination with MEP subcontractors were held prior to installation. During commissioning, MEP subcontractors, the engineer, owner and test and balance agents attended twice-weekly meetings to stay in close communication regarding design issues and punchlist items.

Woman’s Replacement Hospital BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA The 610,00 SF multi-story Woman’s Hospital focuses on the patient experience. The hospital features 168 adult and 72 NICU beds. This project includes a labor and delivery area with 24 LDR’s, 4 c-section rooms and nine OR’s with related endoscopic, radiographic, pre-op and PACU accommodations. Also included are a support services building, a central plant and parking on a 224-acre park-like setting campus. The facility is designed with clear growth pathways for future expansion. JE Dunn self performed $3 million of services including foundations, doors, hardware, rough carpentry, wood blocking and equipment installations.

Anderson M.D. Clinic Building and Interior Finish - This 227,421 SF project for Parkland Health and Hospital System is a 5-story, outpatient clinic with 171 exam rooms and 12 treatment rooms serving Urology, Neurology, ENT, Imaging, Cardiac Rehabilitation, Pre-Anesthesia and Surgical Exam services. To further support the clinic services there are multiple MRI, CT and X-ray rooms. The building is connected to the new Parkland Ambulatory Care Hospital via an above grade pedestrian bridge. This teaching hospital is LEED Gold certified.

Parkland Hospital Women and Infants Specialty Hospital (WISH) Clinic Interior Build-Out - WISH is dedicated to providing care for women in every stage of life. It offers a range of women’s health services, from basic gynecology check-ups and routine prenatal care to high-risk pregnancy care and complex surgeries, meeting the unique health care needs of women throughout our community.
ARCHITECT
The new facility provides patients experiencing complications before delivery and provides postpartum care, including care for breastfeeding mothers. In addition, it houses the gynecology clinic, which offers specialty services related to cervical dysplasia, gynecologic surgery, gynecology/oncology and urology/gynecology. Specialized services include OB-GYN sonography.
