On Time Delivery Dunn On Time is JE Dunn’s planning and scheduling service that focuses on proposal development, preconstruction, project scheduling, periodic schedule review verifications, site visits, and recovery schedules. Lean Construction Lean principles, which focus on maximizing value, eliminating waste, and continuously improving are essential and yield higher efficiency on deployment of all resources. Equally important is facilitating a higher level of collaboration among all project stakeholders.

In-House MEP Coordination With in-house, MEP staff, we have a greater ability to cost-effectively evaluate design options, coordinate MEP bid documents, and ensure bids received are thorough and complete. Once construction starts, we follow through with on-site field inspections. Collaborative Project Delivery We deliver projects through a highly interactive process, involving all stakeholders, which is focused on driving decisions and actions that reduce waste, increase value, maximize technology, and control costs, regardless of contract delivery method. Fort Bend County Justice Center RICHMOND, TEXAS The Fort Bend County Justice Center (FBCJC) is a 265,000 SF, 4-story neoclassical building with a 5-story, 85’ high domed rotunda from which secured entry, all circulation and access takes place. The FBCJC houses 17 courtrooms, judges’ chambers, jury assembly and grand jury rooms, with future expansion provisions for 10 additional courtrooms. In addition, the Fort Bend County Justice Center houses District and County Clerk offices, District Attorney and Bailiff’s offices, a law library and 13 other court-related departments. The lower level includes holding cells for 112 incarcerated adults and juveniles with future provisions for 45 additional cells that access the courtrooms through a secured on-grade sally port. The holding cells were developed utilizing Texas Jail Commission Standards and were reviewed and approved by TJCS. The Justice Center incorporates the latest security systems required for county facilities. The Fort Bend County Justice Center was a high-profile project and was the largest building completed in Fort Bend County at the time.

Harris County Emergency Services District 9 Cy-Fair Fire Stations CYPRESS, TEXAS The Harris County Emergency Services District 9 Cy-Fair Fire Stations project consists of the simultaneous, ground-up construction of four separate, fire stations. They are similar in size with each averaging roughly 17,000 SF of space. Each of the four stations are divided into living quarters and apparatus bays. The living quarters have individual dorm pods with washrooms/changing areas belonging to specific crews. The living side of the stations also feature community-accessible multipurpose training rooms, access control, and efficient access from dorm areas to the apparatus bays. The dayroom, kitchen and dining areas are open-concept and provide space for report writing. Interior finish materials are durable and anti-microbial, including the polished/stained concrete floors utilized throughout the living area. The apparatus bays are used for storage and maintenance of fire trucks. The mezzanine space in all bays is utilized for additional storage, and as mechanical/electrical room space. The site design at all four stations allows for ample public and department parking and provides apparatus circulation to the drivethrough bays. All stations consist of structural steel, with brick, stone and metal panels as the skin

City of Houston Right of Way and Fleet Maintenance HOUSTON, TEXAS The City of Houston Right of Way and Fleet Maintenance (ROWFM) project involved the renovation and consolidation of the Fleet Maintenance operations for the City of Houston’s Right of Way (ROW) department. The project consisted of 4 buildings on 3 separate site locations. The ROWFM department is responsible for maintaining the safe operating condition of all city streets, bridges, and drainage ditches, storm sewers, as well as vehicle maintenance for over 5,100 vehicles and equipment for the City of Houston. The new facilities were constructed to replace existing facilities that had realized the end of their useful life in their present locations. The largest site houses two buildings at 58,045 SF and 2,198 SF with buildings on the remaining sites each being 26,150 SF. The buildings consist of automotive vehicle repair bays, a variety of hydraulic vehicle lifts, overhead cranes and other essential shop equipment, as well as administrative offices, conference rooms, and crew areas consisting of break rooms, showers, lockers and restrooms.

City of Houston Bethel Park Renovation HOUSTON, TEXAS JE Dunn completed a 6,100 SF historical park renovation. The project included historical stabilization and renovation of existing church walls. Structural steel framing and ornamental metal window framing was added. The renovation became an open air park with a fountain and chapel, owned by the City of Houston. The unique design includes seating that is reminiscent of church pews; interpretive panels to highlight the illustrious history; open web trusses to reinforce the structure without obscuring light and views to the open sky; refurbished masonry and accents; window openings that allow ample daylight; decorative fencing to secure the site while welcoming visitors; and beautiful landscaping throughout to propel the revitalization in the area.

Harris County Leonel J. Castillo Community Center HOUSTON, TEXAS COST Harris County redeveloped Robert E. Lee Elementary School, originally built in 1920, into the Leonel J. Castillo Community Center. Building spaces include composed of a community center room, museum room, prep kitchen, offices, storage/mechanical room and a shell space. Three outside walls and windows of the original structure were preserved, while the new community center was constructed behind those walls. Building construction restored the front elevation and portions of the side elevations. A structural steel frame supported by new foundations supports the existing exterior walls to remain. The front-entry portico was demolished and reconstructed to its original look. Existing architectural elements of the portico were salvaged for reused or remade to preserve the original portico-look. The rear-portion of the building has a covered deck area over-looking White Oak bayou.

Harris County ESD 29 Champions Fire Station 12 HOUSTON, TEXAS New 11,000 SF fire station including office, living, sleeping, work and vehicle storage areas. Pre-engineered metal building system with an apparatus bay attached.

The first responders of ESD 29 are very excited to have a second station. Fire Station 12 will greatly improve the comfort, efficiency and effectiveness of these vital public servants. Most importantly the new facility will help decrease response times and increase coverage for the surrounding community.

Additionally, Fire Station No. 12, features a 30-foot Drill Tower that will allow the fire fighters to train at their own facility.

DFW International Airport Dpt. of Public Safety Headquarters DALLAS, TEXAS JE Dunn completed the new two-story headquarters facility for the DFW Airport Department of Public Safety. The project is a 130,000 SF, concrete tilt-wall structure that supports multiple DPS department user groups including Police, Fire, Special Services, and Criminal Investigation. Primary building function areas include a large cafeteria, state-of-the-art training rooms, briefing rooms, office space, classrooms, locker rooms and fitness facility, records storage, secure evidence/ property room, a detention holding area with sally port access, as well as one apparatus bay garage for SWAT and specialty vehicles, along with surface parking for 528-cars and landscaping. This project is DFW Airport’s first design-build delivery and required extensive coordination with multiple user groups to balance each department wants and needs into the program while maintaining DFW’s original budget set for the project.
